Fastener, particularly for jewellery chains, with a first element (30) formed as spring closure having a substantially U-shaped form and a second element (50, 70) which engages said spring closure (30), where a tube-shaped leg (32) of the spring closure (30) guides a further tube-shaped element (33) therein, which is connected in a suitable way to a plate (34) perpendicular thereto, and which is moveable in the longitudinal direction of the leg actuating the opening and closing function of the spring closure being biased in the closed position of the spring closure through the action of a resilient means, said second element (50, 70) being so formed that the longitudinal movement of the flat element causing the opening and closing of the spring closure can be actuated by said second element, characterized in that, the second tube-shaped element (33) is additionally guided by a rod (38) extending into the tube interior, which is fixed to the spring closure (30) and whose length is such that it even at the furthest possible displacement of the tube-shaped element (33), it remains in contact with this element and that the second element (50, 70) is formed to have at least one opening for engaging the bow (36) of the spring closure (30) and that said opening joins an opening (52, 72) whose smallest spacing is at least so large that the second element (50, 70) can pass over the rod (38), but on the other hand is not so large that the bow (36) of the spring closure (30) can pass through this opening.

Description

Closing devices for jewelry chains are known in the prior art. They are usually designed in the form of two rings, the one ring being wholly or partly tubular and interrupted at one point in order to enable the introduction of the second ring for opening and closing. The opening is closed with an element with a smaller cross section, which is movably guided in the tubular part of the first ring and is pressed into the closed position by the action of an elastic device. To open the closing element, a small projection is usually arranged, which is moved with the finger or the fingernail.

The operation of such a closure is comparatively tedious, since the dimensions must be kept small in order not to unduly disturb the overall aesthetic impression of the piece of jewelry and prepares especially people with impaired near vision, z. B. due to age-related farsightedness, considerable difficulties.

With the US-A-3 350 753 a locking device for jewelry chains according to the preamble of claim 1 is known.

In this known embodiment, the contact between the surface element and the part of the spring clasp resting thereon is brought about exclusively by friction, the normal force for this frictional load having to be applied by the spring. The tubular element therefore either requires a relatively long guide, or it must be pressed into the closed position with a relatively high spring force in order to avoid lateral movements of the pin.

The object of the present invention is to avoid the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a locking device by means of which the above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art are avoided and which enables reliable and safe functioning.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the subject matter of claim 1.

Advantages, features and possible uses of the present invention result from the subclaims and from the following description of exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the drawing. In it show:
  • 1 and 2 an embodiment of the locking device according to the invention with a partial section of the spring clasp and an associated embodiment of the second element.
  • 3 to 6 different embodiments of the second element engaging in the spring clasp.

An embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. 1. With this design, the spring clasp 30 remains closed even when the second element 50 is inserted; the closing action is brought about in that, when the spring clasp 30 is actuated appropriately, an area with a reduced cross section is released, so that a second element 50 provided with a corresponding opening can be pushed over it.

The spring clasp 30 consists of a first leg 31 and a tubular second leg 32. In the tubular second leg 32, a further tubular element 33 is guided in a longitudinally movable manner. The element 33 ends with a circular plate 34. The tubular element 33 is pressed against the end 37 of the bend 36 by means of the spring 35, which is connected in a suitable manner to the tube, and it can also protrude a little into this tube 33. In this end of the arc 36 a pin 38 is inserted in a suitable manner, which forms a second guide for the tubular element 33, and the length of which is dimensioned such that it is still in contact with the tubular element 33 even when it is displaced as far as possible Element stands. The spring clasp 30 within the arch 36 has a recess 39 in order to increase the freedom of movement of the second element 50. The closing device is opened and closed as follows: the second element 50 is brought up to the clasp in a suitable manner, the opening having to face the spring clasp 30. By pressing on the outwardly projecting part 34 'of the plate 34, the plate with the tubular element is pushed down. This releases the pin 38, over which the opening 52 of the second element 50 is pushed. The pressure on the plate 34 is then ended, so that the tubular element 33 moves back into the starting position due to the action of the spring 35 and thereby pushes the second element 50 into the bend 36. Since the opening 52 of the second element 50 is dimensioned such that the element 50 can be pushed over the pin 38 but not over the arch 36, the second element is held in this position.

There are wide design options for the second element 70 which interacts with the spring clasp 30 according to FIG. 1. Some possible embodiments are shown in FIGS. 3 to 6. A recess or bore 71 is required, which must be dimensioned at least so large that the arch 36 of the spring clasp 30 can engage here. This bore 71 must be connected to an opening 72 which must be wide enough to be pushed over the pin 38, but which must not be wider than the narrowest point of the arc 36. Corresponding devices can also be provided which are required for connection to the rest of the chain.

The variety of possible embodiments of the locking device according to the invention allows extensive adaptation to the respective jewelry chain, so that the locking device can be used in the entire range from the simple metal link chain to the pearl necklace. There are many possible variations in the choice of the material used for the locking device.

According to the desired use Both a material made of stainless steel and a material of the other jewelry materials such as silver, gold or platinum or an alloy of these materials are used here. But also in the jewelry industry so far little used materials such. B. titanium or a titanium alloy can be used. Only the elastic device, the spring 35 in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, is subject to a restriction with regard to the material. Here a material has to be used which has sufficient elasticity and strength properties.
