Es handelt sich bei der bekannten Anordnung allerdings nicht um eine Löschkammer mit Lichtbogenlöschblechen, sondem um eine solche mit Siebkeramik zur Löschung des Lichtbogens, und die beiden Platten dienen auch nur dazu, den Lichtbogen im wesentlichen in Richtung der Bewegungsöffnung des beweglichen Kontaktstückes zu verlängern. Dies hat zur Folge, daß die Höhe der Lichtbogenlöschkammer bei der bekannten Anordnung von wesentlicher Bedeutung ist. Claims (7)

1. Electrical switching device, in particular automatic cut-out, having a housing with two lateral housing walls (10, 11), having a fixed and a movable contact element (13, 12) and having an arc quench chamber with arc quenching laminations (19), which is laterally delimited at least in the region of the contact point (12, 13) by two side wall elements (20, 23), characterized in that one side wall element (20) is formed by a wall projection formed on one housing wall (10) and extending up to the fixed and movable contact element (13, 12) and adjoining the latter directly, which wall projection closes off to the front against the arcing direction the region of the bundle of arc quenching laminations (18) between the contact point (12, 13) and that housing wall (10) having the wall projection, and in that the other side wall element (23) is formed by a wall panel (23) arranged at a distance to the other housing wall (11), thus leaving a channel (25) free between, which wall panel directly adjoins the fixed and movable contact element (13, 12) on one side and delimits to the front the region of the bundle of arc quenching laminations (18) between the contact point and the other housing wall (11) with the exception of the region of the channel (25), likewise against the arcing direction.

Electrical switching device according to Claim 1, characterized in that there is formed on the housing wall (11) adjacent to the wall panel (23) a transverse wall (21) in front of the wall panel (seen in the arcing direction) and at a distance thereto, which transverse wall extends bar-like towards the fixed contact element (13) and thus delimits the channel (25) to the front.
3. Electrical switching device according to Claim 1, characterized in that there are provided in the face of one wall projection facing the contact point (13, 12) grooves (27) extending transversely with respect to the opening direction of the movable contact element (12).
4. Electrical switching device according to one of Claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the wall panel (23) made of insulating material contains an iron plate (24) on the side facing away from the contact point.
5. Electrical switching device according to Claim 4, characterized in that the wall panel (23) has a recess (28) in which the iron plate (24) is held non-positively, for example by means of a detent.
6. Electrical switching device according to Claim 4 or 5, characterized in that the iron plate (24) is injected into the wall panel (23).
7. Electrical switching device according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the bundle of arc quenching laminations (18) is inserted into and guided in a depression on the housing wall (11) adjacent to the wall panel (23), which depression is extended beyond the contact point against the arcing direction and in which the wall plate (23) is located and thus the channel (25) is formed.
