Definitions
- the invention is based on a method and a device for connecting thin plates lying on top of one another by means of punching cams.
- connection of sheets by punching cams has long been known (DE-C 8 73 237).
- the main problem with this connection technology is the precise material processing with corresponding repeatability of the connection quality.
- This technique is particularly complicated because a deep-drawing and punching process is combined with a subsequent upsetting or squeezing process, although the tool relative movement between the punch and die takes place in the same axis, but the material movement first in the direction of this axis, but later radially during the squeezing process to do this. It is particularly difficult to master this radial movement in terms of its repeatability.
- the die is withdrawn after the punching and pressing process so far compared to the counter pressure surface, which is provided here on a flattening stamp, that only one of the two Plate pieces is inside the die, so that only the other plate piece can be widened during the squeezing process.
- the plates clamped for processing are loosened again when the die is moved back, which means that there is a risk that the plates will not be positively connected to one another.
- Another major disadvantage is that the device has to be constructed in a relatively complicated manner in order to carry out this backward movement of the die while the flattening die remains stationary. Last but not least, the workpiece must be ejected from the die in a further operation.
- the method according to the invention with the features of claim 1 and the device according to the invention with the features of claim 3 have the advantage that the entire connection can be produced in only one and therefore easily controllable working stroke of the punching and pressing punch, with punching, pressing and Squeezing, squeezing only the plate piece that is necessary for the interlocking. Since the counterpressure required for the punching process is lower than for the squeezing process, the flexibility of the counterpressure surface can be controlled with very simple static means, so that the counterpressure surface yields only when the necessary shearing process has ended during the punching, and then for the squeezing process in one to remain in a correspondingly shifted position. These elastic means advantageously also serve as ejection means for the workpiece from the die. Mechanical or hydraulic springs can serve as elastic means.
- the force of the elastic element can also be transmitted via a hydraulic column, so that a press working with hydraulic means can be used, with spatial advantages in particular.
- the plates to be connected can be metal sheets, but they can also consist partly of plastic.
- This manufacturing tool includes the pressing device, which of course must be suitable for carrying out the inventive method, but can be designed in a wide variety of ways.
- a punching and pressing die 1 which can be moved back and forth by the press device and a stationary die 2
- two plates 4 and 5 - for example metal sheets - to be connected to one another are arranged.
- these workpieces 4 and 5 can also be any strips or angles act that are to be connected with a plate.
- the punching and pressing die which can be moved back and forth in accordance with the double arrow I, has a prismatic end face with two end faces 6 which are oblique to the working direction I and one end face 7 running perpendicular to the working direction. Between these end faces 6 and 7 and the flat sides 8 of the punch 1 there are cutting edges 9 formed (Fig. 3).
- the die 2 has a central bore 10 in which a pinch stamp 11 is arranged to be axially displaceable.
- This pinch stamp 11 has at its upper end a cutting die 12, the cutting edges 13 of which cooperate with the cutting edges 9 of the punching and pressing die 1 and which are formed by edges between the upper end face 14 of the Crushing stamp 11 and a transverse groove 15, the base 16 serves as a counter pressure surface during the squeezing process.
- the pinch stamp 11 has a collar 18 which is guided in an enlarged section 17 of the central bore 10 and which is acted upon by an elastic element 19 which is only symbolically indicated here and which is secured against rotation in the bores 10 and 17 by means not shown. As a result, the rotational position of the pinch stamp 11 is secured within the die 2.
- the elastic element 19 is supported on the side facing away from the collar 18 on a base 20, which at the same time serves as a stroke limiter and thus a stop for the pinch stamp 11 by a pin 21 of the pinch stamp 11 after covering a certain stroke against the force of the elastic element 19 hits this floor 20.
- the base area 16 of the transverse groove 15 of the pinch punch 11 is just flush with the base area 22 of a die 23, which is provided in the die 2 corresponding to the end faces 6 and 7 of the punching and pressing die 1.
- the cutting edge 26 formed between the contact surface 24 of the die 2 and the longitudinal walls 25 of this die 23 interacts with the cutting edges 9 of the punching and pressing die 1 assigned to it.
- the width of the die 23 corresponds to the width of the transverse groove 15.
- the plate part 28 is then laterally bordered by the boundary walls of the groove 15 and its base 16 and by the die 23.
- the punching and pressing punch 1 continues in its working direction without interruption, the squeezing punch 11 giving way against the elastic element 19 before the processed material of the plate 4 begins to flow. Only when the pin 21 rests on the base 20 and thereby an "infinite" resistance arises does the upper plate part 27 begin to expand, its material flowing into the spaces which have arisen above the upper end face 14 of the pinch stamp 11 by its displacement. The cross-section of these spaces obtained corresponds to the segment surfaces 30 which can be seen in FIG. 2. The working movement of the stamping and pressing die 1 is then continued slightly over the underside of the lower plate 5, so that some material flows from the upper plate part 27 into the transverse groove 15 . In any case, however, as can be seen in FIG. 6, direct connection between the plates 4 and 5 and the plate parts 27 and 28 is maintained by the webs 31 and 32 pressed into the die 23.

Description
- Fig. 1 einen Schnitt durch ein Ausführungsbeispiel des erfindungsgemäßen Werkzeugs;
- Fig. 2 eine Ansicht des Gesenkes nach Linie 11-11 in Fig. 1;
- Fig. 3 einen Schnitt durch das Werkszeug nach Linie 111-111 in Fig. 1;
- Fig. 4 eine Werkzeugstellung nach Beendigung des Stanzvorgangs;
