Definitions
- the polyacrylate has reactive carboxyl groups.
- the polyacrylate is free of reactive carboxyl groups, which does not rule out that the polyacrylate contains small amounts of carboxyl groups due to the manufacturing process.
- a second invention is based on the object, a suitable coating for the primer mentioned above to accomplish.
- an aqueous dispersion is used as the coating to be applied to the primer, which comprises an aliphatic, reactive carboxyl group-containing polyurethane, a reactive carboxyl group-containing or free of such carboxyl group, optionally a pigment and possibly a hardener contains, the ratio of polyurethane to polyacrylate between 90:10 and 10:90, in particular between 80:20 and 20:80, in particular between 70:30 and 30:70, in particular between 60:40 and 40:60.
- Such a coating not only adheres well, it also does not attack the plastic (through the primer) and is also environmentally friendly.
- the above object is achieved in that a mixture is used as the coating to be applied to the primer, which contains a polymer containing hydroxyl groups as a binder, in particular polyacrylate and / or polyester, an organic solvent, optionally a pigment and a hardener, in particular an isocyanate, contains.
- a mixture is used as the coating to be applied to the primer, which contains a polymer containing hydroxyl groups as a binder, in particular polyacrylate and / or polyester, an organic solvent, optionally a pigment and a hardener, in particular an isocyanate, contains.
- This coating also adheres well and does not or hardly attacks the plastic under the primer through the primer.
- ABS acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers
- PA polyamide
- POM paintable polyoxymethylene
- PUR polyurethane
- PVC polyvinycnioria
- EPDM polypropylene rubber modified
- PVCA vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymers
- UP unsaturated polyester
- EP pretreated e.g. flamed Polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (FF), polyphenylene oxide (PPO), in particular Noryl 731-802, polybutylene terephthalate (PBTP), GRP, polystyrene (PS)
- ABS acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers
- PA polyamide
- POM paintable polyoxymethylene
- PUR polyurethane
- PVC polyvinycnioria
- EPDM polypropylene rubber modified
- PP-EPDM vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymers
- UP
- the dispersion be applied with or without pigments as the first and optionally only layer.
- the dispersion can be used quite generally as a coating for plastics, regardless of whether it contains pigments or not: it does not attack the plastic and is environmentally friendly.
- a second layer is applied to the first dispersion, it may contain organic solvents. These do not or hardly penetrate through the first layer. However, there is a further improvement in terms of non-interference with the plastic substrate if the second layer is also a dispersion according to the invention.
- the dispersion according to the invention can be used particularly advantageously for coating hard PVC parts, in particular window parts, because PVC must be coated, since it would otherwise be degraded by the weather. It is particularly expedient if the layer to be applied directly to the rigid PVC parts contains a pigment and if, when a second layer is provided, this is an aqueous dispersion corresponding to the first layer (with or without pigment). If there is no pigment in the second layer, it may contain a UV absorber. If a metal pigmentation is provided for the second layer, it is expedient to first apply a metal base lacquer to the first layer and, after it has dried, the clear lacquer according to the invention or a top lacquer containing a metal pigment.
- polyurethane dispersions are used which, at a solids content (% by weight) of 25-5o%, preferably 35-4o%, have a consistency of ⁇ 3000 mPas, preferably loo- 5oo mpas .
- the liquid portion need not only consist of water, but it can also consist of 75-99% by weight, in particular 81-92% by weight, water and 25-1% by weight, in particular 19-8% by weight, of organic solvents and added neutralization means exist.
- Such a dispersion that is completely or largely free of organic solvents does not attack the plastic that is coated. In addition, the dispersion cannot cause contamination of the atmosphere.
- the dispersion can be used with and without a curing accelerator.
- the otherwise customary pigments can be used as the pigment.
- the aqueous dispersion can be applied by the usual methods.
- the primer or coatings can also have additives, such as butchers, leveling agents.
- the invention also relates to the fabrics according to the claims.
