Das Rühren ist ein Vorgang, bei dem Flüssigkeiten miteinander vermischt bzw. bei dem gasförmige, flüssige oder feste Körper in Flüssigkeiten verteilt (oder ebenfalls gelöst) werden. Das Rühren spielt in der chemischen -, pharmazeutischen -, der Lebensmittelindustrie, der Grundstoff- und Wasseraufbereitung sowie in der Umweltschutz- und Farmtechnik eine wichtige Rolle. Ziel kann die Herstellung eines homogenen Systems, die Beschleunigung der Stoff- oder Wärmeübertragung oder chemische resp. biochemische Reaktion sein. Die Rührprozesse können entweder in Rohrleitungen oder in Behältern, Tanks oder Becken durchgeführt werden. In Behältern jeglicher Art erfolgt die notwendige Energiezufuhr meist durch in der Flüssigkeit rotierende Rührer. Mit diesen Anordnungen sind je nach den Aggregatzuständen der beteiligten Komponenten die verschiedensten Prozesse möglich. Flüssige und feste Komponenten rührt man, um aufzulösen, zu extrahieren, flottieren, kristalisieren, löslichkeitsverdrängen und suspendieren. Es sind eine ganze Anzahl von Rührwerken gemäss dem Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs 1 bekannt, die als Ankerrührer, Fingerrührer, Bandrührer und Schneckenrührer in den Lehrbüchern der Chemie, des Maschinen- und Apparatebaus oder der Normen bekannt sind (Ankerrührer, DIN Nr. 28143, DIN Nr. 28142/43). Alle diese Rührwerke werden in senkrecht stehenden Behältern so angeordnet, dass ihre Welle in der Behälterachse angeordnet wird. Somit lässt sich die Erkenntnis ausnützen, dass es zum Anspringen des Fäulnisprozesses die Bindung des gelösten Sauerstoffes braucht. Dieser Vorgang lässt während vielen Stunden Ablagerungen zu, sofern nach dieser Ruhezeit die Sedimente erneut hochgewirbelt und in die Flüssigkeit verteilt werden. Die gefalteten Paddel begünstigen die Startbedingungen, indem die Paddel selbst in gefaltetem Zustand eine kleinere Schwungmasse darstellen und, dass das Festsitzen eines Paddels in den Sedimenten durch den gefalteten Zustand verhindert wird. Schliesslich ist ein weiterer Vorteil die ausserordentliche Einfachheit und Robustheit des Rührwerkes, die die Investitionen mässigt und somit einen echten Beitrag für den Umweltschutz im Landwirtschaftssektor darstellt. In den Fig. 1 und 2 ist ein Rührwerk zum Suspendieren von intermittierend anfallenden Feststoffen und Flüssigkeiten, die sich unter der Einwirkung der Schwerkraft entmischen würden, dargestellt, welches in seinem grundsätzlichen Aufbau aus einem Lagerbock 1 mit integriertem Lager, aus einem Rührwerkschaft 2, der vorzugsweise aus einem rechteckigen Hohlstahl besteht, aus einem Antriebsaggregat 3, das aus einem Antriebsmotor und Untersetzungsgetrieben besteht, sowie aus Naben 4, in denen die Speichen 5 befestigt sind, und an deren Enden die Paddel sitzen. In Fig. 4 ist das faltbare Rührwerk im Ruhezustand und daher gefaltet. Die Druckfeder 34 ist in annähernd entspanntem Zustand. Der Inhalt des vollgefüllten Beckens hat sich entmischt, indem sich vom Flüssigkeitsspiegel gegen den Beckenboden Schichten verschiedener Dichte einstellen.
