Abstract

An ink metering system for letterpress and offset printing machines is provided in which the duct roller, the ink vibrator discs and the transfer roller have a low circumferential speed and wherein the ink is accelerated by suitable vibrator devices to higher speeds corresponding to the circumferential speed of the plate cylinder. The ink vibrator discs are controlled under defined conditions by various lever systems in order that the ink may be transferred controllably and in optimum manner without any empty gaps. The ink vibrator discs can also be readily removed and fitted for repair and cleaning purposes.

Description

The invention relates to a color metering device for book and offset printing machines according to the preamble of claim 1 (DE-A-2 924 635).

In order to be able to achieve a good transfer of the ink for a given print job, a wide variety of solutions in the form of split lifter rollers have become known.

For example, CH-A-169 362 shows an inking unit for rotary printing presses with a plurality of individually adjustable and detachable lifter rollers arranged on a common shaft, the lengths of which correspond to the width of one printing plate. For each lifting roller, a control disk with several cams of different sizes lying next to one another is arranged on a common shaft so as to be longitudinally displaceable and adjustable.

With this device it should be possible to be able to regulate the coloring of each individual page in relation to the color strip position during operation from a central point.

In der DD-A-104 259 soll die Aufgabe gelöst werden, vorbestimmte und/oder berechnete dosierte Farbmengen programmiert einstellen zu können, sowie Farbführungsstörungen während des Fortdruckes regeltechnisch mit maschinentechnischen Voraussetzungen beseitigen zu können.DD-A-104 259 is intended to solve the problem of being able to program predetermined and / or calculated metered amounts of ink in a programmed manner, and to be able to eliminate inking disturbances during production by means of control technology with machine-technical requirements.

This is to be achieved by means of a device for zone screwless and ink knife-free ink metering on printing presses in offset printing and letterpress printing. In order to achieve a predetermined uniform coloration on the printing sheet when printing solid areas, an ink layer thickness required for each ink-paper combination used is provided by finely adjusting a roller gap between a ductor and a counter roller and / or by a speed difference between these two rollers. The zone discs are only guided on one side.

In DE-A-2 924 635, the task of a ink metering device in book and offset printing machines is to solve the problem of reducing the susceptibility to interference from paper components and fountain solution and to enable a color requirement of the printing form that corresponds exactly to the ink supply.

This is to be achieved by an ink metering device which consists of an ink fountain with ink knife and an ink fountain roller with ink lifter for electronic ink zone remote controls for book and offset printing presses and in which several ink lifter wheels are provided which oscillate individually and independently of one another and their width in each case a specific ink zone corresponds.

All of the above-mentioned devices divide the lifting roller into a plurality of transfer rollers which are arranged next to one another in the manner of disks and which each have to be held laterally for driving. This means a large gap between the individual ink transfer rollers when the ink transfer rollers are held on both sides. Nevertheless, the size of the lever arm means that the holder is not sufficient to be able to absorb the forces when the ink is transferred from the box roller to a friction roller rotating in particular at a higher peripheral speed. A lateral deflection while touching the ink lifter discs on the grater cannot be avoided with the narrow mounting plates. Since this deflection occurs during each contact with the friction roller, there is a risk of the bracket plate breaking. It is only stated about the control of the paint regulator disc wheels, it can be done as required, but not with which technical means they are carried out. Furthermore, the speed difference between the box roller and the friction roller must be compensated for with each touch, which leads to large signs of wear on the transfer rollers.

Based on this prior art, the invention has for its object to provide an ink metering device that enables ink transfer from the ink fountain roller without empty gaps - between two adjacent lifting discs on the transfer roller, the ink lifting discs are easily replaceable.

The solution of the problem is achieved in a color metering device of the type mentioned by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

The peripheral speed of the rollers involved in the ink metering are the same size, i. H. the paint can be dosed on the rollers without slipping. The ink is applied from the ink fountain to the ink fountain roller with a gap width that is fixed on the ink slides. The ink is fed back to the ink fountain after one rotation of the ink fountain roller, if it has not been removed from the ink fountain roller by the ink lift disks. In this way, dosing in the zero quantity range can be carried out particularly simply and precisely. If ink is transferred, the ink lift discs are in contact with the transfer roller. If the ink lifter disc is brought into brief contact with the ink fountain roller, the ink is dosed slightly.

The system shows the ink lifter disc on the ink fountain roller decisively about the amount of ink to be transferred during metering. If the ink lifter disc is constantly in contact with the ink fountain roller, then this position corresponds to the maximum ink transfer. The contact time of the ink lifter disc on the ink fountain roller determines the length of the ink ribbon that is transferred to the transfer roller. Preferably, the paint lifter disc remains in constant contact with the transfer roller, which ensures controlled ink flow. For this purpose, the control of the ink lifter disks can be selected so that the installation times of the ink lifter disks take place in accordance with the ink requirement in the respective area of the printed image. Different lever arrangements are provided according to the selected ink metering device for the defined control of the contact time of the ink lifter disks.

The ink is transferred from the slow-running ink transfer roller to the peripheral speed corresponding to the machine speed or the peripheral speed of the plate cylinder by means of suitable lifting devices. This can be done with the usual reciprocating ink lifters, or rotating ink lifters with two sides.

The ink lifter discs are close together and have no empty gaps, so that the ink transfer to the transfer roller is optimal and there is no need to rub directly after the ink transfer. The rubbing in the area of the plate cylinder is sufficient for this.

Another embodiment provides for a double row of color lifter disks which are mutually offset with respect to one another. In this version, the ink fountain roller and the transfer roller are connected to each other with a drive belt. In this version, too, the ink layer thickness is doctored off on a doctor blade to a fixed, fixed layer thickness and transferred by means of the ink lifter disks according to the application time. As mentioned above, different lever arrangements are provided for actuating the paint lifting discs.

Further advantages emerge from the subclaims and the following description in conjunction with the exemplary embodiments shown schematically in section.

  • Fig. 4 eine Draufsicht der Vorrichtung entsprechend Fig. 3.
It shows :
  • 1 is an ink metering device with ink lifting disks lying loosely between the ink fountain roller and the transfer roller,
  • 2 shows an embodiment with two opposite rows of ink lifting discs between the ink fountain roller and the transfer roller,
  • 3 shows a similar design as in FIG. 1, in which the paint lifting disks are attached to a lever arrangement on which two rollers are driven,
  • 4 is a top view of the device corresponding to FIG. 3.

In Fig. 1, an ink metering device is shown, in which an ink fountain 1 and an ink knife 2 is provided on an ink fountain roller 3, the ink knife 2 with a fixed gap width ensures that on the ink fountain roller 3 an equal sized ink film from the ink fountain 1 is supplied. The ink application film on the ink fountain roller 3 can be transferred further to a transfer roller 5 with an ink lifter disc 4. Depending on how long the ink lifter disc 4 rests on the ink fountain roller 3, more or less ink is transferred to the transfer roller. The paint lifter disc 4 is controlled via a lever arrangement 6, at the end of which a support roller 9 is arranged. The control is preferably carried out so that the ink lifter 4 is in constant contact with the transfer roller 5 and only for ink removal. can be brought into contact with the ink fountain roller 3 by lowering the support roller 9. The peripheral speeds of the rollers 3 and 5 are considerably smaller than the peripheral speed of the rollers of the rest of the inking unit. The peripheral speeds of the rollers 3, 5 can be changed. An ink lifter 15 is arranged between the transfer roller 5 and an inking roller 16. The ink lifter 15 can also be designed as a rotating lifter on which two rollers are provided for transferring the ink, in order to accelerate the ink from the slow peripheral speed to the machine peripheral speed of the rollers corresponding to the plate cylinder.

Since the ink lifter discs 4 lie close together, the ink transfer is optimal, i. H. there are no empty gaps on the transfer roller 5. Since the ink transfer can be controlled so well in accordance with the ink requirement, the inking roller 16 can also be designed without trituration, i. H. the rubbing directly on the plate cylinder is sufficient with the present ink metering device. The lever arrangement 6 can be designed differently depending on the space conditions of the printing press in the inking unit area.

Die Gelenkstangen 14 können gut durch die Freiräume zwischen den Farbheberscheiben 4.1 hindurch geführt werden.2 shows another ink metering device in which the connecting line of the ink fountain roller 3 to the transfer roller 5 has an angle of approximately 45 ° to the horizontal. The rollers 3, 5 are connected to one another by a drive belt 3.5. Between the rollers 3, 5, two rows of ink lifters 4.1, 4.2 are arranged. The color lifter disks 4.1 are set opposite to the opposite color lifter disks 4.2 and are eccentrically mounted. The ink lift discs 4 are rotated by the roller 3 or 5 in rotation. The control of the ink lifter disks 4.1, 4.2 takes place via a lever arrangement 8, 8.1 and articulated rods 13, 14. The articulated rods 14 can be guided well through the spaces between the ink lifter disks 4.1.

In this solution, too, the ink film is continuously fed to the ink fountain roller to a certain fixed preselected thickness by setting a doctor blade 2.1 and, depending on the contact time of the ink-lifting disks 4.1, 4.2, is transferred to the transfer roller 5. If no ink is removed by the ink-lifting discs 4.1, 4.2, the ink is returned to the ink fountain 1 after one rotation of the ink fountain roller 3. In this color metering device, in addition to the known reciprocating jacks, rotating double-sided jacks can also be used can be used in order to bring the color to normal machine speeds. Furthermore, in this solution as well, an optimal feed control by the ink lifting discs 4.1, 4.2 from zero to maximum is possible without the transfer roller having 5 empty gaps.

The ink-lifting discs 4 have flat spacer bolts 12 on one side and are mounted on two support rollers 10 which are arranged at both ends of a lever 11. A lever arrangement 7 is fastened to the lever 11 in such a way that the ink regulator disks 4 can be applied to the ink fountain roller 3 for the finest regulation of the ink in the most varied of installation times. The special device with the lever 11 also allows a simple change of the permanent system of the ink lifting discs 4 from the transfer roller 5 to the ink fountain roller 3, for this purpose only the basic setting angle of the lever 11 with the lever arrangement 7 is changed by an adjusting screw. The color lifting discs 4 can be removed quickly and without great effort for repair purposes and cleaning work.
