Silos, deren Füllgut mit Transportfahrzeugen entnommen wird, müssen auf eine Unterkonstruktion gesetzt werden, die ausreichende Durchfahrtshöhe und -breite besitzt. Dies gilt sowohl für transportable Silos, die vornehmlich auf Baustellen aufgestellt werden, als auch insbesondere für ortsfeste Silos, wie Erzsilos, Kohlesilos, Schottersilos, Silos für Zuschlagstoffe, Getreidesilos, Gärfuttersilos und Silos für pulver- und staubförmige Schüttgüter. Die runde und zylindrische Form für die Silozellen wird bevorzugt. Hierzu hat man über den Umfang des Silos verteilt eine Anzahl von Stützen angeordnet, die das Silo am oberen Ende des Auslauftrichters unterstützen. Die Kopfenden der Stützen sind durch einen horizontalen Ringträger verbunden, der entweder einen Polygonzug bildet (z.B. Rechteck) oder einen Kreisring. Bei kreiszylindrischen Silos wird der Ringträger in der Regel durch eine geeignete Ausbildung des Überganges vom Kreiszylinder zum Auslauf trichter geschaffen und ist nicht sichtbar abgegrenzt. Diese können aber ein antimetrisches Knicken in radialer Richtung nicht verhindern, so daß nach einem weiteren Vorschlag der Erfindung die Stützen durch Horizontalstäbe gegen den Trichterauslauf des Silobehälters abgestützt werden.
