Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a plastic film, in particular for the production of liquid-permeable bags or the like. With finely divided openings.
Until now, paper has primarily been used for such liquid-permeable bags, since attempts with other materials have not been satisfactory.
The invention has for its object to provide a plastic film which is suitable for producing such bags for a wide variety of uses.
- a) thickness of the plastic film 8 to 25 microns
- b) average size of openings 30 to 120 pm
- c) Number of openings 700 to 2000 per cm 2 film area
- d) total area of the openings about 5 to 15% of the plastic film area.
These features ensure that on the one hand enough liquid can pass through the plastic film, but on the other hand that the mass in the bag that is to be brought into contact with the liquid cannot escape through the openings.
In the case of a plastic film for the production of tea bags, it is very advantageous if, according to the invention, the size of the openings is between -90 and 110 μm and the number of openings is 900 to 1200 per square centimeter.
This configuration ensures that, on the one hand, sufficient water can penetrate the bag, and on the other hand, the often very small tea particles cannot escape from the bag.
It is also very advantageous if, according to the invention, a thermoplastic material is used which softens at a temperature of 115 to 140 ° C. Both the plastic film and the bag can be produced relatively easily from this material.
On the other hand, there is no risk of softening the thermoplastic material at the temperatures that occur when the bags are used.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the thermoplastic material of the film softens at a temperature of 120 to 130 ° C.
It is also very advantageous - especially when used for tea bags - if, according to the invention, the thermoplastic material of the plastic film is polyethylene or a copolymer of ethylene.
According to the invention, it is also advantageous if the thermoplastic material of the film is a polyethylene of medium to high density and high molecular weight.
Die Erfindung wird nachstehend anhand von zwei Ausführungsbeispielen veranschaulicht:The invention is illustrated below using two exemplary embodiments:
A plastic film was produced from a low-pressure polyethylene of high density (density at 23 ° C 0.953 g per cm 3 ; melt index (190/5): 1.2 g / 10 min .; reduced specific viscosity in decaline at 135 ° C: 2, 7dl / g). The film thickness was between 10 and 12 µm and the average hole size was 100 µm; the number of holes was 1024 per cm 2 , while the surface area of the openings was 6.4% of the total film surface.
Aus dieser gelochten Folie wurden Teebeutel in der Größe 5,4 cm x 6,3 cm durch Heißsiegeln hergestellt, in welche jeweils 2g Tee einer Standard-Marke eingefüllt wurden.5.4 cm x 6.3 cm tea bags were produced from this perforated film by heat sealing, into each of which 2 g of tea of a standard brand were filled.
The liquid permeability was compared to a commercially available paper tea bag with the same dimensions and the same tea content.
In both cases a method as described in ISO 1574 - 1980 (E) was used, with the only difference that tea was filled into the tea bags.
The plastic film was made from the same polyethylene as in Example 1, but with a film thickness of 12 µm; the average hole size was 169 µm and the number of openings was 400 per square centimeter. The area of all openings was 6.5% of the total surface of the plastic film.
However, the amount of fine particles in the tea that passed through was slightly larger than that of the paper tea bag.
Here, too, a plastic film was used as in Example 1, the thickness of which was 12 μm. The average size of the openings was below 75 pm (65% of the openings were between 35 and 65 µm and 17% were between 10 and 20 µm). The number of openings was 991 per square centimeter, the area of the openings being 4.1% based on the total surface of the plastic film.
This experiment was again carried out in the same way as in 1) and A).
The teabag of this experiment was therefore unsatisfactory, although the amount of solid tea parts allowed through was low enough.
A plastic film according to Example 1 was also used in this example. The thickness was again between 10 and 12 μm, while the average size of the openings was 93 μm and the number of openings per square centimeter was 992. This resulted in an area of all openings of 8.5% of the total area of the plastic film.
From this, tea bags of size 5.4 x 6.3 cm would again be made by heat sealing and each filled with 2 g of tea.
Die gelöste Menge an Teebestahdteilen war hier
