Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing a roof skin from roof tiles which are placed on a base, the roof tiles placed overlapping with their respective adjacent roof tiles in strips.
- the invention relates to a roof tile for producing a roof skin with at least one bearing surface supporting it in the installed state.
- Such methods for producing a roof skin are generally carried out in such a way that the roof tiles to be placed on a roof structure are individually wrapped in a cardboard cover, the so-called cardboard dock, and then applied to the roof structure.
- This covering cardboard has the property of being permanently, tightly and storm-proof connected to the roof tiles by the action of heat as a result of solar radiation and in this way producing a continuously tight roof skin.
- this method has the disadvantage that in addition to applying the roof tiles to the roof structure, two further operations are necessary. On the one hand, an equal number of cardboard docks must be placed on the roof next to the roof tiles, and on the other hand, each individual roof tile must be wrapped with a cardboard dock before it can be placed in its final place on the roof structure. This additional work means that longer roofing times are required for roofing using the cardboard docking method.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to improve the roofing method of the type mentioned in the introduction so that roofing can be carried out more easily, more quickly and more cost-effectively than with the previous methods.
- the adhesive strip can already be applied during the manufacture of the individual roof tiles under very favorable manufacturing conditions. This makes the application of the adhesive strip much cheaper than wrapping the roof tile in a cardboard dock. It also reduces the time it takes to lay the roof tiles. Just because of the favorable time calculation, which is made possible by a roof tile provided with an adhesive strip, a cost saving of up to 33 1/3% can be expected compared to the use of previously common roof tiles using the cardboard docking method.
- Another object of the present invention is therefore to improve the roof tile of the type mentioned in that it can be installed without cardboard docks.
- This adhesive strip extends directly on the contact surface. It therefore has no possibility of shifting relative to the support surface or of forming waves on the support surface. A very exact installation of the individual roof tiles both on top of one another and on their base is therefore possible. In the area of the adhesive strips, the roof tiles are glued for a very short time, without having to reckon with places where the surfaces to be glued together are not to be expected due to the lack of a sufficiently smooth covering of the roof tile on a cardboard dock.
- a roof tile 1 which can have any known shape.
- a roof tile 1 essentially consists of an underside 7 facing a base 16 and an upper side 12 lying opposite it.
- knobs 5 which rise on the underside 7 in a direction pointing away from the upper side 12. They extend on an upper edge 13, which delimits both the lower side 7 and the upper side 12, with which the roof tile 1 points upwards in the direction of a roof slope.
- the holding claws 5 are designed as narrow elevations which extend essentially parallel to the upper edge 13. They consist of two mutually approximately parallel flanks 17, 18, an upper one of which extends along the upper edge 13, while the lower flank 18 faces a lower edge 8 which runs approximately parallel to the upper edge 13 and both the underside 7 and the one Top 12 each limited on their sides facing away from the upper edge 13.
- the holding clicks 5 serve to support the roof tile 1 on a roof batten 10 which extends across the slope of the roof on the base 16.
- the roof tile 1 bears against this batten 10 in a groove 19 which is formed by the underside 7 on the one hand and the flank 18 on the other hand.
- the groove 19 runs parallel to both the lower edge 8 and the upper edge 13.
- two retaining clips 5 are attached to the upper edge 13 of the roof tile 1 at a predetermined distance from one another.
- a contact surface 4 with which the roof tile 1 rests on a roof batten 10.
- an adhesive strip 6 extends, which can consist of bitumen, for example.
- the roof tile On its upper side 12, the roof tile has a brim 21 along a side edge 20 connecting the lower edge 8 to the upper edge 13, said brim rising slightly in a direction facing away from the underside 7 from a plane spanned by the upper side 12.
- This brim 20 is formed on its lower surface facing away from the upper side 12 as an overlap surface 9 with which the brim 21 rests on a roof tile 1 which lies on the same roof batten 10 directly next to the roof tile 1.
- the overlap surface 9 is provided with profile grooves 11 which extend substantially in the longitudinal direction of the roof tile 1 from its upper edge 13 in the direction of its lower edge 8. These profile grooves 11 form a support surface 4, with which the roof tile 1 acts on a fold 22 of the roof tile 1 lying next to it.
- This fold 22 has on its upper side 12 facing away from the underside 7 a bearing surface 15 which extends along a side edge 23 which delimits the roof tile 1 on its side opposite the side edge 20 and runs approximately parallel to the side edge 20.
- the fold 22 is formed on its upper side 12 as a support surface 4 on which the support surface 4 of a brim formed on the adjacent roof tile 1 rests.
- Profile grooves 11 extend through the support surface 4 and extend approximately parallel to one another from the upper edge 13 to the lower edge 8 of the roof tile 1. In at least one of these profile grooves 11, an adhesive strip 6 is formed which is suitable for performing an adhesive bond with the bearing surface 4 of the adjacent brim 21.
- a further adhesive strip 6 runs on the upper side 12 parallel to the upper edge 13. Between this adhesive strip 6 and the upper edge 13 there is a strip 24 of the surface 12 which does not stick.
- the width of this strip 24 corresponds approximately to the width of the retaining clips 5.
- the width of this adhesive strip 24 is to be dimensioned such that the retaining clips 5 of a roof tile 1 resting on the upper side 12 never come into contact with the adhesive strip 6 when the roof tiles 1 for example, are stacked on top of each other for the purpose of packaging.
- the roof tiles 1 with their retaining clips 5 are placed on the roof battens 10, so that the roof tile 1 acts on the roof battens 10 with the groove 19.
- the roof tile 1 adjacent to the roof tile 1 is placed on the roof batten 10 in the same way.
- the two adjacent roof tiles 1 are aligned so that the brim 21 of one roof tile 1, with its overlap surface 9, overlaps a bearing surface 4 which is formed on the fold 22 of the adjacent roof tile 1. So soon the entire underlay 16 has been covered with roof tiles 1 in this way, it can be expected that the adhesive strips 6 will soften during a next warming period and, during the subsequent re-hardening, carry out an adhesive bond both with the roof battens 10 and with the adjacent roof tiles 1 . In this way, the entire roof is covered by a coherent roof skin that is sealed against both wind and moisture.
- the support surface 4 of the brim 20 with an adhesive strip 6.
- the adhesive strip 6 should extend through one of the profile grooves 11 so that it is prevented that when the roof tiles 1 are stacked, two roof tiles 1 adjacent in the stack are bonded in the area of the brim 21.
- through holes 25 are preferably provided in the retaining knobs 5. These through holes 25 extend in the longitudinal direction of the roof tile 1 from its upper edge 13 in the direction of the lower edge 8. They open on the flank 18 of the click 5 facing the lower edge 8, with which it clicks against the roof batten 10. A nail protruding through the through hole 25 can be driven into a side surface 26 of the roof batten 10 lying at the top in the direction of the roof pitch.
- transverse holes 27 in the roof tile 1, which extend from its top 12 towards the bottom 7.
- These cross holes 27 are expediently located in the area of the support surface 4 with which the roof tile 1 rests on the roof batten 10. It can therefore protrude through the adhesive strip 6 attached in the throat 19. If an adhesive strip 6 should also be attached to the top 12 of the roof tile 1 parallel to its upper edge 13, the transverse hole 27 also projects through this adhesive strip.
- the clinging of the roof tiles 1 with the help of the through holes 25 is more expedient than the attachment of the transverse holes 27.
- the retaining hook 5 with its flank 18 bears better on the side surface 26 of the roof batten 10 than the underside 7 on a surface 28 of the roof batten 10 facing it. Should the roof tile 1 not on the surface 28 lie sufficiently flat, there is a risk that when driving the nail through the transverse holes 27, the roof tile 1 is smashed.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a roof skin from roof tiles which are placed on a base, the roof tiles placed overlapping with their respective adjacent roof tiles in strips.
In addition, the invention relates to a roof tile for producing a roof skin with at least one bearing surface supporting it in the installed state.
Such methods for producing a roof skin are generally carried out in such a way that the roof tiles to be placed on a roof structure are individually wrapped in a cardboard cover, the so-called cardboard dock, and then applied to the roof structure. This covering cardboard has the property of being permanently, tightly and storm-proof connected to the roof tiles by the action of heat as a result of solar radiation and in this way producing a continuously tight roof skin.
However, this method has the disadvantage that in addition to applying the roof tiles to the roof structure, two further operations are necessary.
The object of the present invention is therefore to improve the roofing method of the type mentioned in the introduction so that roofing can be carried out more easily, more quickly and more cost-effectively than with the previous methods.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the individual roof tiles are provided with adhesive strips on their support surfaces (2) before being placed on their base.
By applying this adhesive strip to the contact surfaces on which the roof tiles either apply to their base or to each other, the prerequisite is created for the properly laid roof tiles to stick to one another and to their base as soon as the adhesive strip can develop its adhesive force due to the action of heat. The roof tile provided with the adhesive strip therefore no longer needs to be wrapped in a cardboard dock before laying. This means that both the provision of appropriate cardboard docks and the wrapping process are no longer required. Another advantage results from the fact that the roof tile provided with the adhesive strip can be laid more easily and more accurately than the roof tile wrapped in the cardboard dock. Finally, when using the roof tiles provided with an adhesive strip, the required and processed amount of sealing and insulating material is reduced by approximately 20% compared to the conventional wrapping method.
The adhesive strip can already be applied during the manufacture of the individual roof tiles under very favorable manufacturing conditions.
In the roof tiles used so far, there was a great need for cardboard docks, since these also extended to those parts of the roof tile where the roof tiles were not glued to one another or to the roof tile with its base.
In addition, a warm and cold period had to be waited for in the cardboard docks until they extended exactly and just below the roof tiles.
Another object of the present invention is therefore to improve the roof tile of the type mentioned in that it can be installed without cardboard docks.
This object is achieved in that at least one support surface is provided with an adhesive strip.
This adhesive strip extends directly on the contact surface.
Further details of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description and the accompanying drawings, in which preferred embodiments of the invention are illustrated, for example.

The method according to the invention is expediently carried out with a
The
As a rule, two
On its
In addition, a further
After the
In addition, it is possible, but not necessary, to also provide the
It is also conceivable to apply an
Finally, it is conceivable to provide only two
In addition to the illustrated fastening options for the adhesive bonding of
In addition, however, it is also conceivable to provide
