Abstract

A pair of supports for a hatch cover of container ships comprises an upper support (21) and a lower support (20). The lower support (20) is welded to a hatch bank and consists of wear-resistant hard steel. The upper support (21) is comprised of a base body (22) welded to the hatch cover and of a wear-resistant waste part (23) made of plain steel. The wear-resistant waste part (23) is engaged with a pin (25) in a hollow portion (24) of the base body (22), thereby providing for the safety of the locking. The wear-resistant waste part (24) may be easily replaced by loosening the screw (26). The upper support (21) is displaced as the hull moves and it is loaded by the containers piled on the hatch cover. The inevitable wear occurs only on the lower side (27) of the wear-resistant waste part which is easy to replace.

Description

The invention relates to a support combination for the hatch covers on container ships, in which the hatch covers are heavily loaded by containers stacked on them. The combination of supports consists of an upper support, which is attached to the hatch cover, and a lower support, which is fixedly attached to the ship, a large number of these support pairs supporting a hatch cover placed over a hatch.

In the known pairs of supports, severe wear occurs on the contact surfaces after a relatively short time, since the loaded hatch covers constantly shift as a result of the ship's rolling and pounding movement. The abrasion on the supports causes the rubber seal of the hatch cover to be compressed and destroyed beyond an admissible level, and the lower edge of the hatch cover fill to rub on the hatch bench, reducing its strength, which is important for the ship. A replacement or repair of the supports was previously only possible during a stay at a shipyard and was very complex, since the upper supports on the hatch cover and the lower supports on the hatch bench must be welded.

Bearings are known (DE-A No. 3103104), in which sliding blocks are held in a receiving space of the bearing block by a hardenable composite material that can be introduced in liquid form. Although this arrangement is favorable for the alignment of the sliding blocks, it requires facilities that are normally not available on board a ship. Experience has also shown that it is very difficult to remove the hardened plastic from the receptacles to replace the sliding blocks after wear and tear, so that it may be advisable to burn off the whole blocks and weld on new ones. In any case, this work requires the ship to be docked.

In the unpublished HANSA Schiffahrt, Schiffbau, Hafen 1982, No. 22, p. A 25, reference is made to a previously used support combination in which an interchangeable pressure block of rectangular cross-section is inserted into a welded mounting frame and held in place by means of screws inserted in the horizontal direction. The other support part is a steel plate of higher strength. This mounting of a spare part in a frame assembled by welding is unsatisfactory, since the frame and screws can be bent under large, dynamic loads so that the screws can no longer be removed and the pressure blocks can therefore not be easily replaced.

Movement of the hatch covers on the hatch benches is desirable because u. a. the sliding friction between the upper and lower supports also destroys part of the energy caused by the movement of the load resting on the hatch cover. On a hatch cover for a hatch opening of z. B. 18.8 x 8 m 6 containers can be stacked in 4 layers, the z. B. each weigh 30 t, which results in a static load of approx. 720 t, which is distributed over, for example, 16 pairs of supports on the hatch cover. The dynamic load from this load occurring in rough seas is significantly higher, whereby horizontal forces also occur, which can cause the upper supports on the lower supports to shift by up to 20 mm during large torsional movements of the ship, which causes wear on the supports .

The invention has for its object to provide a support combination in which the extent of the unavoidable wear of a wearing part is recognizable and the wearing part is attached in a manner that excludes damage to the fastening means despite the high loads that occur, so that the wearing part is easily replaceable.

To solve this problem, it is provided that one support should be made of a hard, wear-resistant material and the other support should be made in two parts, whereby it consists of a base body and a wear part, which is exchangeably attached to the base body, but with this against displacement in all directions of the contact plane between the two supports is securely and positively connected.

According to the invention, the wearing part in a support combination in accordance with the preamble of claim 1 has an integrally formed elongate pin perpendicular to the support surface and the base body is provided with a recess corresponding to the shape of the pin into which the pin can be inserted, the height of the pin being a little less than the depth of the recess is such that the surface of the base body surrounding the recess rests on the surface of the wear part surrounding the pin. In addition, according to the invention, the wear stiffener is detachably fastened to the base body by at least one screw that can be screwed into the base body by the wear part and the pin.

The support made of wear-resistant material is preferably attached as a lower support on the hatch bench, while the base body is firmly connected to the wear part as an upper support with the hatch cover. The lower support is preferably a plate which is welded to the hatch bench and made of a chrome-nickel steel, e.g. B. CrNi 18.9. Other hard refined or hardened steels are possible. The wear part, however, is made of ordinary steel, e.g. B. St 37, and the base body can consist of the same material.

The wear entering the wear part is easy to see. It can vary from hatch to hatch depending on the torsional movements of the ship and the loading of the hatch covers. Is the replacement of the wearing parts one Hatch required, this can easily be done by the crew during a loading process in which the hatch covers are removed and stacked, with only the screws between the wearing parts and base bodies being loosened and new wearing parts having to be screwed on. It is advantageous here if the base body and the wearing part are attached to the hatch cover, since the hatch covers are stacked on board for the loading process, with a distance usually remaining between them such that replacement of the wearing parts is possible without risk. The change can therefore be carried out by the crew themselves without any loss of time for the ship due to a dockyard time.

Ein Knieblech 17 stützt den Auflagerflansch 12 an dem Auflager ab.On deck 1 there is hatch fill 2, on which hatch bench 3 is located approximately horizontally. The parts and used support plates 4 and 5 are welded together. The hatch cover 10 has at its edge an approximately vertically arranged hatch filling 11, on the lower edge of which, for. T. an approximately horizontal bearing flange 12 is welded and supported by support plates 13, while another part of the hatch edge 14 is only a short distance of z. B. 10 mm to the top of the hatch bench 3. A rubber seal 16 is fastened to brackets 15 which, when the hatch cover is closed, lies lightly compressed on the hatch bench 3. On the top of the hatch cover 10, a container foundation 18 is shown, which is used for stacking the containers on the hatch cover 10. A knee plate 17 supports the support flange 12 on the support.

A plate made of wear-resistant chrome-nickel steel is welded onto the hatch bench as the lower support 20. The upper support 21, which consists of the base body 22 and the wearing part 23, is arranged under the support flange 12. The base body 22 is welded to the support flange 12 and has a recess 24 in the form of an elongated hole at the bottom.

An elongated pin 25 is integrally formed on the top of the wearing part 23, which is inserted into the recess 24 in a form-fitting manner, so that the wearing part 23 cannot move with respect to the base body 22. The wearing part 23 is held on the base body 22 by two or more screws 26, the screws 26 running through the pin 25 and being screwed in so far that they do not become damaged when wear occurs on the underside 27, as long as the wear does not exceed the permissible level .

The permissible wear results from the maximum permissible compression of the rubber seal 16 and from the requirement to keep a distance between the hatch cover edge 14 and the hatch bench 3. In one example, the rubber seal was compressed 3 and 8 mm for optimal contact on the hatch bench, while with a compression of more than 16 mm there was already a risk of damage to the seal. In this case, wear parts were chosen which (without spigot) were approx. 12.5 mm thick. However, since the conditions differ from ship to ship, suitable dimensions must be chosen from case to case. The illustrated version of hatch and hatch bench is also only one example that can be modified as required, in particular other attachment and shapes of the base body are possible on the hatch.

The lower support 20 or its upper side expediently has such a large area that the underside 27 of the wearing part 23 always rests completely on the upper side 28 even when there are displacements between the two supports, so that there is even abrasion of the wearing part 23, while on the lower one Bearing 20 practically no wear occurs.

The pin connection shown with an elongated pin 25 is preferred. The molded on the wearing part 23 pin 25 can be inserted into the recess 23 with slight play and its height is a little smaller than the depth of the recess, so that the pin 25 cannot be compressed even by large loads and the wearing part 23 closes again slightly is remove. The pin 25 is only intended to transmit the horizontal component of the forces acting on the upper support 21 to the wear part 23. However, it is possible to use several pins, or those whose shape may differ from the version shown.

A steel alloy is preferred for the lower support 20, which not only has a high wear resistance, but also a high corrosion resistance to sea water and in particular does not rust. The base body 22 can also consist of rustproof, seawater-resistant material. The wear part 23, on the other hand, does not need to be corrosion-resistant and can be formed from simple steel or another material whose wear or abrasion resistance is lower than that of the other support 20.

Claims (2)

1. Support combination for hatch covers, consisting of an upper support (12) at a hatch cover (10) and a lower support (20) on a hatch bed (3), wherein those support parts, which are intended to bear one against the other, consist of material of different abrasion resistance and one expendable part (23) of the less wear-resistant material is in the case of the one support part retained detachably by means of screws and shape- lockingly in a frame-like receptacle and the other support of more wear-resistant material is so large thatthe expendable part is always completely supported even in the case of displacements, characterised thereby, that the expendable part (23) at its side remote from the other support part (20) displays a shaped-on, elongate spigot (25) perpendicular to the support surface, a base body (22) is provided with a recess (24), which corresponds to the shape of the spigot (25) and into which the spigot (25) is insertable, the height of the spigot (25) is a little smaller than the depth of the recess (24) so that the surface of the base body (22) surrounding the recess (24) lies against the surface of the expendable part (23) surrounding the spigot (25) and that the expendable part (23) is detachably fastened at the base body (22) by at least one screw (26), which is threadable from the side facing the other support part through the expendable part (23) and the spigot (25) into the base body (22).
2. Support combination according to Claim 1, chracterised thereby, that the other support (20) consists of chrome-nickel steel and is firmly welded onto the hatch base (3).
