Description

The invention relates to a roof covering element, in particular a concrete roof tile, on the underside of which there is a hanging ledge and a foot rib and in the overlap or overlap area next to the foot rib and parallel to this at least two transverse ribs which have a smaller thickness than the foot rib, with the base surface of the foot rib parallel runs to the outer surface of the roofing element.

Roofing elements of this type are e.g. known from AT-PS 278 321. However, the sealing behavior and the resting of such roofing elements on a roofing element arranged underneath is not optimal and moisture and wind penetrate.

The aim of the invention is to design such roofing elements so that they ensure the greatest possible tightness against the ingress of moisture or drafts when the roof is completely covered.

According to the invention, in the case of a roof covering element of the type mentioned at the outset, the thickness of the roof covering element, which may have an S-shaped or wavy cross-section, is slightly smaller, up to a maximum of 6%, in the apex of the transverse rib located most distant from the foot rib, in order to increase the tightness of the roof covering element than the thickness of the roof covering element in the foot rib, and that between the foot rib and the transverse rib located furthest from the foot rib, further transverse ribs have a lower height than the transverse rib located most distant from the foot rib. The cross rib, which is only slightly shorter than the foot rib and is furthest away from the foot rib, avoids rearing up, but at the same time creates a space between itself and the foot rib that is available as a swirl chamber for penetrating air currents, so that an penetrating air flow calms down and penetrates moisture can flow off without being influenced by capilarity due to the sloping roof on the respective lower or covered roof covering element. The pressure of the penetrating air is reduced and a regulated pressure compensation between the swirl chamber and the interior of the roof or the space below the roof covering is permitted. The dimensioning of the further cross rib (s) with a lower height than the cross rib which is furthest away from the foot rib improves the effect of the swirl chamber and thus the sealing effect between the roof covering elements in the overlapping area. It is preferred if the thickness of the roof covering element in the apex of the further transverse ribs located between the foot rib and the transverse rib most distant from the foot rib is less than the thickness of the roof covering element by about 8 to 16%, preferably about 10 to 12% the rib of the foot.

The flow conditions with regard to the sealing and minimization of a draft in the roof interior are further improved if the thickness of the roof covering element above the groove base of the grooves between the foot rib and the further transverse ribs or between these and the transverse rib most distant from the foot rib is the same .

Overall, the roof covering element is easy to manufacture and stable, with an optimal sealing effect.

The invention is explained in more detail below, for example, with reference to the drawing.

The drawing shows two roof covering elements 3 in the overlap area in section. In the present case, the roof covering elements have an S-shaped or wavy shape in cross section (perpendicular to the plane of the drawing). On a roof 1 a battens 2 is attached, on which the roofing elements 3 are suspended with a hanging bar 7, so that roofing elements 3, which are suspended on a higher level battens, on roofing elements 3, an underlying row with their overlap or foot area lie on. The foot region of a roof covering element 3 according to the invention has a foot rib 4 which has a base surface 11 which runs in sections parallel to the longitudinal extension or to the corrugation parallel to the outer surface 12 of the roof covering element. A further transverse rib 6 and a transverse rib 5, which is furthest away from the foot rib 4, adjoin the foot rib 4 with the interposition of grooves 13 and 14, respectively. Hiebei it is provided that the thickness 8 of the roofing element 3 measured in the apex of the transverse rib 5 furthest from the foot rib is slightly less, up to a maximum of 6%, preferably 2 to 4%, than the height of the end face 10 or the thickness the rib 4.

The further transverse rib 6, which is located between the foot rib 4 and the transverse rib 5 which is furthest away from the foot rib 4, has a thickness 9 in the apex which is approximately 8 to 16%, preferably approximately 10 to 12%, less than the height of the end face 10 or the thickness of the rib 4.

In the groove base of the groove 13 and the groove 14, the roof covering element has thicknesses which are in each case identical to one another.

The foot rib 4 and the transverse ribs 5 and 6 follow the corrugation or the S-shaped shape of the roofing element and have the features according to the invention over their entire course.

In principle, it is possible for one or more transverse ribs to be arranged in the overlapping area outside the transverse rib 5 furthest away from the foot rib 4, or for more than one further transverse rib 6 between the foot rib 4 and the transverse rib 5 most distant from the foot rib 4 is provided.

The cross-section of the roof tiles can be S-shaped or wave-shaped or straight and curved sections or exclusively straight sections or can be straight.
