Definitions
- the invention relates to an electromagnetically actuated fuel injection valve for injection systems of internal combustion engines, with a valve housing, a nozzle body fastened thereon, a soft iron core arranged within the valve housing and carrying a fixed magnetic winding, and an armature which is coaxial with it and forms an air gap, which is connected to the End facing away from the injection side of a valve needle guided in a bore of the nozzle body.
- valve needle and the armature In fuel injection valves of this type, it is known to produce the valve needle and the armature as separate parts and then to connect them together to form a component.
- the anchor is a soft iron component, while for the valve needle it is a wear-resistant material is used.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a fuel injection valve according to the preamble, which can be produced in a simple and inexpensive manner with high dimensional accuracy.
- the armature and valve needle are a one-piece closure part, the area of the armature is soft annealed and the area of the valve needle is at least partially hardened.
- This construction eliminates all tolerance deviations that are present in the prior art on the areas of the armature and valve needle to be connected. The process of connecting these parts together is also saved.
- Soft annealing achieves the material properties of the armature required for solenoid valve operation, while hardening the valve needle maintains the wear resistance required there.
- the area of the armature can be soft-annealed after the closure part has completely hardened.
- Another likewise advantageous embodiment consists in that the area of the valve needle is at least partially surface-hardened after the closure part has been completely annealed.
- the surface hardening is simple, e.g. 6. possible by induction hardening or laser hardening.
- valve needle Since it is not necessary for the entire surface of the valve needle to be hardened, but only for the parts subject to wear by friction or impact, the valve needle can have radially projecting guide projections on its cylindrical outer surface, which slide against the wall of the bore of the nozzle body are, the contact surfaces of the guide lugs on the wall are surface hardened.
- the injection-side end of the valve needle is preferably designed as a surface-hardened valve closing member, it being advantageous if not only the surface of the valve closing member lying against the valve seat, but also a pin projecting through the outlet bore of the fuel injection valve is hardened.
- valve needle has a stroke limitation stop, which can be stopped at a stop of the valve housing in the opening stroke of the fuel injection valve, the surface of the stroke limitation stop at the stop of the valve housing being surface-hardened, wear on the stroke limitation stop is largely avoided.
- the single figure of the drawing shows a fuel injection valve in cross section, which has a valve housing 1, in which a winding body 2 with the magnetic winding 3 is arranged.
- the other end face of the soft iron core 4 is opposed to form an air gap with an armature 7 which has a coaxially extending valve needle 8 on its side opposite the soft iron core 4.
- Armature 7 and valve needle 8 are designed as a one-piece closure part.
- valve needle 8 projects into a bore 9 of a nozzle body 10, which is connected coaxially to the valve housing 1.
- valve needle 8 The free end of the valve needle 8 is designed as a valve closing member 11, which can be placed with its conical closing surface 19 on a corresponding surface of the valve seat 12 formed at the mouth of the bore 9 and thus the valve passage can be blocked.
- valve needle 8 In the mouth of the bore 9, which forms the valve outlet, a pin 13 protrudes at the free end of the valve needle 8.
- the valve needle 8 is axially displaceable in the bore 9 by a limited amount.
- the displaceability in the closing direction is limited by the contact of the valve closing member 11 on the valve seat 12, while the displaceability in the opening direction is limited by the contact of a stroke limiting stop 14 integrally formed on the valve needle 8 on a stop 15 firmly connected to the valve housing 1.
- the armature 7 and with it the valve needle 8 are acted upon in the closing direction by a prestressed compression spring 16 supported on the soft iron core 4.
- the valve needle 8 has a smaller diameter than the bore 9. To guide therefore r to d e cylindrical surface of the valve needle 8 are formed radially projecting guide lugs 17 which are on the wall of the bore 9 in plant.
- the one-piece component consisting of armature 7 and valve needle 8 is soft-annealed and then on the contact surfaces 18 of the guide lugs 17 on the wall of the bore 9, on the closing surface 19 of the valve closing member 11, on the pin 13 and on the stop surface 20 of the stroke limiting stop 14 at the stop 15 surface hardened.
- the entire closure part can also be hardened first and then the armature 7 can be soft annealed.

Abstract
