Description

The invention relates to a stapling device for a sheet stack with an elongated connecting element, in particular a cord or a binding thread, which can be passed through a perforation of the sheet stack, and with a clamping device for the connecting element, which is formed by a, preferably circular, plate which forms one has starting from the edge of the plate, approximately perpendicular to the edge to about the middle of the plate extending first slot for the insertion of the connecting element. Such a stapling device is known from US-A-1 410 799 in which a narrow tongue is punched out of the plate, which protrudes from the top of the plate and under which the twine inserted into the slot perpendicular to the edge of the plate is clamped becomes. The tongue protrudes over the top of the plate and is therefore annoying because it can get caught in the sheets of a stack placed on it. In addition, the clamping due to a narrow tongue does not offer secure attachment. From GB-A 691 594 a stapling device has become known, the clamping device of which consists of a flat plate and a concave plate connected to it by a central hollow rivet. The string must be passed through the rivet, which is difficult. The string must then be drawn in between the two plates. The edge of the concave plate lies against the edge of the flat plate, so that a cavity is formed between the two plates, which prevents the binding thread from jamming securely. Both plates are made of thin, flexible material so that there is a risk that the twine will be cut through the edge of the concave plate after repeated use.

The object of the invention is to provide a simple, easy-to-use, cheap and secure stapling device create. The invention consists essentially in the fact that the plate has a starting from the opposite of the mouth of the first slot edge of the plate at an acute angle to the edge of the plate or to the edge tangent to the edge that the through the second slot and Plate edge limited acute-angled plate part is bent obliquely to one side of the plate surface and that the edge of the plate on the opposite surface of the bend is chamfered from the second slot over the acute-angled plate part to the first slot, the surface having the beveled edge in the tack position Plate rests on the sheet stack and the bent acute-angled plate part is exposed and the string or the like. is clamped between the plate and the stack of sheets.

When stacks of sheets are stapled, the elongated connecting element, for example the cord or twine, is pulled through a hole in the sheet stack in a known manner. The clamping device is placed on the surface of the sheet stack and the cord or twine is inserted into the first slot. Since this slot extends approximately to the middle of the plate, the cord lies in the center of the plate. According to the invention, the twine is then inserted into the second slot. Since this is at an acute angle to the edge of the plate or to the tangent to it and the acute-angled plate part is bent up, the twine passes through this slot to the underside of the plate and can be drawn in against the acute angle on the underside of the plate between the plate and the stack of sheets , whereupon it can be pushed back into the first slot. This way is a safe one Clamping the cord in the clamping device and thus a cohesion of the sheet stack achieved. The clamping device is placed on the sheet stack in such a way that the bent, acute-angled plate part delimited by the second slot and the plate edge lies at the top. It is thus easily possible to insert the cord or twine by simply wrapping it around the clamping device in the second slot. Characterized in that the edge of the plate on the opposite side of the bend is chamfered from the second slot over the acute-angled plate part to the first slot, it is easily possible to draw the cord between the sheet stack and the surface of the plate resting on the sheet stack and to the first slot to finally fix the cord. The loosening of the tightened clamping device is then easily possible again, in that the cord or the twine is wound around the clamping device in the other direction, whereby it emerges again from the second slot. You can now pull the cord or twine out of the first slot, in which case the stitching device is completely detached. When stapling a stack of sheets, in particular when stapling a stack of continuous forms in a fan fold, the stack is now often partially covered by the clamping device. You can now simply leave the cord or twine in the first slot, only to loosen the clamping device so far that it is removed from the sheet stack and the writing can be read. Here, the elongated connecting element has the advantage that it can be loosened to such an extent that the leaves can be turned over without them becoming disorganized, since the elongated connecting element, such as a cord or string, keeps them in their order. The invention thus offers significant advantages with respect to an inexpensive, simple and easy-to-use clamping device. According to the invention, the second slot delimiting the acute-angled plate part is expedient at approximately 60 ° inclined against the tangent to the edge of the plate at the location of the mouth of the slot. Such an inclination of this second slot makes it easier to pull the cord into the gap between the plate and the stack of sheets. It can also be bent up the plate part between the first slot and the bevelled plate edge on the same side as the acute-angled plate part, so that the first insertion of the binding thread or the like. is facilitated in the first slot. The width of the slits can be slightly smaller than the thickness of the twine or the like. be. As a result, the twine is better clamped in the slots.

For stapling a stack of sheets, two cords penetrating holes in the stack of sheets and two clamping devices are usually necessary. However, according to the invention, the clamping device can advantageously also be formed by an elongated rail, at the ends of which, preferably circularly rounded, the first and the second slot are arranged starting from the long sides of the rail. In this case, a rail, which carries a clamping device at each end, is sufficient, and the design of this clamping device as a rail is advantageous with regard to stable stitching. Since the slots extend from the long sides of the rail, the cord can be inserted into the clamping devices in the same way as when the clamping device is designed as a circular plate. It is advantageous here if the first slot and second slot provided on the right end of the rail each start from the other longitudinal edge of the rail than the first slot and second slot provided on the left end of the rail. Such a design is advantageous because, on the one hand, the same tool can be used to shape the two ends of the rail and, above all, the twine in the two clamping devices formed on the rail ends can be inserted in the same way in the second slot and the cords attached the two ends of the rail Wrapping around in the same sense can be drawn into the gap between the rail and the stack of sheets.

The clamping device according to the invention is of particular advantage for stapling stacks of sheets, in particular stacks of continuous forms in fan-fold fold.

In the drawing, the invention is explained using exemplary embodiments.

Fig. 2 zeigt einen Schnitt nach Linie II-II der Fig. 1. Fig. 3 ist eine Ansicht in Richtung des Pfeiles III. Fig. 4 zeigt die Klemmvorrichtung an einem Blattstapel. Fig. 1 shows a clamping device with a circular plate in plan view. Fig. 2 shows a section along line II-II of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a view in the direction of arrow III. Fig. 4 shows the clamping device on a sheet stack. Fig. 5 shows a clamping device formed by a rail.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, the clamping device is formed by a circular plate 1. This plate has a first slot 2 starting from its edge. On the opposite side of the plate, a second slot 3 is provided, which is at an acute angle α to a tangent 4, which is placed on the edge of the plate 1 at the location of the mouth of this second slot. The angle is approximately 60 °. This second slot delimits an acute-angled plate part 5, which is bent at its tip 6 to one side of the plate.

As shown in FIG. 4, the plate 1 is placed on the sheet stack 7. A cord 8 (also called twine) is pulled through a hole in the perforation 9 of the sheet stack and inserted into the first slot 2 and pushed to the end of this slot, in which position it penetrates the plate 1 approximately centrally. The cord is then inserted into the second slot 3 from above, which in turn It is easier that the tip 6 of the acute-angled plate part 5 is bent upwards. The cord is then drawn into the gap between the plate 1 and the sheet stack 7, which is facilitated in that the plate has a bevel 10 on its underside. The cord 8 can then be drawn back into the first slot 2 from below. The width of the slits is somewhat smaller than the thickness of the cord 8 and it is therefore already possible to clamp the cord when the cord is drawn into the second slot. The cord can then be easily pulled back into the second slot 3 and pulled back into the gap between the plate 1 and the sheet stack 7 at the point of the bevel 10.

Wie Fig. 3 zeigt, kann am Rand der Platte 1 an der Unterseite derselben eine Rille 17 vorgesehen sein, in welcher die Schnur aufgenommen wird.1 shows, the slots 2 and 3 are expanded at their transition point in the circumference of the plate 1, as indicated by 11 and 12. As shown in FIG. 3, a groove 17 in which the cord is received can be provided on the edge of the plate 1 on the underside thereof.

As shown in FIG. 1, the plate 1 has on its side opposite the acute-angled plate part 5 two holes 13, the diameter of which is larger than the width of the slots 2 and 3. These holes 13 enable the end of the cord to be pulled through and fixed. The other end is then inserted into slots 2 and 3 in the manner described above. In this way, the clamping device 1 can also be used to produce a lacing.

The ends 15 of the strip are rounded and form clamping devices in the manner described in connection with FIGS. 1 to 3. Since the slots 2 and 3 extend from the longitudinal sides 16 of the strip 14, the cord can be clamped in the same way as in the case of the clamping plates according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3.
