Description

The present invention relates to a device for cleaning at least one filling head without disassembly thereof.

Document FR-A-2,290,259 has already described a method and a device allowing the cleaning of a filling head without dismantling it and without it being necessary to use the usual device for controlling d opening of the filling head in particular to avoid overheating of the opening control device in the case of a filling head with electromagnetic control.

According to this method, the check valve is mechanically opened by the introduction of a manifold comprising an element capable of mechanically controlling the opening of the check valve and thus making it possible in particular to clean the filling head in the usual direction of flow,

Such a method and the corresponding device give full satisfaction. However, in the case of a carousel, in particular for the metering by weight comprising numerous filling heads, it turns out to be tedious and complex from the point of view of the bulk of having a collector. under each filling head or even a series of associated collectors and it therefore appeared desirable to find a device which is easier to handle and takes up less space while ensuring the double filling function in normal position and holding the movable check valve in the open position when it is desired to continuously evacuate the product in the feed hopper of the filling head.

An object of the present invention is to provide a device which is permanently ready to ensure the discharge of the product flowing out of the usual filling function, in particular during cleaning, and which can be put in the position of evacuation by a simple operation that does not significantly affect the size of the filling heads.

Compared to the state of the prior art reflected in the document cited above which describes a device allowing the cleaning of at least one filling head, each filling head comprising a movable check valve which can be held in the open position by mechanical means, the invention is characterized in that the device comprises further comprising a fixed collecting element arranged around the filling head, each collecting element comprising an opening arranged directly above the filling head and suitable for receiving a closure element controlling the opening of the movable check valve when the said closure element is placed in the opening of the collecting element.

According to other characteristics of the present invention, the closure element comprises an annular flange pressing on a retractable sleeve disposed in the filling head, the flange comprising at least one radial opening and the retractable sleeve comprising a control rod. of the valve opening maintained by a centering ring arranged in the supply duct.

According to another more particular characteristic, the closure element comprises an annular seal cooperating with the internal wall of the collector which is associated with it and each closure element is mounted on the associated collector by means of bayonet devices which can rotate freely on the shutter element.

Finally, according to the invention, the various collecting elements can be joined by an evacuation pipe joining the different collecting elements and opening onto a single evacuation orifice.

Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will appear below on the following description given in conjunction with the attached drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 is a front view of the device according to the invention, the closure element being placed and the filling head further comprising an electromagnetic filling control device; and
  • Figure 2 comprises two half-sections of the device according to Figure 1, the electromagnetic control device not being shown; the left part is a sectional view along a diametrical plane parallel to the plane of Figure 1, the filling head being in the normal position of use; the right part is a sectional view along a plane substantially perpendicular to the plane of Figure 1, the closure element being put in place.

Referring to Figure 1, the device according to the invention comprises a supply line 1 on which is mounted an electromagnetic control 2 known per se. At the end of the supply line 1, a filling head body 3 has been fixed, surrounded over a part of its height by a collecting element 4 on which are fixed evacuation pipes 5 opening into an internal cavity of the 'collector element.

The closure element 9 comprises a movable ring 10 comprising, symmetrically with respect to the axis of the filling head, arms 11 each ending in a tooth 12 capable of cooperating with the flange 8.

Inside the filling head which has a cross section substantially circular, there has been disposed a retractable grid-carrying sleeve 15 supporting a barrel 16 and a series of anti-foam grids 17. The sleeve further comprises a substantially diametral arch 18 extended at its upper part by a substantially axial control rod 19 extending in a centering ring 20 comprising radial fins 21 forming a stop for a return spring 22 held in compression between the radial fins 21 on the one hand and the substantially horizontal upper surface of the arch 18.

The outer surface of the retractable sleeve 15 further comprises a shoulder 23 which, for a normal operating position of the filling head abuts against an annular seal 24 disposed in an internal groove at the end of the filling head.

L'élément d'obturation 9 comprend un corps sensiblement circulaire 25 comportant à sa périphérie un joint annulaire 26 coopérant avec la paroi interne sensiblement cylindrique 27 de l'élément collecteur 4.The closure element 9 comprises a substantially circular body 25 comprising at its periphery an annular seal 26 cooperating with the substantially cylindrical internal wall 27 of the collecting element 4.

A connecting element 28 is fixed to the lower part of the body 25 of the closure element and carries a fixed end disc 29 thus creating a space between the body 25 of the closure element and the disc 29 in which is arranged the movable ring 10.

La collerette 30 est percée de lumières radiales 31.At its upper part, the body of the closure element 25 comprises an annular flange 30 whose upper rim abuts against the lower end of the movable sleeve 15 during the insertion of the closure element in the internal cavity of the collecting element. The collar 30 is pierced with radial slots 31.

In connection with the left-hand side of FIG. 2, it can be seen that during normal use of the filling head, the valve 13 normally rests on its seat from where it can be lifted by the usual usual filling control means. , the control rod 19 being kept spaced from the check valve by the spring 22 which simultaneously maintains a seal between the retractable sleeve 15 and the body of the filling head by firmly pressing the sleeve 15 on the annular seal 24. During operation of the valve opening control, the product contained in the supply line can therefore flow between the fins 21 of the centering ring 20 then through the grid-carrying sleeve 15 to the container placed under the head filling.

When one wants to keep the check valve in the open position without using its usual control for example for cleaning in the direction of flow as indicated in French Patent No. 2,290,259, the arms 11 of the bayonet device of the closure element are arranged opposite the flats 6 and the body 25 of the closure element can then penetrate into the cavity of the collecting element 7. The ring 10 is then rotated so that the teeth 12 come coincident with the rim 8 and the closure element is thus held in place.

When the closure element enters the cavity of the collecting element 7, the flange 30 pushes the lower end of the sleeve 15 which, by its control rod 19, causes the opening of the check valve 13.

The product held in the feed column 1 then flows on the one hand through the grid-carrying sleeve and the ports 31 and on the other hand around the grid-carrying sleeve between the latter and the internal wall of the filling head then is evacuated by the evacuation pipes 5 to the outlet orifice (not shown) of these pipes.

It will be understood that the device according to the invention can be used in connection with different types of filling heads. In particular, for the filling heads not comprising a grid-carrying sleeve, it is possible to envisage a control rod mounted directly on the body of the shutter element so that when the element is introduced. obturation in the cavity of the collecting element, the check valve is maintained in the open position.

Likewise, the collecting element may comprise a single discharge pipe connected directly to a container. Finally, the closure element can be held in place by any suitable structure.

In addition, in connection with FIG. 2, it will be noted that the vertical wall 6, 7 of the collecting element 4 extends downwards to a level at least equal to that of the lower edge of the filling spout (here the sleeve 5) in its normal position of use so that the lower edge of the spout is preferably set back and at most in the same plane as the edge of the opening of the collecting element. Thus, the collecting element acts as a protective bell against the risks of external pollution by manual contact or any other means. This characteristic can be important in the case of aseptic filling operating in a sterile atmosphere. It is indeed imperative that the sterilization obtained during cleaning is not destroyed during subsequent handling.
