Description

Beschreibungdescription

The invention relates to a gas burner, in particular for liquefied petroleum gas, for upright installation in a heat exchanger or a space heater according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Gases with a low ignition speed, such as liquefied petroleum gas, require an additional air supply to mix with the gas emerging from a nozzle. In the gas burners known in practice of the type of a Bunsen burner, this requirement is met in that a tubular burner housing forms an air chamber, a mixing tube and a burner mouthpiece. Because of their different tasks and design, these sections are usually made as individual parts from different materials. In addition to the large amount of material, effort and complicated and extensive assembly, these burners have the further disadvantage of a large overall height, which in turn has an unfavorable effect on the size of the combustion chamber of the heater. In the case of burners of the type of a Bunsen burner, it is also not possible to increase the burner cross-section as desired, which is why so-called row burners have to be used for larger outputs. But even with such a series Bunsen burner (DE-PS 2 009 357), the overall height cannot be shortened. Rather, its elongated extension requires an adjustment of the ver combustion chamber in this direction, which in turn affects the design of the heat exchanger or the heater. So that the known, long mixing tubes are also favorable in terms of flow technology, they have a smooth inner surface.

The invention is based on the object of creating a gas burner, in particular for liquefied petroleum gas, which is distinguished by a low overall height and is particularly suitable for standing installation in a heat exchanger.

This object is achieved with a gas burner according to the preamble of claim 1 according to the invention by the characterizing features of this claim.

Through the use of a corrugated mixing tube inside, a strong swirling and mixing of the gas-air mixture is achieved, whereby a shortening of the mixing tube and thereby of the burner is possible by this measure alone. A further intensification of the mixing effect results from a bend in the mixing tube. If, according to a further development, a flexible metal hose is finally used, the inner surface of which is also corrugated or ribbed, then the advantages of a sharp reduction in the overall height, e.g. by bending this metal hose in a particularly simple and inexpensive manner.

Further features of the invention are claimed in the subclaims.

  • Fig. 1 eine erste Ausführungsform eines Gasbrenners,
The invention is described in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment, which is also shown schematically in the drawing. Show it:
  • 1 shows a first embodiment of a gas burner,
  • Fig. 2 is a vertical section through a second embodiment of a gas burner which is installed in a flame tube or a heat exchanger and
  • 3 shows a top view of the gas burner according to FIG. 2 .

The simple gas burner shown in FIG. 1 consists of a burner mouthpiece 1 with a burner cone 2 that widens outwards and is spanned by a metal sieve 3. The mouthpiece, which consists of a rotating body, has an attachment sleeve 4 at the other end. An annular groove 5 also serves to receive an end plate or fastening plate 6. A mixing tube 8 is inserted tightly into the attachment sleeve 4 and is provided with annular ribs 9 at least on its inner surface. A gas nozzle 12 with a gas guide tube 13 is arranged at its inlet opening 10. An ignition electrode 15 and optionally a thermocouple (not shown) is located above the metal screen 3.

If gas enters the mixing tube 8 through the gas nozzle 12, air is simultaneously sucked in through the inlet opening 10. This first air is mixed with the gas through the inner surface ribs 9 of the mixing tube and the ignitability of the inherently ignitable gas is increased by the oxygen absorbed. The increased mixing effect makes it possible to shorten this mixing tube by about a third compared to mixing tubes with a smooth inner surface. If the end plate 6 is broken, then the so-called secondary air can enter the combustion chamber here.

The main advantage of the mixing tube according to the invention with a corrugated or corrugated inner surface is obtained if a flexible metal hose 20 is used, which according to FIG. 2 can be folded over to further reduce the overall height. Such a metal hose has like the mixing tube 8, has a corrugated or ribbed inner surface 22, which usually continues helically. This ribbing also causes the mixture flow to form a flow screw, which results in a further intensification of the mixing action. The mixing tube 20 is traversed at its air inlet opening 21 by a gas guide tube 24 with a nozzle opening 25, so that the so-called primary air can flow into the mixing tube on both sides thereof.

This consists of a flat annular surface 31 which engages in the groove 5 in the burner mouthpiece and thus holds the burner. 3, a plurality of holes 32 are provided in this ring surface, which are directed towards the burner flame and in this way act like nozzles for the secondary air flowing up the outside of the mixing tube and sucked into the combustion chamber 36. The burner cap also forms a fitting cylinder 34 for attaching a flame tube 35 or other heat exchanger forming the combustion chamber. By means of a base 38 with a mounting flange 39 adjoining this fitting cylinder 34, this burner cap is fastened to an intermediate floor 40 which seals off the circulating air or hot air area from the fresh air or combustion area. In order to also limit the hairdo air area, a pre-chamber 42 accommodating the mixing tube can be formed. The mixing tube E t is fastened to the intermediate floor, for example by means of a holding clamp 41. When forming an antechamber, the use of a blower (not shown) for conveying fresh air is advisable.

When the flame is burning, the fresh air enters the pre-chamber 42, partly flows into the mixing tube 20, where it mixes with the gas emerging from the nozzle 25 before the gas-air mixture on the metal screen is ignited, and on the other hand past the mixing tube and mouthpiece through the nozzle holes 32 as secondary air to the flame.

The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments shown. So the burner mouthpiece can have any other usual shape and design. The mixing tube can also narrow towards the burner mouthpiece, just as its corrugated inner surface can be limited to one or more sections. Smooth inner wall sections can be of advantage if a longer mixing tube is required for constructional reasons or is desired for other reasons and a corrugated inner surface that is too long would impair the flow conditions if a fan for supplying the fresh air is not available. In this case, the mixing tube according to FIG. 2 could consist of a flexible, corrugated or corrugated and a smooth tube part. The burner parts can also have cross sections other than circular. Instead of the simple holes 32, simple slits or roof hatch-shaped openings can also be formed in the annular surface 3i. It is particularly advantageous if this second air openings are directed with their longitudinal planes angle, for example 45 0, relative to the radial direction inwards.
