Description

The invention relates to a rotor for a device for cleaning carpets and upholstery materials according to US-A-4 095 303 according to the preamble of claim 1. It is known to use textiles such as carpets and upholstery fabrics using shampooates, foams or according to RAL 991 A2 to clean. It is also known to clean carpets after prior treatment with a chemical agent using carpet cleaning machines with rotating brushes which mechanically loosen the dirt particles from the fibers of the carpets. However, this method has the disadvantage that the treated carpets may dry until they are completely dry. cannot be entered for up to several days.

From US-A-4 186 030 and 4 067 082 it has also become known to clean carpets and carpets with the aid of suitable cleaning chemicals by means of electrostatic force. Here, a mobile frame is provided, which provides an electric motor that can be connected to a rotor with an insulating material disc, on the underside of which a cleaning mat made of pile fabric or the like can be attached. The rotation of the cleaning mat on the carpet creates an electrostatic field due to friction. The design and arrangement is such that the rotor with the cleaning mat on the one hand and the Carpet sprayed with a suitable cleaning chemical, on the other hand, is charged unevenly, whereby the dirt particles come loose from the carpet and are deposited on the cleaning mat attached to the rotor due to the effective electrostatic forces.

The device according to US-A-4 095 303 works according to the same principle, the rotor of which is made up of an upper annular clutch disk for the drive and a lower drive disk for a cleaning pad, which are glued together by circular disk-shaped insulating material. The insulating material is made up of alternating successive, smooth-surface panes made of plexiglass (trademark) and metal foil, which are glued together.

These known devices have the advantage that more gentle treatment and faster drying of the carpets is achieved by using thermoelectric effects with fewer cleaning chemicals than with only mechanically effective machines.

The invention has for its object to optimize the device according to US-A-4 095 303 in order to achieve an improved cleaning effect by enhancing the thermoelectric effect.

This object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

The air cushions formed between the individual disks of the rotor ensure that the heat generated by the friction of the cleaning pad on the textile and transferred to the rotor is increasingly stored in it, so that the temperature gradient existing between the rotor and textile, which is analogous to the known one so-called Seebeck effect in connection with the existing electrostatic forces Removing the dirt particles from the textile previously treated with a suitable cleaning chemical and transporting them to and holding them in the cleaning cushion is increased. It is also advantageous that, when the cleaning pad saturated with dirt particles is exchanged for a fresh cleaning pad, it is heated by the heat stored in the rotor when it is applied to the rotor. The temperature gradient between the rotor or cleaning pad on the one hand and the textile on the other hand and therefore the advantageous thermoelectric effect is therefore essentially unchanged throughout the treatment period.

Advantageous further developments of the invention. are defined in the subclaims.

Es zeigenThe invention is shown schematically in the drawing in an exemplary embodiment and is explained below with reference to this. Show it

1 shows a section along the line AA of Figure 2 and
Figure 2 is a plan view of the underside of a rotor according to the invention.

According to the drawing, the bottom disk 3 of the rotor 1, which is adjacent to the cleaning pad 2, has a full circular cross section. On the disc 3, the annular discs 4 are arranged, of which the uppermost is provided with the projections 5. These projections 5, preferably three arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference, serve for releasable connection, for example in the manner of a bayonet catch, to the drive not shown. Except for the protrusions 5 of the top disk, all disks 4 have the same inside and outside diameter. The panes 4 are bonded to one another and the bottom pane 4 is tightly bonded to the pane 3 along its outer and inner edge over a width of, for example, approximately 1 cm, for example by means of an organic solvent adhesive. The adjacent surfaces of all panes should, however, be provided in a manner not shown with a more or less large roughening, so that there is a completely sealed air cushion between two adjacent panes.

The three bristles 6 arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference are provided on the underside of the disk 3. The relatively hard bristles are expediently anchored in a suitable carrier material and, by means of this, attached, for example glued, in corresponding recesses in the disk 3. The protruding length of the bristles is chosen so that a safe carrying of the cleaning pad 2 is always guaranteed, regardless of whether this is a cleaning pad that can be used on one or both sides.

This reliably prevents matting of the pillow, such as occurs in the pivot point and the surrounding area surrounding it, and damage to the textile, which could result in both wool materials and synthetic materials being treated with the device according to the invention it may prove useful prove to use a cleaning pad with a central recess. In this case, the disk 3 can also have a central opening of a corresponding or somewhat smaller diameter.

Deviating from the dimensions shown in the drawing, the cleaning pad 2, the disc 3 and the discs 4 can also have the same diameter. Likewise, instead of the projections 5, a different locking between the rotor 1 and the drive can of course also be provided. Likewise, the arrangement, shape and dimensions of the bristles 6 are only to be understood as examples and can of course also deviate therefrom.

The disks 3 and 4, which expediently have a thickness of about 2 to 6, preferably 3 to 5 mm, need not of course all have the same thickness, but disks of different thicknesses can also be paired with one another.

It is understood that the thermoelectric and electrostatic effect which arises in the treatment of carpet, carpets or upholstered furniture materials is influenced by a number of factors. Accordingly, the structure of the rotor 1 with respect to the material and the number and thickness of the discs used, the size of the air cushion, to achieve a roughening of a few 1/10 mm depth is sufficient, the size of the inner and outer diameter and in connection with this the respective speed of rotation of the rotor 1 or of the cleaning pad arranged thereon in coordination with the one to be treated Product and the type and amount of cleaning chemicals used.

Because of the fact that the sprayed onto a textile in an amount of, for example, about 5 to about 100 ml / m 2, which contains, for example, organic surfactants, alcohols, detergent substances and aqueous solutions, and a pH value of preferably about 6.2 to 7.5 cleaning chemical exposed to rapid evaporation due to the frictional heat, it is possible from case to case to achieve full drying of the textile in a time from approximately 20 minutes to approximately 2 hours, without leaving soap substances on the fibers of the textile, which rapid re-soiling of the fibers would result. On the contrary, it has been shown that a result is achieved in which the treated fibers do not become soiled again faster than soiling is the case with new goods.
