Derartige Wäschespinnen sind, um große Wäschemengen aufnehmen zu können, im Betriebszustand recht sperrig. Der Sinn dieser Geräte ist, sie durch das Zusammenklappen platzsparend aufbewahren zu können. Häufig werden sie auch an Ort und Stelle belassen und im zusammengeklappten Zustand mit einer schlauchartigen Hülle abgedeckt. Dabei hat sich ein Idealwert zwischen 20 mm und 25 mm herauskristallisiert. Zur Fixierung dieses Abstandes 14 ist insbesondere die Abkröpfung 11 wichtig. Im Zusammenwirken mit einer der hemmend wirkenden Lagerung 15 benötigen die Arme in der Ruhestellung, wie sie in der rechten Hälfte von Figur 1 dargestellt ist, keine zusätzlichen Halte- oder Klemmeinrichtungen. Dennoch ist durch die geometrischen Verhältnisse (Abstand 14) eine sichere Öffnung der Wäschespinne durch Zug an der Zugleine 16 in Richtung 17 ohne Kraftanstrengung gewährleistet.The right-hand half of FIG. 1 shows in particular the geometric relationships.
