Ink of different colors can be fed into reservoirs located between the ink supply rollers 16-18, and then transferred to the ridges along the periphery of the cylindrical ink carrier body. Said ridges print then on the recording medium.

Accordingly, container lids 94 are raised and lowered by the attached shafts 100, which are connected to rollers 106 that follow a cam track 108 defined by the upper and lower cam surfaces 110 and 112, respectively. Movement of carousel 88 is by the stepping motor 114, which is attached to carousel 88 by shaft 102.
