Abstract

The holder serves for fixing sheet-like picture material between a back wall (1) and a transparent front pane, which together with the picture material can be exchanged towards the front side. The back wall (1) is designed as one piece with a frame (2) extending around the inserted picture material and the front pane and projecting towards the face side. Frame segments disposed on opposing sides (3, 4) of the frame each support at least one holding attachment (5, 6) and each are cut free by a through-extending opening (12, 13) disposed adjacent the holding attachment, wherein in each case one of said openings is aligned with a holding attachment, exposing an area in the back wall (1) which is larger than the parallel projection of the projecting holding attachment. One (13) of the through-extending openings is shaped in a way such that it can be penetrated by the user with the end of a finger in order to lift out the picture material and front pane for exchanging the picture. The through-extending opening (13) is extended by slots to an extent such that the frame segment (4) disposed adjacent to said opening can be readily deformed for exchanging the picture and is capable of elastically returning to its initial position.

Description

The invention relates to a holder made of elastically deformable plastic for receiving sheet-shaped image material with a rear wall of the image material which is substantially continuously supporting the entire surface with at least two spaced-apart, inwardly projecting retaining lugs for fixing a transparent front pane pressing the image material against the rear wall and with at least two through openings arranged in the rear wall, each of which is aligned with at least one retaining attachment and whose opening cross section is at least as large as the protrusion of the at least one associated retaining attachment.

Ein derartiger Halter ist durch das DE-U-8 515 057 bekannt.Such a holder is known from DE-U-8 515 057.

In another known picture frame, four straight side profiles of the frame are each firmly glued to the rear wall. Each side of the frame has a retaining tab in the form of a rib that overlaps the edge of the windscreen. In the corner area, the adjacent frame sides meet in complementary butt joints and lie loosely on top of each other there. The connection point of each individual frame side with the rear wall forms a tilting edge, around which each side of the frame can be pivoted to such an extent that the front window can be removed. The butt joints at the corners of this known frame design can only be fully closed if the manufacture is very precise; Especially in the case of manufacturing tolerances or material fatigue, the butt joints in the corner area can shift, which on the one hand disturbs the external appearance of the entire frame and on the other hand affects the holding function of the short holding ribs. The rib-like retaining lugs must be manufactured separately and glued to the back wall exactly. A one-piece production of the known picture frame by injection molding is not possible because of the ribs projecting beyond the rear wall.

The invention has for its object to provide an easy-to-use, serving as a picture frame holder, which can be produced in one piece as an injection molded part in a particularly simple manner and maintains a reliable holding function of the sheet-shaped image material and a closed external appearance even after prolonged use.

Starting from a holder of the type mentioned at the outset, it is provided according to the invention to achieve this object that the holder has a projecting from the rear wall to the front to the current frame, from which on at least two different sides the retaining lugs are integrally formed in such a way that the through openings directly adjoin the frame sections and that at least one of the through openings runs along the immediately adjacent frame section in such a length that the frame section held at both ends in the frame assembly, with the expansion of the through opening until the associated retaining attachment is lifted out of its locking engagement above the windshield is.

The through openings in the region of the bottom wall near the edge enable the adjacent frame section to be lifted off from its abutment on the peripheral edges of the image material and the windshield in the manner of a bowstring, the elastically deformable plastic material of the adjacent frame section expanding accordingly. The adjacent retaining lug is moved away from the edge of the windshield, so that the latter is exposed for removal. As soon as the arched-out frame section is released, it jumps back into the starting position, since it is held taut by the adjacent frame sections, possibly by the two adjacent frame sides. The back wall ensures a practically complete, level support of the image material. Nevertheless, the cooler according to the invention can easily be injected in a two-part mold and ejected from the mold. The through openings in the rear wall make the undersides of the projecting holding approaches accessible for suitable projections of molding tools which are delivered from the rear when the holder is sprayed. It is important that the through openings correspond in terms of position, shape and size at least to the parallel projection of the holding lugs aligned with them. Preferably, the through openings are larger than the overhang projections, i.e. larger than their parallel projection. The mold can be easily opened after spraying, and the molded holder can be easily molded from the two mold halves, since there are no overhanging parts of the finished molded part which hinder the demolding process. The finished molded part is closed over the entire circumference, so that its shape determined by the manufacture is reliably retained even after repeated changing of the image material or expansion of the through opening or is restored after deformation.

In the design as a rectangular picture frame, the holder is further developed according to the invention in that inwardly projecting retaining lugs are formed on two opposite frame sides and in that the rear wall is cut free from these frame sides by slots which directly adjoin the associated frame sections and run parallel to the latter. The through openings can have slots which are arranged parallel to the associated and immediately adjacent to the frame sections. The slots preferably run only over a partial length of the adjacent frame sides in order to stabilize the frame in each case in the corner region by connection to the rear wall and to increase the restoring forces of the one-piece frame accordingly. On the other hand, it is possible to extend slots over the frame corner in order to create a sufficient elastic deformation stroke of the frame section, in particular in the case of holding approaches near the corner.

A particularly simple image change can be achieved in a further development of the invention in that at least one through opening is designed in size and shape in such a way that it can be passed through by the user with a fingertip. When the frame section spanning the through opening bulges out, the through opening can be passed through from the back of the frame with a fingertip and the sheet-like image material can be lifted out of the receiving trough together with the front pane. The through opening is preferably delimited in the form of a partial circle on its side facing away from the adjacent frame section.

The stability of the overall frame can be increased in spite of the fact that the frame section cut free in each case can be deflected more easily by the frame projecting rearward over the rear wall in the form of a collar. With such a design, there is sufficient space between the rear wall and the rear boundary plane of the frame in order to attach, preferably spray, a pot-shaped suspension device to the rear wall.

The depth of the receiving trough delimited by the frame is preferably greater than the common thickness of the image material and the windshield inserted into the frame, so that the image material and the front window are recessed in the receptacle. This enables the use of simply cut glass panes as a front pane. The sharp cut edges of such windshields are bordered and protected by the all-round edge of the holder according to the invention and practically invisible with a suitable fit. The risk of injury on the mostly relatively sharp outer cut edges is practically eliminated by the frame overlap even without complex edge grinding.

The rear wall and the frame carrying the retaining lugs are preferably designed as a one-piece injection molded part.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing. The drawing shows:
  • Figure 1 is a front view of the cold without front screen and images. and
  • Fig. 2 is a sectional view through the holder in the direction of section line 11-11 in Figure 1 with the windshield inserted.

The holder shown in the drawing has an all-round, rectangular frame 2 which is integral with a rear wall 1 and which projects over the flat rear wall 1 in the form of a collar both on the front side and on the rear side. On the front frame edge of two mutually opposite frame sides 3 and 4, tab-like holding projections 5 and 6 are formed, which protrude inward at a distance from the plane of the bottom wall 1 into a receiving trough into which the images and a clear front screen 7 can be inserted.

In the area of the retaining lugs 5 and 6, slots 10 and 11 are provided along the frame sides 3 and 4, which in the illustrated embodiment merge into an enlarged recess 12 and 13, respectively. For reasons of injection technology, each recess 12 and 13 has a size which corresponds at least to the projection area of the holding projections. The free cuts formed by the slots and recesses 10 ... 13 in the base plate 1 enable elastic deformation of the adjacent frame sections bearing at least one holding projection 5 or 6 to such an extent that the holding projections are disengaged from the position overlapping the edge of the pane, so that the front screen 7 can be lifted out of the frame recess. This elastic deformation of the frame section carrying the holding projection 6 is shown in dashed lines in FIG. As soon as the associated frame section is released, it resiliently returns to the straight original position shown in solid lines in FIG. 1, in which the associated holding attachment can positively overlap the image material with the front pane and brace it against the rear wall 1.

As can be seen in FIG. 1, the passage opening 13 is delimited approximately in a semicircular shape. It has such a large cross-section that the user can reach through it with the fingertip. In the bulged state of the associated frame section, the sheet-like image material and the front screen 7 can be lifted from the rear of the frame with the fingertip. As soon as the front screen 7 and the image material have been lifted out of the receiving trough, they can be pulled out between the rear wall 1 and the opposite retaining lugs 5. The frame sections 3 in the area of the slots and openings 10 and 12 can therefore be relatively rigid. On the other hand, it is also in alignment with the projecting ones Holding approaches 5 each provided such a large through opening 12 that the holder can be easily removed from the mold after spraying in a two-part form.

A suspension pot 14 provided with a bore 15 projects into the recess formed on the back of the rear wall 1 and delimited by the band-like frame sides. With the aid of a screw penetrating the bore 15 in the suspension pot 14, the holder shown can be screwed onto a suitable support wall. The lateral bulging of the cut-out frame sections, widening of the associated slots 10 and 11 and lifting out the associated holding approaches 5 and 6 can also be carried out without any problems if the holder is, for example, firmly mounted on a room wall.

Holder of elastically deformable plastic for receiving picture material in sheet form having a rear wall (1) supporting the surface of a rear side of the picture material substantially continuously, at least two mutually spaced, inwardly projecting, overhanging mounting lugs (5, 6) for securing a transparent front sheet (7) pressing the picture material against the rear wall (1) and at least two openings (12, 13) arranged in the rear wall (1) which are each aligned with at least one mounting lug and whose cross-section is at least as large as the overhang of the at least one associated mounting lug (5, 6), characterized in that the holder has a peripheral frame (2) projecting towards the front side from the rear wall (1), from which frame on at least two different sides the mounting lugs (5, 6) are formed to project inwardly, that the openings (3, 4) are directly adjacent to frame sections (3, 4) and that at least one (13) of the openings extends along the directly adjacent frame section (4) for such a length that the frame section, which is held at both ends in the frame unit, may be laterally bowed-out whilst broadening the opening (12, 13) until the associated mounting lug (5, 6) is disengaged from its locking engagement over the front sheet (7).
2. Holder as claimed in claim 1 constructed as a rectangular picture frame, characterised in that inwardly projecting mounting lugs (5, 6) are formed on two opposing frame sides (3, 4) and that the rear wall (1) is cut free from these frame sides (3, 4) by slits (10, 11) which are directly adjacent to the associated frame sections (3, 4) and extend parallel to the latter.
3. Holder as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the openings (12, 13) have slits (10, 11) which are arranged parallel to the associated frame sections (3,4) and directly adjacent to them.
4. Holder as claimed in one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that at least one opening (13) is so constructed as regards its size and shape that it can be engaged with a finger tip.
5. Holder as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the opening (13) has a part-circular edge on its side directed away from the adjacent frame section (4).
6. Holder as claimed in one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the frame (2) projects rearwardly beyond the rear wall (1) in the manner of a collar.
7. Holder as claimed in claim 6, characterized in that a cup-shaped suspension device (14) is injection moulded onto the rear wall (1).
8. Holder as claimed in one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the rear wall (1) and the frame (2) carrying the mounting lugs (5, 6) are constructed as an integral injection moulded component.
9. Holder as claimed in one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the depth of a receiving recess defined by the frame (2) is larger than the combined thickness of the picture material and front sheet (7) so that picture material and front sheet are disposed recessed in the receiving recess.
