Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for injecting fuel according to the preamble of the main claim.
- the incandescent body is designed as a cylindrical component and the cross section of the annular space surrounding the incandescent body is also the same over the entire length of the incandescent body. In some cases, this can lead to the spray jets being heated sufficiently only in the downstream end region of the incandescent body and the air required for their preparation being sucked into the spray jets in sufficient quantity, so that the preparation is still in need of improvement.
- the arrangement according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that the cross section of the annulus surrounding the incandescent body increases towards the injection nozzle and thereby the Flow conditions for the intake air can be improved overall. If, in addition, the incandescent body has a constant wall thickness over its entire length, its inner passage also adapts better to the shape of the spray jet, which also increases the injector effect of the spray jets passing through the incandescent body.
- the proposal according to the invention has a particularly advantageous effect if the incandescent body is designed as an incandescent filament in a manner known per se.
- the steady cross-sectional widening of the annular space surrounding the incandescent body in the opposite direction to the flow of the fuel leads to the fact that the air drawn in can enter the passage for the spray jets almost uniformly over the entire length of the incandescent body through the interstices between the turns.
- the conical design of the incandescent body improves the dynamic behavior of the wire coil, thereby reducing the risk of breakage.
- the conical design of the incandescent body also has an advantageous effect in that the components surrounding the upstream region of the incandescent body for holding and contacting the incandescent body and, if appropriate, for dissipating part of the heat radiated from the incandescent body onto the nozzle body of the injection nozzle, and the connection points of these components are less thermally stressed with each other than with a cylindrical design of the incandescent body.
- incandescent body is surrounded with radial play by a sleeve which is provided on the combustion chamber side with an inner collar which holds one end of the incandescent body and has openings, and to which a contact disk is fastened on the nozzle side. which holds the other end of the filament centered and is provided with means for connecting a power supply.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 each show one of the exemplary embodiments on the basis of an enlarged section through the front end of an injection nozzle on the combustion chamber side and an annealing insert integrated in its union nut.
- the injection nozzle according to FIG. 1 has a nozzle body 10, in which, as is known, a valve seat is formed and a valve needle is displaceably mounted.
- the nozzle body 10 and an intermediate disk delimiting the stroke of the valve needle are clamped by a union nut 12 to a nozzle holder in which, among other things, a closing spring which presses the valve needle against the valve seat is accommodated.
- the nozzle body 10 is ver with a conical wall section 14 see which merges into a flat end wall 16.
- the union nut 12 is extended on the combustion chamber side beyond the nozzle holder 10 and is provided downstream of its end wall 16 with an inner support shoulder 18 against which an annealing insert, designated as a whole by the reference number 20, bears.
- this has a glow element 22 designed as a wire coil, which forms a passage 24 for the spray jets 26.
- the incandescent body 22 is dimensioned such that the spray jets do not wet the incandescent body, but do produce an injector effect, through which air is sucked in from the combustion chamber into the interior of the incandescent body 22 or into the peripheral zones of the spray jets passing through the incandescent body 22.
- the incandescent body 22 is surrounded by a metallic sleeve 30 which has a flange 32 which rests on the support shoulder 18 of the union nut 12.
- the sleeve 30 is provided with an inwardly directed annular collar 34 on which the incandescent body 22 is supported in a centered manner and e.g. is soldered on.
- the union nut 12 Downstream of the support shoulder 18, the union nut 12 has a bore section 36 which fits around the sleeve 30 in a suitable manner.
- An annular collar 38 adjoins the bore section 36 and surrounds the end of the sleeve 30 and the incandescent body 22 on the combustion chamber side in a protective manner.
- a first annular insulating body 44, a metallic contact disk 46, a second annular insulating body 48 and a metallic retaining ring 50 are superimposed on the sleeve 30.
- the insulating body 44 is centered by an annular collar 52 of the sleeve 32.
- the retaining ring 50 engages with an annular leg 54 to fit over the insulating bodies 44 and 48, so that the second insulating body 48 is also centered with respect to the sleeve 30.
- the outer ring edge of the contact disk 46 is axially offset from the central disk area and dimensioned so wide that the contact disk 46 is also centered relative to the sleeve 30.
- the upstream end of the incandescent body 22 is soldered to the contact disk 46, which has an inner flanged edge 56 for centering the incandescent body 22.
- the contact disk 46 On the outer ring edge, the contact disk 46 is provided with a contact lug 58 which passes through a circumferential recess in the leg 54 of the retaining ring 50, projects into a transverse bore 59 of the union nut 12 and is used to fasten a connecting cable.
- the insulating bodies 44 and 48 are preferably made of a ceramic material and the contact tab 58 is preferably provided with an insulating sheath.
- a metal heat protection ring 60 is clamped deformed between the holding ring 50 and the nozzle body 10 and presses with an inner ring edge 62 against the end wall 16 of the nozzle body 10.
- a central ring region 64 which is offset axially to the inner ring edge 62, is supported on the retaining ring 50 and the outer ring edge 66 of the heat protection ring 60 is drawn conically upwards and lies against the conical wall section 14 of the nozzle body 10.
- the heat protection ring 60 is centered on the nozzle body 10 and the passage 24 is properly sealed against the chamber 68 surrounding the heat protection ring 60.
- the parts 44 to 50 can be soldered or glued to one another and to the sleeve 30 so that they can be handled as an independent structural unit before the injection nozzle is assembled.
- This assembly is inserted into the union nut 12 from the upstream side and advanced until it rests on the support shoulder 18.
- the sleeve 30 can then be glued or soldered or welded to the union nut 12 at a suitable point.
- the assembly of the injection nozzle is then advantageously carried out so that the nozzle holder, the washer and the nozzle body 10 are placed one on top of the other, the heat protection ring 60 is placed on the nozzle body 10 and then the union nut 12 together with the glow insert 20 is put on the parts and screwed onto the nozzle holder, the tensing heat protection ring is kept centered on the nozzle holder 10.
- the parts 44 to 50 can first be held in the sleeve 30 only by frictional engagement without being connected to one another.
- the parts are then pressed by the tensing heat protection ring 60 against the flange 32 of the sleeve 30 and this against the support shoulder 18 of the union nut 12, so that, if necessary, also on an additional operation for firmly "connecting the sleeve 30 with the union nut 12 can be dispensed with.
- the annular collar 34 of the sleeve 30, which is used to support the incandescent body 22, is directed slightly obliquely downward and is provided with bores 70 for flowing the sucked-in air into an annular space 72 surrounding the incandescent body 22.
- the axes of the bores 70 are aligned approximately parallel to the adjacent surface line of the incandescent body 22.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for injecting fuel according to the preamble of the main claim. In a known device of this type, the incandescent body is designed as a cylindrical component and the cross section of the annular space surrounding the incandescent body is also the same over the entire length of the incandescent body. In some cases, this can lead to the spray jets being heated sufficiently only in the downstream end region of the incandescent body and the air required for their preparation being sucked into the spray jets in sufficient quantity, so that the preparation is still in need of improvement.
The arrangement according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that the cross section of the annulus surrounding the incandescent body increases towards the injection nozzle and thereby the Flow conditions for the intake air can be improved overall. If, in addition, the incandescent body has a constant wall thickness over its entire length, its inner passage also adapts better to the shape of the spray jet, which also increases the injector effect of the spray jets passing through the incandescent body.
Advantageous developments of the arrangement specified in the main claim are possible through the measures listed in the subclaims.
The proposal according to the invention has a particularly advantageous effect if the incandescent body is designed as an incandescent filament in a manner known per se. With such a configuration of the incandescent body, the steady cross-sectional widening of the annular space surrounding the incandescent body in the opposite direction to the flow of the fuel leads to the fact that the air drawn in can enter the passage for the spray jets almost uniformly over the entire length of the incandescent body through the interstices between the turns. Furthermore, the conical design of the incandescent body improves the dynamic behavior of the wire coil, thereby reducing the risk of breakage.
The conical design of the incandescent body also has an advantageous effect in that the components surrounding the upstream region of the incandescent body for holding and contacting the incandescent body and, if appropriate, for dissipating part of the heat radiated from the incandescent body onto the nozzle body of the injection nozzle, and the connection points of these components are less thermally stressed with each other than with a cylindrical design of the incandescent body.
A particularly compact and technically advantageous design results if the incandescent body is surrounded with radial play by a sleeve which is provided on the combustion chamber side with an inner collar which holds one end of the incandescent body and has openings, and to which a contact disk is fastened on the nozzle side. which holds the other end of the filament centered and is provided with means for connecting a power supply.
Two embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing and explained in more detail in the following description. FIGS. 1 and 2 each show one of the exemplary embodiments on the basis of an enlarged section through the front end of an injection nozzle on the combustion chamber side and an annealing insert integrated in its union nut.
The injection nozzle according to FIG. 1 has a
The
The
A first annular
The retaining ring 50 engages with an
The upstream end of the
A metal
The
In another embodiment, the
The annular collar 34 of the
The design of the
The injection nozzle according to FIG. 2 has a
The
By dispensing with an annular collar on the
