Abstract

A self service printer is improved by providing for temporary storage of several printed documents to be issued as a bundle. An opening in the housing for the printer is normally closed by a pivotable cover behind which documents are accumulated and stored, a first set of transport rollers including drive and pressure rollers is arranged behind the cover and being provided for cumulatively holding and moving one or more individual documents; second set of transport rollers is disposed upstream from the first set of rollers and operated in opposition such that the first set provides for holding or transport and the second set is open and vice versa; a control device operates the cover and said transport roller sets and provides (i) a closed disposition of said cover in an open position for said first set of rollers permitting insertion of documents in between through the second set, (ii) a closed disposition for the cover as well as closed disposition of the first transport roller set for holding and storing documents in between, and (iii) providing issuance of the documents for open cover and closed first set of transport rollers, said transport rollers then being driven; the second set is open during (ii) and (iii).

Diese Kontoauszüge haben normalerweise eine ganz bestimmte Länge, und in einigen Fällen kann es vorkommen, daß der Kunde solange seine Kontoauszüge nicht abgeholt hat, daß ein Formular nicht dafür ausreicht, sämtliche Kontenbewegungen aufzunehmen. By using the two motors 41 for the transport movement and 64 for the control movements, it is possible to control transport movements and control movements completely separately from one another, so that the electronic control becomes clear and simple. Dieser Anschlag enthält noch Dämpfungsfedern 78, die an der Schwenkklappe 30 als Blattfedern befestigt sind. Man erkennt in FIG. 4, daß die Transportrollenpaare 31 einander berühren, so daß die hier befindlichen Belege sich nicht verschieben können. Anders dagegen die Transportrollen 21, die in diesem Falle geöffnet sind, so daß ein neuer Beleg 20, der zwischen den Führungsplatten 18 und 19 zugeführt wird, zwischen die Antriebsrollen 22 und die Andrückrollen 23 eintreten kann. Dies ist die sog. Gleichzeitig wird aber auch der Motor 41 bestromt, so daß die Antriebsrollen 33 um ein gewisses Maß angetrieben werden, d.h. der Belegstapel wird bis zu einem ganz bestimmten Grade vorgeschoben. Es ist dann der Bedienungsperson überlassen, den Stapel anzufassen und herauszuziehen, was durch den Reibungsschluß zwischen der Achse 52 und dem Riemenrad 51 ermöglicht wird. Sobald der Fühler 75 meldet, daß keine Belege mehr zwischen den Transportrollen 31 vorhanden sind, wird an die Elektronik der Steuereinrichtung der Befehl gegeben, die Anordnung wieder in die Grundstellung gemäß FIG. 4 zurückzuführen, d.h. also insbesondere die Schwenkklappe 30 wieder in ihre Ausgangsstellung zu bringen.If a signal is now given by the printer that the printing process is complete, that is to say that the receipts can be issued or removed, then the transport rollers 21 and 31 retain their position according to FIG. 4, i.e. the position they occupy in the basic position. Claims (10)

1. A device for temporarily stacking documents prior to their controlled output for combination with a self-service printer, comprising an output opening (29) for the ejection of the stacked documents (20), a swing gate (30) which opens and closes the output opening (29) and which serves as stop means for the documents (20) to be stacked, a first pair of transportation rollers (31) consisting of drive rollers (22) and pressure rollers (33) which are arranged directly in front of the swing gate (30) considered in the transportation direction and which serves on the one hand to cumulatively retain and on the other hand to transport a plurality of documents (20), and a control device (40) for the flow control of the opening and closing movement of the swing gate (30) and of the pair of transportation rollers (31) and their drive means, wherein
a) the introduction of the documents (20) into the device takes place with the swing gate (30) closed and the pair of transportation rollers (31) open,
b) the documents are held fast with the swing gate (30) closed and the pair of transportation rollers (31) closed but not driven and
c) for the output of the documents (20) the swing gate (30) is opened and the pair of transportation rollers (31) is closed and driven.
2. A device as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that a stacking space (25) which comprises upper and lower guide plates (27, 28, 26) is arranged in front of the pair of transportation rollers (31) considered in the direction of transportation.
3. A device as claimed in Claim 2, characterised in that in front of the stacking space (25) considered in the direction of transportation is arranged a second pair of transportation rollers (21) which com- ' prises drive rollers (22) and pressure rollers (23) and which is driven by the control device (40) in the opposite direction to the first pairs of transportation rollers (31) and which serves to conduct the documents (20) to the first pair of transportation rollers (31).
4. A device as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the control device (40) comprises a cam control unit (59 to 63) which is driven in both directions of rotation by a motor (64).
5. A device as claimed in Claim 3, characterised in that the oppositely directed drive of the first and second pairs of transportation rollers (31, 21) takes place in such manner that the pressure rollers (32) of the first pair of transportation rollers (31) are arranged above the drive rollers (22, 33) and the pressure rollers (23) of the second pair of transportation rollers (21) are arranged below the drive rollers (22, 23) and that the pressure rollers (32, 23) of the first and second pairs of transportation rollers (31, 21) are supported by a common control lever (38) which forms part of the control device and which in its two opposite positions brings either one or the other of the pressure rollers (23, 32) into contact with the drive rollers (22, 33).
6. A device as claimed in Claim 4, characterised in that the drive rollers (33, 22) are driven by a separate motor (41).
7. A device as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that on the inside of the swing gate (30) are arranged damping springs (78) which brake the impact of the documents before they reach the swing gate (30).
8. A device as claimed in Claim 3, characterised in that a guide plate (19) conducts the documents (20) to the second pair of transportation rollers (21) in a direction such that the document is guided upwards and is thus guided by the upper guide plates (27, 28) into the stacking position between the first pair of transportation rollers (31).
9. A device as claimed in Claim 5, characterised in that the control levers (38 and 39) are connected to one another by a swing axle (55) which acts as torsion spring and which assures the contact of the drive rollers (32) and pressure rollers (33) along the entire length of the pressure roller axles (37, 80).
10. A device as claimed in Claims 1 and 3, characterised in that the drive rollers (32) and pressure rollers (33) are produced from a material having a high friction coefficient and low Shore hardness.
