Abstract

The cross-ties or sleepers (8) between two rails (4) of a track installation consist of a mixture of sand, gravel or rubble as well as elastomer parts which are bonded using a synthetic resin binder. The proportion of elastomer can be greater at the bottom of the sleeper (8) than in the remainder of the sleeper element. The rail (4) is clamped on the sleeper (8) with two clamps (5) by means of nuts (6) and by means of screw bolts welded onto a steel reinforcement (9). Thus, elasticity and damping characteristics similar to those found in wooden sleepers are achieved. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a cross-connecting body for fastening rails of a track system, which is preferably designed in the form of sleepers.

Querverbindungskörper, nachfolgend Schwellen genannt, sind seit Jahren in verschiedenen Ausführungen bekannt.Cross-connection bodies, hereinafter called sleepers, have been known in various designs for years.

They are usually made of impregnated oak or beech wood, iron-reinforced concrete or as pressed parts made of heavy steel sheet.

US Patent 3 893 619).A solid rubber construction with inlaid iron reinforcements is also known (US Patent 3,893,619).

The thresholds made of oak or beech wood do their job excellently in terms of strength and cushioning. Unfortunately, it has become increasingly difficult to obtain such wooden sleepers in recent years and the raw material wood used for this has become increasingly expensive. Thresholds composed of different wooden parts, as described in several patents, are difficult to manufacture and the raw material oak or beech wood is also difficult to obtain.

For this reason, sleepers made of cement-bonded or resin-bonded iron-reinforced concrete are used in many places, which have proven themselves well, are only deficient in terms of elastic compensation from threshold to threshold and in terms of damping. These disadvantages are particularly evident on trains with high driving speeds.

Pressed sheet steel sleepers have the same disadvantages as the concrete sleepers mentioned above, except that they are also susceptible to corrosion.

The invention has for its object to form a cross-connection body between two rails of a Geis system, which is preferably designed in the form of sleepers, so that it has precisely defined elasticity and damping properties and is also corrosion and weather resistant. In addition, this cross-connector body has increased economy in terms of the material used and the manufacturing process used.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the cross-connection body consists of a mixture of sand, gravel or crushed stone made of natural or artificial rocks and of elastomer particles which are bound with a binder made of synthetic resin. The elastomer parts can expediently consist of a granulate which is composed of rubber and fabric parts.

Two exemplary embodiments of the invention are described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. Show it:
  • Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a threshold, in which the proportion of the elastomer is evenly distributed over the entire threshold body, wherein screws are installed, which serve to fasten the rails or the rail holder.
  • Fig. 2 shows a cross section through a threshold, in which the proportion of the elastomer in the zone that rests on the substructure ballast is significantly larger than the proportion of elastomer in the rest of the threshold. The threshold shown in Fig. 2 additionally has steel inserts within the threshold body, which serve to increase the strength.

The threshold 1 shown in FIG. 1 consists of the mixture of sand, gravel or gravel 2 bound with the synthetic resin binder, in which an elastomer 3 is evenly distributed.

A rail 4 is clamped with two clamps 5 by nuts 6 and by screws 7 cast into the sleeper.

In the case of the threshold 8 shown in FIG. 2, the proportion of the elastomer 3 on the underside is considerably larger than the proportion of elastomer in the rest of the threshold. The rail 4 is pulled down to the sill 8 by means of two tension clamps 5 through the nuts 6 and through the screw bolts 7a welded to a steel insert 9.

The invention described above makes it possible to produce the cross-connection body of a track system economically, which are at least equal in terms of elasticity and damping properties and weather resistance to the conventionally used wooden cross-connection body.
