Abstract

A container for accommodating a stack of pictures is disclosed. The container has a display window, a first chamber for accommodating a single picture at the window, and a second chamber separated from the first chamber wherein the remaining pictures of the stack can be loosely housed.

Description

The invention relates to a container for storing a stack of images with the features mentioned in the preamble of claim 1. Such a container is known from US Pat. No. 4,242,820.

The known container is actually a double container, in which the common housing receives two mirror-image sliders, which can each independently accommodate a stack of images and present the top image in a separate viewing window. Each stack then also has its own contact arrangement in the form of an elastic system, which is deactivated independently of the second system when the relevant slide is pulled out of its housing compartment. The middle wall of the housing between the two slides then forms the separating element.

A large number of other storage containers for pictures are described in the cited publication, almost all of which could also be designed as multiple or multiple containers in the above sense. - Likewise, almost all embodiments of containers in that publication have a contact arrangement with any spring system, so that an adaptation to stacked images of different thicknesses can take place. The outer parts of the container, such as the housing, lid, window, etc., are often made of plastic, while the spring systems generally comprise metal springs. To produce economically, both materials require different manufacturing processes, and only then can the spring systems be installed in the plastic parts.

Plastic itself is only of limited use as a spring material and is then relatively expensive.

The object of the invention is to provide a container of the same type, in which no spring systems are provided in the contact arrangements.

The solution to this problem provided according to the invention results from patent claim 1; the dependent claims define expedient refinements of this principle.

Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Relative to the housing, a slide 104 can be moved parallel to the plane of the window 102, which can be slid by means of its side cheeks 106 in corresponding guides of the housing. At the periphery of the slide, a narrow edge 110 extends upward from a separating plate 108, that is to say in the direction of the viewing window, and a wider edge 112 downward to a housing base. The slide is partially broken away; to make both edges and their different heights clearly recognizable. Accordingly, a very flat chamber is formed between the partition plate and the window, in which there is space for a single image to be presented lying flat against the window, while under the partition plate, between this and the housing, a higher chamber offers space for a correspondingly thick stack of images . If there are fewer pictures in this second chamber than this can hold at maximum, these pictures are just loose, but it does no harm because the one picture presented above always lies flat. Incidentally, this also applies to all other embodiments. - To remove the single image from the upper chamber, pull the slide out completely and grasp the image on its edge, where it passes through one. Section 114 of the edge 110 is recorded. - In order to remove the stack from the lower chamber, one then turns the container - that is, after emptying the upper, flat chamber - and presses the stack with one finger from below through a hole 116 in the separating plate 108 into a position in which its edge can be grasped.

F ig. 2 shows this reversed position in section. Since this type of removal is somewhat cumbersome, the embodiment according to FIG. 3 is preferred. Instead of the separating plate, there are only lateral support cams 118 (when the slide is manufactured by injection molding, the openings 120 in the slide bottom area enable demolding), and the slide bottom is also rudimentary, namely formed by only two side rails 1'22. As can easily be seen, the stack can be removed by slightly bending the images past the cams 118, with the fingers being pressed in from below, between the bars.

In the variant according to FIG. 4, a separate, third component 134 is inserted between the housing 130 and the slide side walls 132, the webs 136 projecting inwards delimit the two chambers from one another. This component remains in the housing when the slide is pulled, so it could actually be made in one piece with it, but this is difficult from an injection molding point of view. The rear wall 138 of the slider then takes along the stacked images lying under the webs 136, while a projection 1 40 of the rear wall of the slide, which stands up between the webs, also takes along the individual image that is held by the webs in contact with the viewing window 144.

Die eigentlichen Trennelemente sind stationär als Seitenstege 158 im Gehäuse ausgebildet, und der Schieber ist in Seitenschlitzen der Gehäuseinnenwand geführt.5 and 6 relate to a variant of the construction with housing and slide, in which the slide has a switch button 150, by means of which a driver 152 can be rotated into one or other position in which it presents the single image or the stack takes out. The slide practically comprises only the separating plate 154 with the continuous switching shaft 156 and an end wall which closes the housing to the outside. The actual separating elements are stationary in the form of side webs 158 in the housing, and the slide is guided in side slots in the inner wall of the housing.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 7, 7a and 8, a housing 160 is again provided with a slide 163 which can be displaced parallel to its viewing window 162. At the leading end of the slide a hinge 164 is formed, about which an image holder 166 can be pivoted, as shown in FIG. 7a. Fig. 8 shows the free end of the image holder, and it can be seen that separating elements in the form of lateral webs 168 are formed on it, which separate an image inserted between the clear plate 170 and the webs 168 from the remaining stack 172 in the slide and to the Press on the plate. In the position according to FIG. 7a, the container then serves as a stand, and if the viewing window 162 itself is also glazed, the images in the remaining stack are also protected from dust in this position. Incidentally, the image holder can also be used upside down, that is to say with the webs 168 in the closed state (FIG. 7) facing the viewing window; in this . In this case, the upper chamber (between the webs and the window) is kept separated from the lower chamber above the slide bottom by the plate 170.

The embodiment according to FIG. 9 can be derived from that according to FIGS. 7 to 8: the container here comprises practically only the "slide" 180 with articulated image holder 182, which on the side facing the "slide" has the separating elements in the form of the now already sufficient has known side webs. In the closed state a snap-fit arrangement with the tip 1 '84, and the case 186 can be effective. - So that the stack t88 can be easily removed, the image holder 182 is L-shaped in cross section and articulated at the free end of a shorter leg; accordingly, the container is not readily usable as a stand. A folding foot 189 is therefore provided on the outside of the container facing away from the stack, opposite the image holder.

The embodiment according to FIGS. 10 and 1.1 is very simple. The flat chamber 200 and the wide chamber 202 are formed in a single component 204 from each other separated by molded webs 206. The edge 209 graded at 208 extends around three narrow sides of the component 204, while the fourth is initially open, but is covered by the upstanding rail 210 of a second component 212, which is designed in shape and size to complete the edge 209 . Otherwise, this component 212 has the shape of a box open at the top, into which the gradation of the edge 209 fits and the outer edges of which are then flush with that. The two components hold together frictionally.

The embodiment according to FIGS. 12 and 13 is very similar. Here, the two components are not plugged together, as in the example described above, but are articulated to one another at 220. Clearances 222 and 224 enable the relative pivoting. It should be noted that here also a single component 226 comprises the window 228, the separating elements 230 and finally the remainder of the stack 232 and one-piece design, while the second component 234 practically only contains the free edges and the accessible back of the images covered. The joint 220 can be formed by holes in one and molded pins in the other component, and the assembly can be carried out by snapping one or both components with short elastic deformation.

Eine eingesenkte Fingeröffnung 260 erleichtert das Ausklappen des Innenteils.1 ' 4 to 16 relate to the last exemplary embodiment in which an inner part 244 which is U-shaped in outline can be pivoted out of a housing 242 provided with a viewing window 240. The pivoting takes place around a pin 246 in a housing corner. The inner part comprises a plate 248 which is guided along a housing wall and has walls 250, 252 and 254 which project vertically therefrom. In turn, tabs 256 project inwards parallel to the plate 248. Between these, which serve as separating elements, and the viewing window 240 formed in the housing 242 a single picture space; the residual pile comes into the space between the tabs and the plate 248. A recessed F inger opening 260 facilitates the unfolding of the inner part.

As far as embodiments have been described above, in which the container consists of two components that are linear or pivotable relative to one another, it is possible to pretension the two parts into one of the intended end positions by means of a spring and to lock them in the other end position by a manually releasable mechanism. In addition, it should be noted in relation to all of the exemplary embodiments that it is generally desirable if the image presented at the window is completely visible, that is to say its peripheral parts are not covered. However, if, for aesthetic reasons, you want to have a frame around the window, stops should be made within the container so that the presented image is centered under the window and cannot slide under the frame laterally.

In addition, in those versions in which this was not expressly described and illustrated, stand-up feet and / or eyelets for hanging the container can be provided as wall frames in portrait and / or landscape format.

Finally, in most of the described embodiments, it is also possible to apply a label to a front face of the container and to design the containers so that they can be stacked on top of one another in the closed state, the label then identifying the contents of the container.
