Description

The present invention relates generally to a device for mounting and fixing a lamp on its support, and more particularly to a device for mounting and fixing a lamp in a headlight of a motor vehicle.

To date, the lamps for a motor vehicle headlamp are put in place by engaging the base of the lamp in a support flange, then by folding over the base at least one metal pin pivotally mounted on the flange, to lock the lamp in square. However, current pins have several drawbacks due to their structure. First of all, the pins of the prior art only provide an insecure holding in place of the lamp, due to a lack of rigidity in the closed position. Another disadvantage of these pins of the prior art lies in the fact that their mounting on the associated lamp holder flange is such that it requires an additional operation to achieve its captivity, in particular when changing the lamp. Finally, the known pins are, on delivery, in the form of open loops arranged in bulk in a carton, which causes significant loss of time during assembly with the chain because they have a marked tendency to tangled with each other, and the fitter must untangle them before they can be used to mount them on the flange.

The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks and to propose a pin which is simple to mount without additional operation to ensure the captivity, which cannot in any case be separated from the associated flange once it has been mounted on it. ci and placed in the closed position, and which presents, in the loose state, no tendency to become entangled with other pins.

To this end, the present invention relates to a device for fixing an electric lamp, of the type comprising a lamp holder flange having an opening intended to receive the base of a lamp, and a pin consisting of a wire folded in loop, pivotally mounted on an edge of said opening, for pivoting between an open position in which the opening is released and a closed position in which the pin locks the lamp in position, characterized in that a first end of said wire is pivotally mounted in at least one bearing formed on said edge of the collar, and the opposite end of the wire is shaped so as to have a barrel part arranged to receive a part of the first end and to engage in a recess associated in the collar when said pin is in the closed position. Thus, the loop is locked for said closed position.

The invention will be better understood on reading the following detailed description, given by way of example and made with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
  • - Figure 1 is a perspective view of the fixing mounting device according to the invention, in the closed position; and
  • FIGS. 2A to 2D are partial perspective views illustrating the sequence of assembly operations for the device in FIG. 1.

With reference to FIG. 1, the device for fixing a lamp of the invention comprises a collar 10, for example of stamped and cut metal, consisting of a short cylindrical sleeve 12 defining an opening intended to receive the base of a motor vehicle headlamp lamp, a substantially planar upper part 14 surrounding the opening, and a lower part 15 forming support ring for a lamp flange.

Such a collar 10 is conventionally fixed to the reflector of the projector (not shown. In the example shown, the device is intended for fixing a H4 type lamp, the base of which has a lower peripheral support collar surmounted by three coplanar axial positioning fins extending perpendicular to the base and parallel to the peripheral flange. , while its three fins engage in three housings 22.

Two bearings are provided on the upper part 14 and each consist of a protuberance 16 crossed by a hole 18, the two holes 18 having a common axis extending parallel to the plane of the part 14. The flange 10 further comprises a hook 20 extending upwards from the junction between the parts 12 and 14 of the collar, and substantially diametrically opposite the bearings 16. The collar has, as indicated, three housings 22 in the junction region between parts 12 and 14, intended to receive the fins to ensure the correct positioning of the base of an H4 lamp.

The device according to the invention is completed by a pin 30 consisting of a rigid and elastic wire, for example made of spring steel, bent in a suitable loop, as shown in the drawings, this form forming part of the invention. A first end 32 of the wire is substantially straight and is pivotally mounted in the bearings 16 of the flange 10. It will be noted in this respect that the diameter of the holes 18 is slightly greater than that of the wire constituting the pin. Thread further comprises two main arms 34 and 36, substantially parallel to each other, extending between the bearings 16 and the hook 20. A suitable profile 38 is provided at the junction of the two arms in order to be able to cooperate with the hook 20. The end 40 of the wire opposite to the first end 32 is shaped in a semicircle, forming a cradle, the interior of the semicircle being arranged to be pressed by the elasticity of the material constituting the wire against the underside of the first end portion 32, in the region of the free end thereof. As can be seen in FIG. 1, in which the illustrated device is in the closed position, the part 40 in the form of a semicircle, constituting by itself a protruding part, engages in a recess 42 provided for this purpose in the collar 10, adjacent to the bearing 16 located on the left in the figure. The pin 30 is thus effectively locked in place, and the arm 36 sees its lateral movement blocked, which ensures a secure hold in place of the lamp. As will be seen later, the half-toroid 40 also serves to avoid any separation of the pin 30 from the flange 10 when the device is in the open position.

In a manner known in itself, the arms 34 and 36 are given a suitable profile for the satisfactory retention in place of the base of the lamp in the opening. The lamp is pushed against the support crown 15 by the two elbows 39 of the pin 30.

With reference to FIGS. 2A to 2D, the sequence of operations for mounting the pin on the flange is described below; the embodiment of these figures differs slightly from that of Figure 1 as to the shape of the profile 38. As a corollary, the hook of Figure 2 is simple while the other figures show a double hook.

It should first be noted that, the pin being delivered in the form of a closed loop, the two ends of the wire being joined at the level of the part 40, no risk of tangling the pins with each other. others are not to be feared, and the fitter can thus take each pin in a box where they are arranged in bulk, without loss of time.

For mounting, the end part 32 is first of all aligned axially with the holes 18 of the bearings 16 of the flange 10 (FIG. 2A). To allow the introduction of the rectilinear part 32 into the holes 18 by translation, the opposite end part 40 of the wire is lifted by the operator to release the pivoting part 32 (FIG. 2B). After the part 32 has been placed in the holes 18, the part 40 is released and of course comes to be pressed again above the free end of the part 32. It can already be seen here that, even in the open position (FIG. 2C), thanks to the part 40 folded by elasticity on the end of the part 32 once introduced into the bearings, it is impossible for the pin to accidentally separate from the collar, and it will in no case be lost. Figure 2D illustrates the device of Figures 2A to 2C in its closed position, after a rotation of approximately 180 ° around the pivot axis defined by the bearings 16. As can be seen, during this rotation, the half - toroid of the end 40 has penetrated into the recess 42 formed in the flange near one of the bearings 16, and the associated arm 36 is thus prevented from moving laterally, which ensures that it is held securely in place and effective of the lamp (not shown) in the opening.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described, and includes within its scope any variant or modification that may be made by those skilled in the art within the scope of his normal knowledge. In particular, the shape of the collar and the pin can easily be adapted to lamps of all types.
