Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for renewing refractory plates used in slide closures on metallurgical vessels as fixed bottom or adjustable slide plates, which have at least one flow opening damaged by a wear field and a closing surface.
It is known to prematurely wear, renew or repair or repair such plates at the flow opening as a result of cracks caused by thermal stresses, corrosive and erosive attacks by the pouring jet and frictional forces between the base plate and the slide plate, in order to reduce the cost due to the replacement of worn plates during operation. Instead of new plates, repaired plates are used, on which the wear area of the flow opening is basically machined and the plate meat lost in the process has been replaced by prefabricated inserts or filling material. Accordingly, in DE-PS 32 43 305 method steps are proposed, according to which the worn flow opening is bored concentrically to near the peripheral edge of the plate and the boring is filled with a refractory casting compound, keeping the flow cross-section clear, possibly including a prefabricated ring which defines the flow opening limited on the sliding surface of the plate. The repair is limited to the flow opening of the plate, the closing surface of which is ignored.
Object of the present invention is to simplify the plate repair and to improve its efficiency with the inclusion of the closing surface.
The object is achieved according to the invention essentially in that the worn plate is provided with a new flow opening on the closing surface and the worn flow opening is closed and formed as a new closing surface. In this way, refractory plates for slide closures can be balanced, both on the flow openings and on the closing surfaces, the process steps being simple to carry out and, moreover, bringing about a significantly improved service life of the plates which receive practically new flow openings and closing surfaces.
Worn outflow openings are advantageously closed after cleaning with a prepared stopper, which is used at least on the sliding surface of the plate with the help of refractory putty, mortar or the like, with filling of the wear field. The core of the newly drilled flow opening can serve as a plug for the old flow opening.
As an alternative to using a stopper, a cleaned, worn-out flow opening can also be filled up smoothly and evenly to the sliding surface with rapidly drying or setting, pourable, refractory material, including the wear field. This process is particularly simple and easy to carry out.

Of the refractory closure wear parts shown in FIG. 1, 1 means the stationary inlet sleeve and 2 the flow opening. Underneath, with an axially
The replaced old panels, the closing areas of which usually still have sufficient operational reliability, are visually inspected and thoroughly cleaned, preferably with a machine-operated one Steel brush, repaired or renewed. For this purpose, as shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, for example the
Instead of the stopper repair, the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 to 7 illustrates the repair of
In all cases, the renewal of the plates according to the invention is sufficient for safe operation. Nevertheless, it is possible to give the flat surface of the plate, which is intended as a sliding surface, an additional flat grinding.
