Claims (11)

1. Farbbanddruckervorrichtung mit einer Vorratsspule (16), von der ausgehend ein Farbband (10) zu einer Aufwickelspule (30) läuft, wobei das Farbband eine schmelzbare Tintenschicht (49) aufweist, die durch den Betrieb eines Druckkopfes (18) erhitzbar ist, wenn die Tintenschicht und ein Aufnahmemedium (12) in Berührung stehen, um Tinte von dem Farbband auf das Aufnahmemedium zu übertragen, und wobei die Vorrichtung Einfärbeinrichtungen (42) aufweist, die zwischen der Vorratsspule und dem erwähnten Druckkopf angeordnet sind, um wenigstens eine Farbe zu der schmelzbaren Tintenschicht auf dem Farbband zu übertragen.
2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, bei der die Einfärbeinrichtung eine Farblösung enthält und eine Übertragungseinrichtung (66, 98) zum Aufbringen der Farblösung auf das Farbband aufweist.
3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 2, bei der die Übertragungseinrichtung aus einem absorbierenden Material besteht, das die Farblösung aus einem die Farblösung enthaltenden Vorratsbehälter absorbiert hat.
4. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 3, bei der die Einfärbeinrichtung einen Träger für eine Vielzahl von Farblösungsvorratsbehältern aufweist, denen jeweils eine Übertragungseinrichtung zugeordnet ist, wobei eine Einrichtung vorgesehen ist, um den Träger so zu bewegen, daß eine ausgewählte Übertragungseinrichtung in eine Position in die Nähe des Farbbandes gebracht wird.

Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 4, bei der jeder der Behälter einen Deckel (94) zum Verhindern einer Verdunstung der Farblösung sowie Einrichtungen (100, 108) zum Wegnehmen des Deckels aufweist, wenn das Farbband und eine ausgewählte Übertragungseinrichtung miteinander in Berührung gebracht werden sollen.
6. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, bei der der Träger ein karussellartiges Gerät ist, das um eine es durchquerende Achse drehbar ist, um eine ausgewählte Übertragunseinrichtung in eine Position zu verfahren, wo sie von dem Farbband berührt werden kann.
7. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 2, bei der die Übertragungseinrichtung eine Walze (98) ist, auf der absorbierendes Material aufgebracht ist und die drehbar frei gelagert sowie durch das Farbband angetrieben ist, wenn sie mit dem Farbband in Berührung steht.
8. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 2 bis 7, bei der die Einfärbeinrichtung Andruckeinrichtungen (68, 70) zum Andrücken des Farbbandes gegen die Übertragungseinrichtung aufweist, um die Farblösung zu der Tintenschicht auf dem Farbband zu übertragen.
9. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, bei der das Farbband ein Widerstandsband und die Vorrichtung ein Widerstandsband-Thermotransferdrucker ist.
10. Farbbanddruckverfahren, bei dem eine schmelzbare Tinte enthaltendes Farbband von einer Vorratsspule auf eine Aufwickelspule gewikkelt wird und bei dem das Farbband von einem Aufnahmemedium berührt wird, während Hitze einwirkt, um die Tinte zwecks Übertragung der Tinte auf das Aufnahmemedium zu schmelzen, wobei wenigstens eine Farbe zu der Tinte auf dem Farbband innerhalb der Zeit übertragen wird, die zwischen dem Zeitpunkt, zu dem das Farbband die Vorratsspule verläßt, und dem Zeitpunkt liegt, zu dem die Tintenschicht und das Aufnahmemedium zum Drucken auf dem Aufnahmemedium in Berührung stehen.
11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 10, bei dem eine Vielzahl von Farben auf das Farbband übertragen werden, nachdem es die Vorratsspule verläßt.
