Definitions

  • the invention relates to a multi-piece pack of cardboard or the like for at least four containers arranged in two rows, e.g. Cup, with a bottom wall, two side walls articulated on this and with a top wall, a wall area running from the center of the bottom wall between the two rows of containers and being connected to the top wall.
  • Such a multi-piece pack is known from US-A-4 377 235, in which an intermediate wall rises between the rows of containers and maintains the distance between the cans set there. Such a solution is only useful and satisfactory for cylindrical containers.
  • the invention has for its object to design a multi-piece pack of the type mentioned so that on the one hand containers with a shape deviating from the cylindrical shape are firmly held in the packaging and the entire multi-piece pack forms a stable sales unit, and that on the other hand a simple and therefore economical assembly of the Multi-pack is guaranteed.
  • the bottom wall consists of two bottom wall areas, between which at least two further, upwardly extending wall areas are arranged, these further wall areas being folded between the rows of containers and connected to the top wall.
  • Such packaging ensures, even in the case of strongly conical containers, that the containers held therein cannot slip or even fall out; the entire multi-piece pack is firm and stable and can also be manufactured and erected very easily.
  • An advantageous further embodiment of the invention is also that three interconnected wall areas are arranged between the two bottom wall areas, which are folded upwards in a U-shaped manner between the two rows of containers and are connected to the top wall by gluing, sealing or the like, and that connection tabs are formed on at least one of the two bottom wall areas, which are connected to the other bottom wall area.
  • Such a multi-piece pack is particularly easy to manufacture and offers the containers held therein optimum protection. Due to the three, reversely U-shaped folded between the two rows of containers, of which the base of the inverted U is glued to the top wall, the multi-pack can be particularly resilient against pressure, so that it e.g. can be stacked on pallets in many layers one above the other without damaging the packaged containers.
  • Another advantageous embodiment of the invention is that two wall areas are arranged on the two bottom wall areas, which are folded upwards in a V-shape upwards between the two rows of containers and by means of hinged locking tabs which pass through a recess provided in the top wall, with the Top wall are connected.
  • a particularly simple manufacture of the multi-piece pack is possible by connecting the wall regions folded upward in an inverted V-shape upwards between the rows of containers and the top wall with the aid of a locking tab that passes through an opening in the top wall.
  • an advantageous further development of the invention is that the further wall areas provided between the two bottom wall areas are connected to one another via a fold line, that a locking tab is punched out from the surface of one of these wall areas and folded up from a fold line between the two wall areas, and that the top wall has two overlapping and interconnected top wall areas, the recess through which the locking tab passes being provided in one of these top wall areas.
  • connection of the wall areas folded upwards in an inverted V-shape between the rows of containers and the top wall with the aid of a locking tab which passes through an opening in the top wall makes it possible to produce and set up the multi-piece pack in a particularly simple manner.
  • openings are provided in the two bottom wall areas through which the containers can partially pass.
  • a side wall 10 is connected to the bottom wall area 1 and is connected to a top wall 11.
  • FIG. 2 shows a cross section through a multi-piece pack, which is produced from the blank according to FIG. 1.
  • Two cups B stand with their bottom surfaces on the two bottom wall areas 1 and 2.
  • the side walls 10 and 12 and the top wall 11 are folded around the two cups B; the top wall 11 is glued to the adhesive flap 13 formed on the side wall 12.
  • the three other wall areas 3, 4 and 5 of the blank are folded upwards in a U-shape between the two cups B, the wall area 4 being glued to the top wall 11.
  • the two connecting tabs 6 and 7 are connected to each other by gluing, the connecting tab 6 is additionally glued to the bottom wall area 1.
  • FIG. 3 shows a cardboard blank with a top wall 111 which is connected to a side wall 110 to which a bottom wall region 101 is articulated.
  • a further wall area 103 adjoins the bottom wall area 101, which has a locking tab 114.
  • a side wall 112, a bottom wall area 102 and a further wall area 105 with a locking tab 115 formed thereon adjoin the edge of the top wall 111 opposite the side wall 110.
  • the two locking tabs 114 and 115 have molded lugs 116, 117 and 118, 119, respectively.
  • Connection tabs 106 and 107 are punched out of the surface of the wall areas 103 and 105, respectively, which are each connected to the bottom wall areas 101 and 102 to interrupt a folding line 108 and 109, respectively.
  • FIG. 4 shows a blank which has two bottom wall regions 201 and 202, which are provided with openings 221 and 222, respectively.
  • Two further wall areas 203 and 205 are arranged between these two bottom wall areas 201 and 202; a locking tab 223 is punched out of a surface area 205 from a fold line 224.
  • a side wall 212 adjoins the bottom wall area 202, to which a top wall area 225 is articulated.
  • the bottom wall area 201 is connected to a side wall 210, on which a further top wall area 226 is arranged, in the surface of which there is a recess 227 at a short distance from the free edge of the top wall area 226.
  • FIG. 5 shows a cross section through a multi-piece pack which is produced from the blank according to FIG. 4.
  • Two cups B are held on their circumference in the openings 221 and 222 of the bottom wall regions 201 and 202, respectively.
  • the side walls 210 and 212 and the top wall areas 225 and 226 are folded around the two cups B; the top wall area 225 lies above the top wall area 226 and is connected to it by an adhesive seam.
  • the two further wall areas 203 and 205 arranged between the bottom wall areas 201 and 202 are folded upwards in a V-shape between the two cups and glued to one another.
  • the locking tab 223 is folded upward, passed through the recess 227 in the top wall area 226 and clamped between the two top wall areas 225, 226.
  • FIG. 6 shows a blank with two bottom wall areas 301 and 302, in which there are openings 321 and 322, respectively.
  • Two further wall areas 303 and 305 are arranged between the two bottom wall areas 301 and 302 and are connected to one another via a fold line 324. Starting from this fold line 324, a locking tab 323 is punched out of the surface of the wall area 305.
  • the bottom wall area 301 and the wall area 303 are connected to one another via a fold line 328. Following this fold line 328, semicircular recesses 329 are arranged in the surface of the wall area 303. Locking parts 330 are provided in the area of these recesses 329.
  • a top wall area 325 with hooking parts 331 formed on the edge adjoins the bottom wall area 302 via a side wall 312.
  • the bottom wall area 301 is connected to a side wall 310 to which a further top wall area 326 is articulated, in the surface of which a recess 327 is arranged at a short distance from the free edge of the top wall area 326.
  • Within the Recess 327 has slightly curved slots 332.
  • the wall parts 305 and 303 are first folded upward in a V-shape around the fold line 324, the locking parts 330 are fixed in the openings 322 in the bottom wall area 302 and the locking tab 323 is folded up.
  • Three cups are then inserted into the openings 321 and 322 on both sides of this upstanding partition wall, and the side walls 310 and 312 and the top wall area 326 are folded around the cups.
  • the locking tab 323 is inserted through the recess 327 in the top wall area 326 and folded over, the top wall area 325 is folded over and the hooking parts 331 on this top calf area 325 are fixed in the slots 332 in the other top wall area 326.
  • FIG. 7 shows a blank made of cardboard, the bottom wall 401 of which has openings 421 and wall areas 403, these wall areas 4D3 being punched out of the bottom wall 401 and being connected to the latter only along articulation lines 433.
  • the wall areas 403 are divided by fold lines 434 into lower sections 404 and upper sections 405.
  • a side wall 410 is connected to the bottom wall 401 and is connected to a top wall 411.
  • the other side of the bottom wall 401 is connected to a second side wall 412, on which an adhesive tab 413 is arranged.
  • the wall areas 403 are first folded up along the articulation lines 433, thereby opening the openings below for receiving the cups to be packaged. Then six cups are inserted into the openings 421 and the wall areas 403 are folded along the fold lines 434 so that their upper sections 405 rest on the upper cup parts. After these upper wall region sections 405 are provided with a hot melt point, the two side walls 410 and 412 as well as the adhesive flap 413 and the top wall 411 are placed around the cups, the adhesive flap 413 coming under the top wall 411 and being glued to it. The upper sections 405 of the wall areas 403 lie against the inside of the top wall 401 and are connected to it by the previously applied hot melt.
