Date Dec. 5, 1985.A bottle for containing a multi-phase liquid product has a bottle member with a main bottle wall and a lower bottle wall forming a neck with an opening, and a closure member having a central closure wall which engages and supports the neck and an outer closure wall which is in an end-to-end abutting relationship with the main wall of the bottle member and supports the main wall.

Description

For cosmetic purposes, it is known to use bottles with a filling of two liquids of different densities, for example hair fixers or products similar to setting agents, with what is known as a top additive. This liquid on top consists of isoparaffins and is volatile even at room temperature; especially at higher temperatures, so that liquid-tight packaging is very difficult. In addition, the isoparaffins have an extremely good creeping ability. They have a low specific weight and therefore always swim as an additive.

If these liquid products are filled into the usual bottles, there is considerable loss of top additive due to diffusion and creeping in the area of the closure. For economic reasons, the caps of the bottles are provided with integral sealing elements, whereby capillaries and micro-gaps cannot be avoided between the bottle neck and the sealing element, which leads to leaks. The closures, which are usually made from polyolefins as a result of the necessary economy and functionality, have only a low diffusion density compared to isoparaffins.

The object of the invention is therefore to design a bottle for liquid products, which is provided with a detachable bottle cap and is filled with two liquids of different densities, the liquid above being volatile or creeping, so that liquid losses due to diffusion and creep are avoided will. This is achieved according to the invention in an advantageous manner in that the detachable bottle closure is designed as a standing surface and the bottle has a shape such that it cannot be placed with the opening facing upwards.

In the bottle designed according to the invention, the volatile and specific lighter liquid (top additive) is encapsulated in the part of the bottle opposite the opening, so that the volatile liquid is not in the opening / closure area and losses during storage are avoided. This prevents both an optically visible lowering of the filling level and an objective loss of effectiveness of the overall product. The bottle and the closure can be manufactured inexpensively and an expensive closure seal, which would also result in cumbersome handling, is eliminated.

An advantageous development of the invention is seen in the fact that the screw or clamp closure engages over the bottle neck. In order to be able to store the bottle horizontally, it is advisable to provide it with at least one lateral support surface.

Further features of the invention can be found in the subclaims and the drawing and the associated drawing description.

  • Fig. 2 die Flasche nach Fig. 1 in Liegestellung.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing, which shows:
  • Fig. 1 is a bottle in longitudinal section, which is placed on its closure and
  • Fig. 2 shows the bottle of FIG. 1 in the lying position.

The bottle 1 has a bottle neck 2 and an outwardly curved base 3, which prevents the bottle 1 from being opened with the opening 4 facing upwards. A cap 5 is screwed or clamped onto the bottle neck 2, which laterally engages over the bottle neck 2 and has an outer ring 6. The outer ring 6 has approximately the same diameter as the bottle 1, so that there is a standing surface 7 which corresponds to the bottle diameter or is even larger. In order to be able to store the bottle horizontally, it can be provided with one or more lateral support surfaces.

As can be seen from the two figures, both in the standing position according to FIG. 1 and in the lying position according to FIG. 2, the volatile top additive 11 made of isoparaffins floating on top of the liquid 10 is not in the immediate area of the bottle cap, so that storage losses at the top additive due to diffusion and creep cannot occur.
