Abstract

In order to improve the cleaning effect when cleaning carpets and upholstery fabrics with the aid of suitable cleaning chemicals by means of electrostatic forces, a device is used which has a rotor, made of insulating material and driven by a drive device, and cleaning cushions made of pile fabric or the like and mounted on said rotor. The rotor is formed from two or more flat discs which are connected to one another tightly along their edges, the mutually adjacent flat sides of the discs being provided with a roughened portion in order to form air cushions between them. <IMAGE>
