  • the final formation of the web is then carried out in one or more passes between FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, by shaping between an external tool (die and an internal tool (punch) disposed in the wheel.
  • This or these operations are also carried out on a press which belongs to the transfer line taking charge of the entire manufacture of the wheel from the initial blank.
  • One of the advantages of the invention is that it makes it possible to manufacture an excellent quality steel wheel on a single production line, thus combining the advantages of mass production at low cost, to premium wheel features. It also makes it possible to differentiate the thicknesses of the web and of the rim and to adjust their ratio to a desired value which can be between 1 and 2 in particular by thinning the thickness of the rim.
