Definitions
- the invention relates to an inlet pot for roof drain rainwater to discharge the same in a drain pipe and an insert for such.
- Such sumps are usually used on flat roofs. They are usually designed with such a large inner diameter that they never fill up when it rains. The calculation is usually based on a degree of filling of 0.3, i.e. that only 3 10 of the pipe volume are filled with water and 7 10 with air.
- inlet pots have the disadvantage that a water vortex normally forms at the inlet funnel, in which case the water entering the inlet pot is forced outward to the outer edge of the inlet, while air flows into the drain pipe through the vortex is sucked in. This in turn is associated with undesirable noises that can propagate through the drain downpipe.
- the inlet pot is filled with water together with the drain pipe and no more air can enter the drain pipe reach.
- a filling level of 1.0 in which a filling level of 1.0 is spoken, not only are vortices avoided, and then no more air can be torn into the downpipe, but at the same time there is a lower pressure in the downpipe, i.e. a suction is formed, the size of which corresponds to the weight of the water column located in the drain pipe.
- the size of the negative pressure or suction that forms depends on the height of the fall.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to create an inlet pot for roof drain rainwater with which the formation of water eddies and swirling noises are avoided as possible from the outset by ensuring a steady outflow of rainwater.
- the claims 2 to 10 indicate advantageous design options of an inlet pot according to claim 1, while the claims 11 to 17 are directed to the insert part in question, with which under certain circumstances. Existing inlet pots can also be retrofitted accordingly.
- a frustoconical insert 2 In the inlet pot 1, the rainwater draining from the roof receives, a frustoconical insert 2 is used, which has an opening 3 with a molded coaxial pipe socket 4 on its tapered top.
- the opening 3-of the insert part 2 and the pipe socket 4 have a smaller inner diameter than the drain pipe 6, the opening 3 arranged at the top of the insert part 2 being arranged approximately at the height or somewhat below the upper edge of the inlet pot 1.
- the insert part 2 is provided with at least three, but at most with four support feet 5.
- This insert 2 has the effect that even a slight build-up of rainwater running off the roof and flowing into the inlet 1 creates a negative pressure therein, i.e. A suction is created, the size of which corresponds to the weight of the water column which forms, the inlet pot 1 and the drainage pipe 6 being completely filled with water, i.e. a fill level of 1.0 is reached. This means that no air can get into the water line flowing into the drain pipe, and vortex formation is avoided. Due to the negative pressure formed, a higher flow rate is achieved, so that more water can be drained off through the downpipe.
- the rainwater flowing off the roof enters the inlet pot 1 and flows at the bottom of the same between the support feet 5 of the insert part 2 in a drain pipe 6. Due to the small height of the gap 7 formed by the support feet 5 between the bottom of the inlet pot 1 and the lower edge of the insert part 2, however, the outflow quantity is limited, so that a build-up can build up in space E between the inner wall of the inlet pot 1 and the outer wall of the insert part 2, the amount of the accumulation changing depending on the amount of water flowing in.
- the diameter and the shape of the insert 2 depend on the size of the inlet pot 1.
- the height of the integrally formed support feet 5 of the insert part 2 depends on the cross section of the drain socket and the subsequent drain pipe.
- the free inlet cross-section is optimally designed, at the same time any impurities are entrained in the suction of the water effective through the gap 7. Due to such a high self-cleaning effect, the inlet pot is kept free of contaminants deposited in it.
- the pipe socket 4 While in the case of FIG. 1 the pipe socket 4 only adjoins the opening 3 on the inside, in the case of FIG. 2 it protrudes inwards and outwards. It could just as well connect to the outside of the opening 3. 2 shows a special feature, which is independent of the position of the pipe socket 4:
- the pipe socket is provided with a cover 9 in the form of a mushroom-shaped plug, which has lateral inlet openings 11 under its hat 10. Stops 12 ensure the proper seating of the plug 9 on the pipe stub 4.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an inlet pot for roof drain rainwater to discharge the same in a drain pipe and an insert for such.
Such sumps are usually used on flat roofs. They are usually designed with such a large inner diameter that they never fill up when it rains. The calculation is usually based on a degree of filling of 0.3, i.e. that only 3 10 of the pipe volume are filled with water and 7 10 with air.
Commercially available inlet pots have the disadvantage that a water vortex normally forms at the inlet funnel, in which case the water entering the inlet pot is forced outward to the outer edge of the inlet, while air flows into the drain pipe through the vortex is sucked in. This in turn is associated with undesirable noises that can propagate through the drain downpipe.
If, what happens very rarely, so much rainwater occurs at once that it builds up far above the height of the drain inlet opening of the drain pipe, then the inlet pot is filled with water together with the drain pipe and no more air can enter the drain pipe reach. In such a case, in which a filling level of 1.0 is spoken, not only are vortices avoided, and then no more air can be torn into the downpipe, but at the same time there is a lower pressure in the downpipe, i.e. a suction is formed, the size of which corresponds to the weight of the water column located in the drain pipe. - The size of the negative pressure or suction that forms depends on the height of the fall. - Due to this negative pressure, a higher flow rate is achieved in the drain down pipe, so that more water per unit of time can inevitably be drained from the inlet pot through the drain down pipe. However, such a mode of operation, as I said, requires a higher build-up, which among other things can lead to an unacceptable load on the ceiling.
The invention is therefore based on the object to create an inlet pot for roof drain rainwater with which the formation of water eddies and swirling noises are avoided as possible from the outset by ensuring a steady outflow of rainwater.
This object is achieved by the characterizing features of
When the water level drops in the direction of the end face of the insert, only a fine "air thread" first enters through the central hole, so that there is no drastic drop in the downpipe drainage capacity. However, pendulous movements of the water level occur essentially on the lateral surface of e.g. frustoconical insert.
Thereafter, there is the advantage that in the inlet pot itself there is very soon a small build-up of rainwater flowing from the roof and flowing into the inlet funnel of the inlet pot and consequently a negative pressure, i.e. a suction, combined with a better water drainage. This avoids a higher build-up outside the inlet pot, even with large amounts of water, as well as the otherwise usual water vortex noises even with less rain.
The
In der Zeichnung sind entsprechende Ausführungsbeispiele dargestellt. Dabei zeigt
- Fig. 1 cut the relevant inlet pot with subsequent drain pipe in a first embodiment and
- Fig. 2 such an inlet pot, also cut, in a slightly different embodiment.
In the
The
Die Wirkungsweise der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung ist dabei folgende:Under normal conditions and a fill level of 0.3, a DN 50 gully discharges around 5 m 3 of water per hour, regardless of the head. With a filling level of 1.0 and an assumed drop height of 3 m, the discharge amount is over 20 m 3 per hour. Conventionally, this high performance can only be achieved if there is a corresponding amount of precipitation and a high level of accumulation in the inlet. The
The rainwater flowing off the roof enters the
Already when the damming reaches a height of 3 cm above the upper edge of the
This build-up in the
The diameter and the shape of the
Since there are a maximum of four support feet, the free inlet cross-section is optimally designed, at the same time any impurities are entrained in the suction of the water effective through the
While in the case of FIG. 1 the
