Definitions
- the invention relates to a burner for installation in heating and steam generating plants with a supply chamber for pressurized air, a supply device for fuel, at least one orifice that closes the air supply chamber downstream, and a flame tube that is connected downstream to the orifice and is of such a length that the fuel gas flow against the inner wall of the flame tube.
- Such burners are - insofar as they can be operated with oil or gas - from European patent application 81107307.1 (publication no. 0048438) and - insofar as they can only be operated with oil - from DE - PS 27 00 671.
- the invention has for its object to reduce the noise emission of such burners. This object is achieved by the use indicated in the characterizing part of P a-1 tent labors characteristics.
- a pressure atomizing nozzle 2 for supplying the oil is arranged concentrically within the chamber 1.
- annular flange 3 is arranged, with which the entire burner is attached to the outside of a wall 4 of a boiler in a manner not shown.
- an orifice 5 is arranged which has at least one central orifice opening 6.
- a pair of ignition electrodes 7 is also passed through the aperture 5. The entire air required for combustion passes through the aperture 5.
- a mixing tube 9 is fastened to the diaphragm 5 by means of retaining webs 8. The longitudinal axis of the mixing tube 9 coincides with the burner longitudinal axis A-A.
- a flame tube Fixed with the air supply chamber 1 is a flame tube consisting of three cylindrical sections 12, 13, 14, the central longitudinal axis of which is in turn connected the burner longitudinal axis AA coincides.
- the flame tube can also be composed of two, four or more sections.
- the flame tube sections 12 to 14 are designed as hollow cylinders. Their diameters are gradually larger towards the outlet opening 15 for the flames, taking into account the wall thicknesses, such that a gap 16 is formed between the outer surface of the flame tube section 12 and the inner surface of the flame tube section 13 and between the outer surface of the flame tube section 13 and the inner surface of the flame tube section 14 a gap 17 remains. Each gap connects the interior of the flame tube with the interior of the boiler.
- the gaps 16, 17 run approximately parallel to the flow direction of the fuel gases indicated by arrow a. Exhaust gases are drawn in through this column as a result of the speed of the fuel gases from the interior of the boiler. This leads to a reduction in the noise caused by the combustion.
- the outer surface of the flame tube section 12 has guide webs 18 and the outer surface of the flame tube section 13 has guide webs 19.
- the outer surfaces of these guide webs 18, 19 lie on a circular arc, the diameter of which corresponds to the inner diameter of the flame tube section 13 or 14.
- the flame tube section 13 is displaceable on the guide webs 18 and the flame tube section 14 on the guide webs 19.
- a clamping screw 20 is provided to fix the flame tube section 13 in the desired setting position, while a further clamp is used to fix the flame tube section 14 relative to the flame tube section 13 screw 21 is used. If the flame tube is only to be used for burners of a certain power, the flame tube sections 12 to 14 can also be firmly connected to one another.
- the total length of the flame tube is chosen so that the fuel gas flow lies against the inner wall of the flame tube. This can be achieved if the ratio of the average diameter of the flame tube, that is the average of the maximum and the minimum diameter of the flame tube, to the total length of the flame tube is approximately 2: 1 to 5: 1. Furthermore, the ratio of the inner diameter of the flame tube section 12 to its length is approximately 1.5: 1 to 2.5: 1.
- the width S 1 , S 2 of the slots 16, 17 is to be selected approximately between 1 and 5 mm. A burner constructed in this way has an extremely low operating noise.
- a further reduction in the operating noise can be achieved by cutting into the mixing tube 9 a circumferential slot 11 which is only interrupted by retaining webs.
- the width S 3 of this slot in the exemplary embodiment is 8 mm with an aperture diameter of 29 mm.
- the burner shown in Fig. 3 can be operated either with oil or with gas. It has an air supply chamber 25, only partially shown, into which the combustion air is conveyed under pressure by means of a fan.
- a pressure atomizing nozzle 26 is in turn arranged in the air supply chamber 25.
- the outside of the air supply chamber 25 is connected to an annular flange 27 with which the burner is attached to the outside of a wall 28 of a boiler.
- the pressure atomizer nozzle 26 Before the mouth of the pressure atomizer nozzle 26 has a plate-shaped diaphragm 29 which has a central diaphragm opening 30.
- a further plate-shaped diaphragm 31 with a diaphragm opening 32 is provided at a short distance downstream of the diaphragm 29.
- a mixing tube 34 is fastened to the diaphragm 32 by means of retaining webs 33 and has a slot 35 which runs in the circumferential direction and is only interrupted by retaining webs 43.
- a flame tube is attached to the air supply chamber 25 and consists of three sections 36, 37, 38.
- the longitudinal axis of the flame tube like the longitudinal axis of the mixing tube 34, lies on the burner longitudinal axis BB.
- Each of the three flame tube sections is designed as a jacket of a truncated cone, which opens in the direction of the outlet opening 39 for the flames.
- the angle of inclination 06 between the burner longitudinal axis BB and the inner surface of the flame tube portions 36, 37, 38 is suitably selected between 1 0 and 5 °.
- gaps 40, 41 are again provided, which extend approximately parallel to the flow direction of the fuel gases indicated by arrow b and whose width is between 1 and 5 mm.
- a gas feed line 42 opens into the cavity between the two orifices 29, 31.
- the burner can therefore either be supplied with gas that is supplied through the feed line 42 and exits between the two orifices 29, 31 or with oil that exits from the pressure atomizer nozzle 26 , operate.
- the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiments shown.
- the burner is still not limited to use in boilers for hot water or steam generation. Rather, it can also be used to generate hot air.

- Fig. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in Fig. 1 and
- Fig. 3 shows a second embodiment in a representation corresponding to FIG. 1.
Die Längsachse des Mischrohres 9 fällt mit der Brennerlängsachse A-A zusammen.1, which is designed as an oil burner, has a cylindrical feed chamber 1, which is only partially shown and into which the combustion air is conveyed under pressure. A
Fixed with the air supply chamber 1 is a flame tube consisting of three
In order to ensure a uniform width of the
The total length of the flame tube is chosen so that the fuel gas flow lies against the inner wall of the flame tube. This can be achieved if the ratio of the average diameter of the flame tube, that is the average of the maximum and the minimum diameter of the flame tube, to the total length of the flame tube is approximately 2: 1 to 5: 1. Furthermore, the ratio of the inner diameter of the
A further reduction in the operating noise can be achieved by cutting into the mixing tube 9 a
The burner shown in Fig. 3 can be operated either with oil or with gas. It has an
A flame tube is attached to the
With this arrangement, a different number of flame tube sections can also be provided. Also, not all flame tube sections need to be frustoconical.
As the description shows, the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiments shown. The burner is still not limited to use in boilers for hot water or steam generation. Rather, it can also be used to generate hot air.
