Abstract
A pair of traction rollers comprises two steel rollers, each of which has grooves and webs running in the axial direction over their entire circumference. The grooves are filled with a material that is more elastic than the material of the webs. The width of the webs is equal to or less than the width of the elastic strips. Due to the staggered arrangement of the elastic strips and the webs between the two rollers, a less elastic web can penetrate into an elastic strip, as a result of which squeeze regions are generated at the edge regions of the webs, which enable a uniform tension over the entire width of the roller.
Description
The invention relates to a pair of pulling rollers for a rotary printing press for transporting printing medium webs, in which one roller is positioned against the other and both rollers can be driven evenly with advance over the speed of the paper web and the inserts offset relative to one another on their circumference in relation to the other roller have made of elastic material.
From DE-PS 23 57 208 a pair of pull rollers for rotary printing presses for transporting paper webs is already known, in which the two pull rollers alternately have ring zones on their circumference made of elastic and comparatively less elastic material. The inelastic ring zones of one pulling roller run with their entire width on the elastic ring zones or inserts of the other pulling roller in the entire pair of pulling rollers. The elastic ring zones each have the same width as the comparatively inelastic ring zones. The disadvantages of this known pair of pull rollers are, on the one hand, the complex manufacture of the rollers and, on the other hand, the deformation of the elastic rings in the running direction. As a result of the different pairing of the rings, increased flexing work will occur due to the reduction in diameter of the elastic rings. This means greater warming and wear. This inevitably also results in longitudinal deformations on the print carrier or paper web, which can shift up to the former. The consequence in turn is web tension fluctuations, which can have a negative effect on the longitudinal fold.
In diesen zeigen jeweils schematisch:
- Fig. 1 in a perspective view of the pair of pull rollers according to the invention and
- 2 shows a partial section through the pair of drawing rollers according to FIG.
As can be seen from Fig.l, a print carrier web (1), usually a paper web, coming from a former (2) is fed to a pair of draw rollers comprising two rollers (3 and 4). The rollers (3 and 4) can be mounted with their pins (5 and 6) between two side walls (7 and 7a). In this storage, the pull rollers (3, 4) are placed against each other. However, storage is preferably carried out in a single side wall or in a single side part (7), in which the drive for the pair of draw rollers (3, 4) is also accommodated or arranged.
The pull rollers (3, 4) are mounted eccentrically to the side part (7) which can be adjusted centrally in the side wall. This enables the pair of pulling rollers (3, 4) to be aligned with the funnel tips and an inexpensive possibility of correction to the print carrier webs (1).
The rollers (3, 4) shown are steel rollers. On their circumference they have grooves (8) running in the axial direction, between which there are webs (9) made of the base material, ie in the exemplary embodiment made of steel. The grooves (8) are provided with a material that is less elastic than the material of the webs (9). Plastic or gum arabic is suitable as an elastic strip (10) for filling the grooves (8). Preferably extend both the webs (9) and the grooves (8) or the elastic strips (10) over the entire length of the rollers (3, 4).
The width of the webs (9), based on the width of the elastic strips (10), is in each case seen in the circumferential direction, the same size but preferably smaller, as can be seen from FIG. This advantageously results in squeeze areas (11) which need only have a very small depth, for example in the micro range. As a result, a uniform tension for the transport of the print carrier web (1) is achieved over the entire width of the rollers (3, 4).
In addition, the production of the pair of draw rollers (3, 4) is based on the known draw rollers dealt with at the beginning. much easier, since only grooves running in the axial direction into the rollers e.g. must be milled, which are then filled with an elastic material. The division ratio between grooves and webs is determined as a function of the width of the rollers (3, 4) and their diameter and, if appropriate, of a predetermined permissible slip. As can be seen from FIG. 2, due to the dimensions given, according to which the width of the webs (9) is equal to or smaller than the width of the elastic strips (10), the webs penetrate slightly into the material of the elastic strips (10). a, whereby the squeeze areas (11) mentioned arise. This results in a small slip, which can be limited by the measure mentioned above.
