A grooved rail switch with a tongue rail device includes a tongue rail displaceably supported on a torsion-stiff support box for movement between a stock rail and a switch rail. The support box is made up of an upper slide plate, a lower bottom plate and flat bars extending between and welded to the slide plate and bottom plate. High strength bolts secure the stock rail to one side of the support box and the switch rail to the other side.

Description

The invention relates to a tongue device for grooved rail switches, the tongue between the stock rail and the case of rail on a sliding plate is displaceable by means of an adjusting device.

This slide plate is usually connected to the web of the cheek rail and the side rail by means of weld seams. To increase the stability, both rails have a support in the form of a rolled-in shoulder or a welded-on strip in the web area, onto which the sliding plate is placed and then welded. The stock rail and the side rail rest on a base plate and are also connected to it by welds. Such a construction is described in utility model DE-U-69 16 985, Figure 2.

This construction, which is still common today, is disadvantageous in several ways: For example, special roller profiles are required for the stock rail and the side rail, but these are disproportionately expensive because they are only required in limited lengths and have to be manufactured separately. However, since the manufacturer of this profile can only roll from a certain minimum quantity, the switch manufacturer is forced to dispose of these special profiles in the long term and to keep them in storage.

Another disadvantage of this tongue area construction is that the base plate (base plate) to which the stock rail and the side rail are welded is approximately 15 mm thick, so that the tongue area is higher than the subsequent track rails by the thickness of this base plate. When installing the tongue area, this difference must be compensated for by additional construction measures.

The stock rail with the required special rolled profile (type designation BA 75) usually has an average carbon content of 0.6%, so that welding can only be carried out after sufficient preheating. Even with this preheating and also with careful welding, there is a risk of tearing in the area of the stock rail at the ends of the base plate, because in this area the weld seam has a notch effect. There is a risk of further cracks forming if the tongue area is inevitably straightened after welding. A rationalization of the welding work through automation is countered by the poor accessibility of the weld seams between the stock or guide rail and the sliding plate.

Because of the distortion of the device that occurs during the welding of the construction, the assembly of the tongue area is very complex. The tongue and slide plate must be carefully matched to one another so that an even, continuous support of the tongue is ensured. This requires a considerable amount of grinding work.

Such constructions can be found in DE-C-826 307 and DE-C-9 44 255 (patent application G 15126 V / 19a). However, these constructions have the disadvantage that the screw connections, in particular when the stock rail and the side rail do not rest on the track bed, become loose over time and safe driving operation is no longer ensured. Otherwise, the inner web sides of the stock rail and the side rail must also be provided with webs or shoulders so that the sliding plate can be placed on:

Such constructions fixed by screwing have therefore not been able to establish themselves on trams or light rail vehicles in local public transport.

The present invention has for its object to provide a tongue device in which the aforementioned disadvantages are eliminated. The great stability of the welded construction should be preserved. The required tongue device should be able to be produced using conventional profiles, and in particular profiles should be used which are available in weldable steel grades.

Surprisingly, it has now been found that the object on which the invention is based can be achieved with a construction in which the slide plate and a corresponding base plate are welded to laterally arranged flat bars to form a torsion-resistant tongue support box with which the stock rail and the side rail are fastened by means of high-strength screws are screwed.

The construction according to the invention is therefore based on the idea of dissolving the slide plate and the base plate, which according to the prior art usually form a fixed frame with the stock rail and the guide rail, and to form a separate unit. This separate unit in the form of a torsion-resistant tongue support box is formed according to the invention by the slide plate and the correspondingly shaped base plate together with the laterally arranged flat bars which are connected to one another by welds. The vertically arranged flat bars therefore take on the supporting role of the stock and guide rails.

Structural steels according to DIN 17 100 up to a carbon content of 0.25% can be used for the base plate and the vertically standing flat bars and welded without preheating. Due to their load, the wear plate requires the use of a wear-resistant steel quality. For this, le Proven steels that have high strength with good toughness and good wear properties when weldable even without preheating.

After welding the tongue support box, the slide plate is machined to achieve a continuous support of the tongue. When assembling the tongue device according to the invention, the stock rail and side rail are screwed to the torsion-resistant tongue support box with high-strength screws which are inserted horizontally through the rails and the tongue support box. The tongue is then inserted. The tongue base is matched to the profile of the insert rail and welded to it. A welded oblique joint can also take the place of the welded joint.

A conventional adjusting device can be used to move the tongue between the stock rail and the side rail. The actuating element is connected to a pin which is located on the underside of the tongue in the area of the tongue tip. A preferred embodiment of the tongue device according to the invention is therefore characterized in that the tongue support box has cutouts in the area of the tongue end for receiving the tongue pin and for carrying out a tongue adjustment element engaging on the tongue pin.

It is expedient that below the cutout of the slide plate the base plate also has a corresponding cutout so that water, such as rainwater, can be drained down through the device.

In order to ensure the transition of the leading edge of the insertion rail to the leading edge of the side rail without a jump, a preferred embodiment of the tongue device is designed such that the side rail has a recess for the guide rail of the insertion rail.

To further increase the mechanical stability and thus the operational safety, the tongue support box can be designed in such a way that the tongue base can be fastened on its side facing the side rail. Such a preferred embodiment of the tongue device according to the invention is characterized in that the tongue support box extends in the area of the tongue base as far as the insertion rail and on the side facing the side rail has a notch which corresponds in its dimension to the tongue base executed at the rail profile height and the cheek rail with the Tongue support box is screwed in the area of the notch, the tongue base, the lining piece and the side rail. This determines the position of the tongue in the area of the tongue. It is particularly advantageous that the tongue end is firmly clamped behind the spring point and in front of the welding point of the tongue base and insertion rail. This eliminates the risk of cracks or breaks in the area of the weld.

The tongue device according to the invention thus has a number of special advantages which relate to the manufacture of the device and / or its operational safety:

The tongue device according to the invention can be efficiently produced by means of automatic welding machines. No special profiles are required. Rather, standard profiles can be used, so that the storage costs are correspondingly low. The use of steel materials with less than 0.25% carbon content means that preheating during welding can be dispensed with. The assembly is made considerably easier, since after the machining no welds have to be carried out and a heat distortion of the components is excluded. The tongue device has the same components as the sidings. There is therefore no need for any additional construction work for any height compensation. The entire device is a stable, torsionally rigid unit, which can be assembled prefabricated at the place of installation. The risk of breakage, tears or other damage, especially in the tongue area, has been largely eliminated.

In Figure 1, the tongue support box essential to the invention is designated by 1. This tongue support box 1 consists of the slide plate 2, the base plate 3, which corresponds in shape to the slide plate 2 and flat iron 4 and 5, whereby in the illustrated tongue support box 1, the flat iron 4 and 5 are each divided into two sections and with a gap 7 , 8 are connected to the sliding plate 2 and the base plate 3 by a weld. The slide plate 2 of the tongue support box 1 has a cutout 6, the base plate 3 has a cutout 9. To avoid the ingress of water, it can be useful to seal the end faces of the flat bars 4 and 5 with the section of a further flat bar. The flat bars 4 and 5 have bores 28 for the later assembly of the tongue device according to the invention. After assembling the tongue support box 1, the surface of the sliding plate 2 is to be machined and ground so that the tongue tip, which is movable in the mounted state, lies evenly on its underside.

The tongue 10 is made of a Voiiprofii 10, which has the height of the insertion rail 15 in the area of the tongue base 12. The tongue 10 is welded to the insertion rail 15 in the form shown at the end of the tongue base 12. The tongue base 12 has a bore 28. Between the base of the tongue 12 and the tip of the tongue Tongue 10 is located next to the tongue base 12 a spring point 13, which makes it possible to put the tongue 10 of the stock rail 22 or the side rail 18. The tongue 10 has a tongue pin 11 with a bore. An adjusting element (not shown) of a point setting device acts on these tongue pins.

The, rail 18 is made from a standard profile and has holes 28 for later assembly. The nose 19 of the side rail 18 has a recess 21 on the end region facing the insertion rail 15. This recess 21 is dimensioned such that the guide rail 16 of the insertion rail 15 fits into the recess 21 of the extension rail 18, the leading edge 17 of the insertion rail 15 also the Leitkente 20 of the rail 18 is aligned to give a smooth transition.

The stock rail 22, which is made from a grooved rail, shows the full profile and the rail base 23 in the pointed region. The rail base 23 is processed so that the tongue support box 1 comes to rest against the rail web 24 of the stock rail 22. The traveling head of the stock rail 22 is worked out in accordance with the contact surface of the tongue 10, so that a uniform overflow of the wheel is ensured in the end region 27 when the tab 10 bears against the traveling head of the stock rail 22. Like the other components, the stock rail 22 also has bores 28.

When assembling the tongue device according to the invention, the stock rail 22, the tongue support box 1 and the side rail 18 are connected with high-strength screws 29 which are 28-plugged through the corresponding holes. In order to compensate for the inclined position between the screw heads and the stock rail 22 as well as the nuts 32 and the side rail 18, spherical washers 30 and conical cups 31 are pushed onto the screws 29 and then the nuts 32 are screwed on. Then the tongue 10 is placed on the support box 1, the tongue pin 11 being guided through the cutout 6 of the sliding plate 2. The tongue base 12 is then immediately behind the width base of the tongue support box 1. The tongue 10 is also fixed in the tongue device by screwing, a screw 29 through the last bore 28 of the stock rail 22, the spacer 33, the tongue base 12, the spacer 34 and is passed through the last hole in the side rail 18.

Die Leitkante 17 der Einsteckschiene 15 fluchtet mit der Leitkante 20 der Beischiene 18.FIG. 2, which shows the device according to the invention in the assembled state, shows the position in which the tongue 10 rests on the stock rail 22. In the pointed area of the tongue device, the tongue support box 1, consisting of slide plate 2, base plate 3 and flat iron 4 and 5, can be seen. A circular cutout in the side rail 18 enables the adjustment element of the adjusting device to be fastened to the tongue pin 11. The tongue 10 is welded to the insertion rail 15 in the region 14. The leading edge 17 of the insertion rail 15 is aligned with the leading edge 20 of the auxiliary rail 18.

The side rail 18 and the stock rail 22 are essentially unchanged. However, the tongue support box 1 differs from the tongue support box shown in FIG. 1 in that the tongue support box 1 extends in the area of the tongue base 35 to the insertion rail 15 and on the side facing the side rail 18 has a notch 36, the dimensions of which are at the rail profile height executed tongue base 35 corresponds. The tongue base 35 of the tongue 10 is inserted into the notch 36 during assembly, whereby in connection with the spacer tab 37 a "particularly stable and resilient connection of the tongue 10 and the insertion rail 15 with the tongue support box 1, the stock rail 22 and the side rail 18 is effected It is particularly advantageous that this fixation in the area of the tongue base 35 protects the welding point 14 against mechanical tensile or compressive stress when the tongue 10 is moved back and forth. In all other parts, the device shown in FIG Device of Figure 1, so that the description given there also applies to this embodiment.

The special feature of this embodiment is that the insertion rail 15 is not welded to the tongue 10, but has an oblique joint 38, the fixing being carried out during assembly by the screw connection with the spacer plate 37.
