Definitions
- the invention relates to a tap hole closure for cans in which a liquid is kept under pressure or without pressure and is removed therefrom under pressure by means of a dispensing fitting, consisting of an axially pierced stopper-like bung with at least one sealing part in the inner bore, one for resting on the can opening Surrounding edge region of the can lid serving cantilever and a sealing seat provided below the cantilever for the edge of the can opening (see. DE-A-2 821051).
- Bunghole closures of this type are known in various embodiments. They are pierced with a small tap to tap the liquid under pressure.
- the bunghole closure must on the one hand ensure that the can is completely sealed with the isobarometric liquid and, on the other hand, when the piercing plug is inserted, it is sealed in such a way that the pressure conditions prevailing and occurring in the can are in no way impaired.
- an annular recess which is expediently provided with a sealing lip and into which the edge of the bunghole engages, is arranged at the joint between the overhang and the outer wall of the known sheet pans. This means that there may be a certain weakening at this point in the wall of the sheet pile.
- the seal against the inserted and inserted prong of the tap fitting is achieved by two or three bead rings in the inner bore of the bung.
- a sufficient elasticity of the bung is required for the sealing process and therefore the known bung are made of a rubber-like, relatively soft material that has to be adjusted to a certain Shore hardness. If the Shore hardness is too high, the tightness suffers.
- the disadvantage of the known bunghole closures is, among other things, that an optimal seal cannot be achieved. Compromises must therefore be made that ultimately do not lead to satisfactory results.
- the rubber material in the cone area of the sheet pile can be replaced.
- the bunghole plug can only be installed by considerable mutual force exertion on the peripheral edge, for example by several hammer blows. A hammer blow on freshly bottled beer is highly undesirable, especially because of the immediate decarbonization.
- the projection which rests on the edge area of the can lid surrounding the can opening, is made of the same soft material as the sealing part.
- the soft overhang can give way and the whole sheet pile can be pressed into the can.
- the cone of the sheet pile must give way so that the opening edge can snap into the recess on the outer wall of the sheet pile. Due to the force of the hammer blow, the can lid can also be deformed. Furthermore, the rubber bung can be retracted when piercing, if the piercing tab of the tap fitting, which is generally made of hard plastic, is not moistened prior to piercing.
- the resistance opposed to the gore by the bead rings and the sealing cap anchored and ejected in the bead rings is often so great that the sheet pile rifle with the gore is pulled into the box.
- the opening of the bung hole can also be distorted by the fact that when the filled can is stored without cooling, for example in the summer by heating, the pressure in the can increases. A warped can opening also deforms the soft bunghole closure, so that the tightness suffers.
- the object of the invention is to provide a bunghole closure of the type mentioned, in which the bunghole has sufficient strength on the one hand and on the other hand ensures a perfect seal and thus eliminates the disadvantages of the known closures and automatic sealing of the cans is also possible by machine and Beer is not damaged by hammer blows immediately after bottling.
- a soft part forming the bung bush and a hard part which reinforces it is provided, which surrounds the soft part in the form of a sleeve like a cage, and a projection is formed on a free edge of the sleeve, which protrudes into the projection of the soft part is embedded, the jacket of the sleeve is perforated, such that webs extending from a ring opposite the projection of the sleeve to an upper end ring of the sleeve and between two webs starting from the ring, ending below the end ring and projecting conically outwards are arranged are, and that the webs are embedded flush in the material of the soft part of the sheet pile rifle, while the catches can be pressed into the material.
- the snaps that are pushed in through the edge of the can opening spread out again and snap into place at the edge of the can opening.
- the bunghole closure is held permanently.
- the production of the bunghole closure according to the invention is extremely simple, since it can be produced by spraying in one operation.
- the bunghole closure consists of a soft part and a hard part II.
- the soft part I is the sealing bung with a projection 1 and sealing parts, such as bead rings 3 in the inner bore.
- a circumferential surface 4 is provided in the jacket of the sheet pile, which in a preferred embodiment of the bunghole closure according to the invention takes on the task of sealing between the sheet pile and the edge 14 of the can opening 13 in the can lid 12 (FIG. 5). This results in a particularly good surface seal, which guarantees 100% tightness even with cans not under pressure.
- the hard part 11 reinforces the soft part I responsible for the seal. It consists of a sleeve 5 which has a projection 6 on one edge. This projection 6 is embedded in the projection 1 of the soft part I (FIGS. 2 and 4).
- the jacket of the sleeve 5 is broken through in the axial direction.
- the edge of the sleeve 5 opposite the projection 6 is closed by a ring 7. From the edge of this ring 7 go webs 8, which are connected to an upper end edge 7 'of the sleeve 5.
- Snaps 9 extending from the ring 7 are also provided between two webs 8. These catches 9 are flared outwards and end below the end ring 7 'of the sleeve 5 (FIG. 3). They form the latching of the bunghole closure in the can opening 13.
- the assembled bunghole closure can be seen from FIGS. 2, 2A and 4.
- the sleeve 5 of the hard part II surrounds the body of the soft part I forming the bung bush, the webs 8 being embedded in the soft part I, but the outer sides of the webs 8 being flush with the material of the soft part I.
- the snappers 9 project with their conically outwardly extending outer surfaces over the surface 4 below the overhang 1 of the soft part I. In this way, a kind of recess is created below the projection 1, in which the edge 14 of the can opening 13 engages. This recess is delimited by the surface 4 mentioned above.
- the projection 6 of the sleeve 5 is embedded in the projection 1 of the soft part I and completely surrounded by its material.
- the free top of each catch 9 is almost covered by the material of the soft part I, so that there is no weak or leaky point here and the ring 2 (FIG. 2) of the material of the soft part I having the surface 4 has no interruption.
- Two embodiments are possible for closing the bore of the sheet pile rifle.
- the opening of the sleeve 5 of the hard part 11 opposite the projection 6 can be closed by a plate 10 formed on the free edge of the ring 7.
- This plate 10 must be pierced by the spear of the tap fitting and for this purpose predetermined breaking points 10 'are provided in the plate.
- the sleeve 5 can be open at both ends.
- a sealing cap 11 known per se is provided, which takes up the entire bore of the bung. It is a sealing and cover cap at the same time (Fig. 4).
- the bottom of the soft part I can be closed by a pierceable plate or membrane (not shown), which ensures the tightness of the bunghole closure to be used and inserted.
- the plate or membrane can be molded onto the bottom edge of the soft part I.

Abstract
Description
DE-A-2 821051).The invention relates to a tap hole closure for cans in which a liquid is kept under pressure or without pressure and is removed therefrom under pressure by means of a dispensing fitting, consisting of an axially pierced stopper-like bung with at least one sealing part in the inner bore, one for resting on the can opening Surrounding edge region of the can lid serving cantilever and a sealing seat provided below the cantilever for the edge of the can opening (see. DE-A-2 821051).
Bunghole closures of this type are known in various embodiments. They are pierced with a small tap to tap the liquid under pressure. The bunghole closure must on the one hand ensure that the can is completely sealed with the isobarometric liquid and, on the other hand, when the piercing plug is inserted, it is sealed in such a way that the pressure conditions prevailing and occurring in the can are in no way impaired. In order to ensure a tight fit in the can opening, an annular recess, which is expediently provided with a sealing lip and into which the edge of the bunghole engages, is arranged at the joint between the overhang and the outer wall of the known sheet pans. This means that there may be a certain weakening at this point in the wall of the sheet pile. The seal against the inserted and inserted prong of the tap fitting is achieved by two or three bead rings in the inner bore of the bung. A sufficient elasticity of the bung is required for the sealing process and therefore the known bung are made of a rubber-like, relatively soft material that has to be adjusted to a certain Shore hardness. If the Shore hardness is too high, the tightness suffers.
The disadvantage of the known bunghole closures is, among other things, that an optimal seal cannot be achieved. Compromises must therefore be made that ultimately do not lead to satisfactory results. This means that the sheet pile can never be inserted axially and in one operation. The rubber material in the cone area of the sheet pile can be replaced. The bunghole plug can only be installed by considerable mutual force exertion on the peripheral edge, for example by several hammer blows. A hammer blow on freshly bottled beer is highly undesirable, especially because of the immediate decarbonization. The projection, which rests on the edge area of the can lid surrounding the can opening, is made of the same soft material as the sealing part. If such a sheet pile can be hammered into the can opening, the soft overhang can give way and the whole sheet pile can be pressed into the can. When tapping, the cone of the sheet pile must give way so that the opening edge can snap into the recess on the outer wall of the sheet pile. Due to the force of the hammer blow, the can lid can also be deformed. Furthermore, the rubber bung can be retracted when piercing, if the piercing tab of the tap fitting, which is generally made of hard plastic, is not moistened prior to piercing. The resistance opposed to the gore by the bead rings and the sealing cap anchored and ejected in the bead rings is often so great that the sheet pile rifle with the gore is pulled into the box. Finally, the opening of the bung hole can also be distorted by the fact that when the filled can is stored without cooling, for example in the summer by heating, the pressure in the can increases. A warped can opening also deforms the soft bunghole closure, so that the tightness suffers.
The object of the invention is to provide a bunghole closure of the type mentioned, in which the bunghole has sufficient strength on the one hand and on the other hand ensures a perfect seal and thus eliminates the disadvantages of the known closures and automatic sealing of the cans is also possible by machine and Beer is not damaged by hammer blows immediately after bottling.
This object is achieved in that a soft part forming the bung bush and a hard part which reinforces it is provided, which surrounds the soft part in the form of a sleeve like a cage, and a projection is formed on a free edge of the sleeve, which protrudes into the projection of the soft part is embedded, the jacket of the sleeve is perforated, such that webs extending from a ring opposite the projection of the sleeve to an upper end ring of the sleeve and between two webs starting from the ring, ending below the end ring and projecting conically outwards are arranged are, and that the webs are embedded flush in the material of the soft part of the sheet pile rifle, while the catches can be pressed into the material.
Appropriate designs of the bunghole closure are characterized in the subclaims.
With such a bunghole closure all disadvantages of the well-known bung-type cans are eliminated. The combination of the soft part, which ensures the seal, with a hard part prevents the bung is pressed in both when inserting it into a can opening and when piercing. The cantilever is so strong due to the reinforcement made of hard material that it cannot deform. In addition, the hard part that surrounds it gives the sheet pile rifle such a degree of rigidity that there is no need to fear warping of the can opening and thus deformation of the sheet pile rifle. In addition, assembly is made easier. When inserted, the bunghole closure slips more easily into the can opening thanks to the smooth outer wall of the sleeve parts and the spring effect of the catch. As soon as the cantilever of the bung is seated on the can lid, the snaps that are pushed in through the edge of the can opening spread out again and snap into place at the edge of the can opening. The bunghole closure is held permanently. The production of the bunghole closure according to the invention is extremely simple, since it can be produced by spraying in one operation.

The bunghole closure consists of a soft part and a hard part II.
The soft part I is the sealing bung with a projection 1 and sealing parts, such as
Sie bilden die Verrastung des Spundlochverschlusses in der Dosenöffnung 13.The hard part 11 reinforces the soft part I responsible for the seal. It consists of a sleeve 5 which has a
The assembled bunghole closure can be seen from FIGS. 2, 2A and 4. The
When the bunghole closure is pressed into the
Two embodiments are possible for closing the bore of the sheet pile rifle.
The opening of the sleeve 5 of the hard part 11 opposite the
Sie ist Dicht- und Abdeckkappe zugleich (Fig. 4).On the other hand, the sleeve 5 can be open at both ends. In this case, a sealing cap 11 known per se is provided, which takes up the entire bore of the bung. It is a sealing and cover cap at the same time (Fig. 4).
Finally, the bottom of the soft part I can be closed by a pierceable plate or membrane (not shown), which ensures the tightness of the bunghole closure to be used and inserted.
