Definitions
- Mobile containers, trolleys or meal carts are used to cool food and ready meals, in particular to supply passengers in air traffic.
- the content is cooled by means of dry ice -C0 2 in a solid state - and / or cooling air, the use of dry ice in the trolley being the advantage of its independent mobility without the use of permanently installed refrigerators, primarily during the transport time of the device from the service station to Plane and during other unwanted but unavoidable waiting times.
- These containers are generally designed so that the dry ice, which sublimates in a C0 2 -containing atmosphere at a temperature lower than -78 ° C (195 K) -so from the solid to the gaseous state directly - in the form of plates or pins (Pellets) is arranged in the uppermost compartment of the device in a slot.
- the dry ice extracts the necessary sublimation heat primarily from its surroundings outside the usable space.
- the cold C0 2 gas with about twice the density of air flows along the outer walls into the interior. This cools the load. With this arrangement, sufficient thermal insulation between the dry ice compartment and the usable space is necessary to limit the effect of the heat sink on the uppermost levels. At the lowest levels, the cooling system proves to be inadequate, since the cooling gas has already warmed up on its long path along the walls.
- the heat absorption Q GAS of a material flow m is always associated with its temperature increase (T 2 - T 1 ).
- the cooling gas mass flow m is not sufficient to cover the transport heat Q T through the walls:
- the cooling gas mass flow cannot be increased arbitrarily.
- the sublimation heat is obtained from rooms and through areas that are not involved in the actual cooling task, e.g. B. the upper cover plate of the container, so that undesirable temperature gradients and unacceptably far apart temperatures build up inside the refrigerated container.
- a uniform temperature field in the usable space is achieved according to the invention in that a coolant (refrigerant) circulates in a closed circuit and in that it sublimates through indirect heat exchange with the dry ice, the dry ice deliberately withdrawing its sublimation heat from the refrigerated goods in the usable space.
- a coolant (refrigerant) circulates in a closed circuit and in that it sublimates through indirect heat exchange with the dry ice, the dry ice deliberately withdrawing its sublimation heat from the refrigerated goods in the usable space.
- Fig. 1 shows a refrigerated container of the conventional design with an open door.
- the mobile container (1) generally provided with a door (2) on the narrow sides, is through the heat-insulating partition (3) into the utility compartment (4) for the Load and the compartment (5) divided to accommodate an insert (6) that extends over the entire length of the container, or two of each for half the length.
- These inserts take up the dry ice and usually have a perforated base through which the sublimed CO 2 gas flows down and through slots (7) in the partition (3), as shown in Fig. 2a, along the doors (2nd ) enters the usable space (4).
- This cold gas mainly absorbs heat from its upper area and forms a C0 2 -air mixture in the entire usable space, which as a bacteriostatic atmosphere offers protection to open, unsealed dishes.
- the usable space (4) of the container shown is divided into several levels, on which trays (8) for food or larger drawers for other goods are arranged.
- a cut is made in the plane X, Y through the container according to FIG. 1.
- the sectional half A shows Fig. 2 a. From the cut half B in FIG. 2b, only the pipe system of the device is shown in a simplified manner, wherein the pipe system, pushed along the line of symmetry S-S upward to FIG. 2a to the extent of the lines Z-Z, changes the overall arrangement of the cooling system gives the usable space.
- the inner, preferably metallic layer (9) of the container side wall (10) with the beads (11) as a tablet support is largely removed in FIG.
- the structure of the cooling systems is the same in pairs and z. B. A 1 and B 1 and A 2 and B 2 of the same design and arranged in the side walls (10) around the axis of symmetry S - S.
- FIG. 3 shows the cooling system as a dimetric image: shows and shows the basic structure, here that of system B1.
- FIG. 5 The arrangement of the pipelines in the side wall (10) is shown in FIG. 5 as a section according to CD from FIG. 2a.
- FIG. 3 represents the device for carrying out the thermosiphon principle and consists of a ladder-shaped arrangement lying in the side wall with parallel tubes (12) arranged obliquely at an angle ⁇ , the horizontal tube coil (13) and one not closer Filling valve described and is filled with refrigerant including the coil.
- the dry ice (14) lies over the coils. Due to the cooling of the refrigerant, it flows down through the downpipe (15) and is distributed in the riser (16) into the parallel, oblique tubes (12) and drives the heated refrigerant, which can also contain steam bubbles, in front of it the manifold (17) and back into the coil (13).
- the pipes (12, 15, 16, 17) lying in the vertical plane are, as shown in FIG. 5, embedded in the heat-insulating layer (18) of the side wall (10) and have contact with the metallic inner wall (9) with the tray supports ( 11), so that this serves as a heat transfer surface.
- cooling systems come from e.g. B. copper pipes 6 x 1 mm according to DIN 1786 into consideration.
- the device can be made from materials that are compatible with refrigerants.
- the cooling systems arranged symmetrically in FIGS. 2 a and 2 b require that the function of the systems is only slightly impaired when the device is tilted like this when climbing.
- the slope of the tubes (12) of the systems A 1 and B 1 is increased, thus the function is retained; on the other hand, the function of systems A 2 and B 2 can be weakened by reducing the pipe inclination.
- the tubes (12) can be placed horizontally on the inner wall (9) and at the same time serve as a tray support.
- Fig. 4 the second approach is shown, which comprises an evaporator with natural circulation in the vertical side wall (10) and a condenser arranged on the partition (3).
- FIG. 4 shows a container, the front door (2) of which is open, the side wall of half B has been broken open, the cover plate of the container (1) and the dry ice insert (6) have been removed in order to hold the device in the half labeled A in FIG 1 to show.
- the evaporator tubes (19) are vertical, are connected to the bottom of the container by a distributor tube (20) and end in an inclined steam collecting tube (21) which connects them to the cooling coil (22).
- the pipe system is filled with refrigerant up to about 80% of the evaporator height.
- the special guidance of the downpipe (23) in a loop (24) in the bottom of the container makes it all-round Enclosure of the usable space created with the cooling device.
- the bottom of the container can be designed as a heat transfer surface like a plate heat exchanger and, in a comparable manner, the systems of FIGS. 2 a and 2 b and FIG. 4 can also be designed in the vertical walls.
- the evaporator-condenser system can also be divided into two independent systems in each wall, as is the case with the first solution for the Thermosy. phon system is shown in Fig. 2 a and 2 b.
- the arrangement is again symmetrical so that in a wall, for. B. container half A, the steam collecting tubes (21) falling from the center of the wall towards the door sides and vice versa on the opposite side, that is to say they are arranged to rise towards the door sides.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 2 Vorrichtung für das Thermosyphon-System:
- Fig. 4 Vorrichtung zur Anwendung des Naturumlaufverdampfer-Prinzips,
- Fig. 5 Schnitt C - D in Fig. 2 a durch die Seitenwand des Containers.
Die Schnitthälfte A zeigt die Fig. 2 a.
