Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a hood-shaped ridge cover according to the preamble of the main claim. A ridge cover is generally known, which is hood-shaped and serves as a support and ventilation element. The known ridge cover has a fastening section running in the longitudinal direction of the ridge, on which the ridge cover is connected to the ridge batten. This is followed in cross-section by an upwardly curved hood-shaped area which runs in the direction of the roof pitch and which overlaps the roof tiles adjacent to the ridge. So that the ridge cover can form a seal against rain and snow, it is adapted at its end overlapping the roof tiles to the profile of the roof tiles. The ridge cover thus has a profile which is adapted as precisely as possible to the wave valleys and wave crests of the Dachstein profile.
In the area of the troughs, ventilation troughs are provided, the outward opening of which points in the direction of the roof pitch. The ventilation troughs ensure an air flow from the outside of the roof into the space below the ridge tiles, whereby the air on the other side of the roof can escape again through appropriate ventilation troughs. Since the ridge cover in the area of the ridge has openings that allow air to flow from below the roof tiles into the ridge area, good overall roof ventilation is achieved. The suction effect caused by the air flow through the ventilation troughs is particularly responsible for good roof ventilation is produced. In order for the ridge cover to provide protection against rain and snow to the desired extent and good ventilation can be achieved, appropriately shaped ridge covers of the known type are required, depending on the roof pitch.
The invention has for its object to provide a ridge cover that is suitable for different roof pitches in wide areas.
The solution to this problem is obtained by the features specified in the main claim. Accordingly, the hood-shaped ridge cover is characterized in that, when viewed in cross section, the upper part of the ridge cover F adjoining the fastening section is arched upwards relative to the fastening section and then initially merges into a straight section which is angled downwards and which at the vertices of the profiling of the roof tiles ends that this section of the profiled part is angled inward at an obtuse angle, this profiled part having recesses adapted to the profiling of the roof tiles and having a width corresponding to the height h of the profiling, such that the ventilation troughs on the outside pointing in the direction of the roof pitch Opening area have a curvature radius r, which corresponds approximately to the profile height h of the roof tiles, and that the curvature of the ventilation troughs with the radius is determined by the fact that the circular point lies on the upper edge of the profiled part.
By adapting the curvature radius to the profile height of the roof tiles, a ridge cover is obtained that is suitable for practically all roof pitches.
The radius of curvature can increase towards the firewall.
The section having the profiling is designed such that it sits vertically on the roof tiles with a roof pitch of 40 °. The obtuse angle can be 140 ° and the angle between the section running vertically downwards and the curved upper part can be 130 °.
In order to optimally adapt to different roof pitches, an elastic web protrudes at right angles from the outer end of the trough opening, which is part of the profiled section. The elastic web can have a width of a few millimeters and a lower material thickness than the other parts of the ridge cover. The desired elasticity is achieved due to the lower material thickness.
