Claims (25)

1. A ski for a handicapped person comprising a seat shell (3), which is supported on a mono-ski (1), with a seat region (7), characterised in that the seat shell (3) has an adjoining further region (28) extending in the longitudinal direction of the ski (1), to accommodate the legs, and that also provided on the seat shell (3) is a towing and support hoop (15) which is formed by two support portions (16) which are pivoted to the seat shell (3) on both sides thereof and which are connected together by means of cross-members (17, 18), and that said towing and support hoop (15) is further pulled away from the seat shell (3) with its ends (21) which are at the rear in the direction of travel, by a spring (20), in such a way that the ends (21) of the support portions (16) rest on the ground.
2. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 1 characterised in that the seat shell (3) has a top portion (5) which is arranged removably on a bottom portion (4).
3. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that the seat region (7) has an upwardly extended side rest (31) and an upwardly extended hack rest (33).
4. A ski for a handicapped person according to one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that the seat shell (3) has a support region (10) for the backs of the knees, which is raised relative to the seat region (7), and a lowered foot region is provided in the front region of the seat shell (3).
5. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 1 characterised in that a towing bar holder (23,40) is arranged on the seat shell (3) or on the front upper end of the towing and support hoop (15).
6. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 5 characterised in that the towing bar holder (23) is formed by two hooks (23', 23") mounted on the upper cross-member (15).
7. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 6 characterised in that the towing bar holder (23) is mounted in such a way that it can be pivoted away in the direction of travel by way of a release means to release the towing bar (T).
8. A ski for a handicapped person according to one of claims 6 and 7 characterised in that the towing bar holder (23) can be at least partially sunk in a fairing pivotally in the opposite direction to the direction of travel.
9. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 5 characterised in that the towing bar holder (40, 44) is formed by a belt (41, 45) which is mounted to the upper ends of the support portions (16), wherein the belt (41, 45) has a fastening (42,46) which can be opened by pressing on an opening knob (43, 47).
10. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 5 characterised in that provided on the seat shell (3) are means (22) for arresting the towing and support hoop (15).
11. A ski for a handicapped person according to one of claims 1 to 10 characterised in that the rearward region of the seat shell (3), which is formed by the seat region (7), is connected to the mono-ski (1) by means of a shock absorber (9) and the support (2) carrying the seat shell (3) is also pivotally connected to the mono-ski (1).

13. A ski for a handicapped person according to one of claims 1 to 12 characterised in that the seat shell (3) comprises fibre-reinforced plastics material.
14. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 12 characterised in that one end of the spring strip (50) is pivoted approximately centrally on the underside of the bottom portion (4) in such a way that it can be pivoted away about an axis perpendicularly to the plane of symmetry and is fixed on the mono-ski (1) at a spacing from the pivotal mounting.
15. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 14 characterised in that the spring strip (50) which is of an elongate configuration is approximately in the shape of a circular arc in a non-loaded condition and that the free end which is not pivotally mounted bears slidingly against the rounded transition between the bottom of the bottom portion (4) and the back rest (33).
16. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 15 characterised in that provided at the transition is a special guide (56) with a wear- resistant sliding surface by which the spring (50) is at least also laterally guided.
17. A ski for a handicapped person according to one of claims 12 to 16 characterised in that the spring strip (50) is held by at least one and preferably two vibration dampers (49) which are fixed at a spacing on the mono-ski (1) and which greatly absorb oscillation about the longitudinal axis and less greatly damp oscillation about the transverse axis.
18. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 18 characterised in that the vibration dapper (49) comprises two U-shaped bars (49', 49") of different widths, the openings of which are towards each other, wherein a respective elastomer or rubber bridge (57, 58, 58') is provided beteeen the base portions and the limbs respectively (Figure 11).
19. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 15 characterised in that the bridge (57, 58, 58') connecting the base portions is at least partially recessed opposite the limbs of the narrower U-shaped bar (49").
20. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 17 characterised in that there are two vibration dampers (49) and they are adjustable in the longitudinal direction on an adjusting bar (48) of the mono-ski (1), wherein the fixing of the spring (50) is also variable relative to the vibration dampers (49) in the longitudinal direction of the mono-ski (1) (Figures 8 to 10).
21. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 5 characterised in that the towing bar holder (23, 40, 44) is releasably mounted at the upper end of the support portions (16) which are pivoted laterally to the bottom portion (4), and the towing bar holder (23,40,44) extends arcuately over the top portion (5) and in the position for travel lies on the top side of the top portion (5) and in the waiting or starting position is pivoted away therefrom by a spring (20), limited by the lower ends of the support portions (16) bearing against the ground.
22. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 5 characterised in that the towing bar holder (23, 40, 44), in its position for travel, is sunk in a receiving groove (39) in the top portion (5), in which case the lower ends of the support portions (16) then also bear against the bottom portion (4) (Figure 9).
23. A ski for a handicapped person according to claims 7 and 22 characterised in that provided in the towing bar holder (23, 40, 44) is a release device which can be released by the knob (47) by way of a Bowden cable.
24. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 1 or one of the following claims characterised in that the seat region (7) is damped in respect of movement relative to the mono-ski (1) by a shock absorber (9), possibly with an additional spring (50') (Figure 10).
25. A ski for a handicapped person according to claim 1 or one of the following claims characterised in that provided on the underside of the bottom portion (4) are two parallel adjusting bars (53, 54) for mounting two skis (1', 1") for cross-country skiing, the mounting being adjustable in respect of width.
