Description

The innovation relates to a single-sided corrugated cardboard machine with an upper and a lower corrugating roller for corrugating a corrugated material, in particular made of paper or cardboard, and a press roller assigned to the lower corrugating roller for connecting the corrugated web to a cover sheet, the corrugating base of the corrugating rollers having a radius which is larger than the radius of the corrugated tip by at least the thickness of the corrugated material web.

The corrugated profiles of such corrugated rollers are divided into five groups A, B, C, D and E, which differ according to tooth pitch and profile height. The top and bottom of the corrugated profile are circular in cross-section, while the Flank is tangent to the arcs.

As is known, the corrugation is formed between the corrugated tip of one corrugated roller and the corrugated base of the counter roller. For this reason, the base radius must be greater than the tip radius by at least the thickness of the corrugated material, for example a paper web, so that the corrugated material can be embossed properly.

This embossing process results in considerable wear on the corrugated tips, primarily as a result of the relative movement between the corrugated tip and the corrugated material web. The load on the corrugated material previously treated by heat and / or moisture is also very considerable. Wear of the corrugated tips inevitably leads to a larger tip radius, with the result that a gradual clamping between the profiles of the interacting corrugated rollers occurs. An effective embossing of waves in the corrugated material web can then no longer take place. A jamming of the corrugated material in the corrugated profile also leads to it being overstressed due to the wrap friction in the corrugated labyrinth. This creates the risk of a wave breaking. The main quality characteristics of the cardboard, such as flat upsetting and stacking upsets, decrease.

It is known to counter premature clamping by a greater difference between the base radius and the tip radius. Of course, the upper corrugating roller can no longer be taken along by the lower one as precisely as is the case if the tip radius is only smaller by the amount of the corrugated material thickness than the radius of the corrugating base. The no longer clean entrainment of the corrugated roller entrained leads to the disadvantage that the wear at the tip no longer takes place symmetrically, which then leads to asymmetrical corrugations and thus to a reduction in the cardboard quality.

The innovation is based on the task of creating a one-sided corrugated cardboard machine in which, despite wear of the corrugated profile of the corrugated rollers, a perfect quality of the shaped corrugated material web can be ensured.

According to the innovation, this object is achieved in that the flank between the Riffelspitze and Riffelgrund is set back from the common tangent to the arcs of the Riffelspitze and Riffelgrund.

With the innovation it has been recognized that the disadvantage of shaft shaping in conventional corrugated cardboard machines arises in that the inevitable wear, especially on the corrugated tip, leads to squeezing of the corrugated material on the flanks between corrugated tip and corrugated base. This squeezes the material in the flank area and grated, with the risk that the structure of the corrugated material web is impaired in such a way that the quality is decisively impaired. In contrast, there is no longer sufficient embossing in the actual forming area between the corrugated tip and the corrugated base. In the corrugated cardboard machine according to the innovation, even if there is considerable wear on the corrugated tip profile, the undesirable clamping effect does not occur, since there is sufficient space between the respective flanks of the profiles of the two corrugated rollers so that even if the corrugated tips are severely removed, there is no shaping effect on the corrugated material web. This described advantage is fully retained even after a profile height wear of several tenths of a millimeter.

In the corrugated cardboard machine according to the invention, effective embossing therefore takes place essentially only in the area of the tip / bottom. It has been found that both the quality of the corrugation that can be achieved and its resilience are considerably increased. The high / low values of the corrugated cardboard that can be achieved (the height differences) are considerably lower than with conventional corrugated cardboard machines. The improved high / low values also enable more effective bonding of the second ceiling.

In the conventional corrugated cardboard machine there are also problems with the paper thickness, which are due to different Grammages can vary considerably depending on the type of production and the composition of the paper. In the case of the corrugated cardboard machine according to the innovation, on the other hand, an increased thickness or a different thickness is irrelevant, because in the flank area there can be no crushing in any case.

The shape of the flank surfaces in the corrugated rolls of the corrugated cardboard machine according to the invention has the same effect on the embossing process, as long as the mentioned offset or the sufficient distance between the respective flanks is guaranteed. A simple flank profile, for example a straight flank, is preferably selected from the manufacture of the corrugated rollers. In this context, an embodiment of the innovation provides that the flank lies tangential to the circular arc of the base of the corrugated base, but intersects the circular arc of the corrugated tip. In a further embodiment of the innovation, it is provided that the corrugated tip is formed approximately by a semicircle and the flank adjoins the assigned end of the semicircle. Although this results in a discontinuous transition between the flank and arc of the corrugated tip, this does not play a role in the embossing process. For manufacturing reasons, however, it is advantageous if, after a further configuration of the innovation, an arcuate transition from the flank to the circular arc of the Riffelspitze.

While in the corrugated rollers of conventional corrugated cardboard machines the radius of the corrugated tip was chosen to be smaller than the radius of the corrugated base over the size of the paper cover, an embodiment of the innovation provides that the radius of the corrugated base is substantially larger than that of the corrugated tip by the thickness of the corrugated sheet. This results in a positive interlocking of the corrugated tip and the corrugated base and thus a uniform embossing of a shaft. Furthermore, the corrugated roller that is carried along is taken without play, so that asymmetrical wear and thus an asymmetrical wave characteristic does not occur.

An embodiment of the innovation is explained in more detail below with reference to a drawing.

The only figure shows an enlarged profile of a corrugated roller of a single-sided corrugated cardboard machine after the innovation.

Before going into the details shown in the drawing, it should be noted that each of the parts described is of importance for innovation, either individually or in conjunction with features of the claims.

The single figure shows a section through a corrugated roller or from part of the corrugated profile. The corrugated roller is generally designated 10. It contains corrugated tips 11 made of solid material, which are arranged at regular intervals on the circumference of the corrugated roller. The corrugation is marked with t. The Riffelgrund 12 is located between every two adjacent Riffel tips. The profile height is counted with h.

The corrugated tips 11 have a radius r5, which is smaller than the radius r8 of the corrugated base, by the amount of the paper to be formed. The flanks 13 between the corrugated tip 11 and the corrugated base 12 are formed by straight surfaces which run tangentially on the arc of the corrugated base 12. The corrugated tips are semicircular in cross section, and the straight flank surfaces are connected to the semicircular arc at the point where the diameter intersects the semicircle, as shown at 14. For technical reasons, the discontinuous transition between the flank 13 and the circular arc of the corrugated tip 11 can be formed continuously, as indicated by the dashed line 15.

The upper and lower corrugated rollers of a single-sided corrugated cardboard machine have an identical profile. When the reef tips 11 engage in the groove base 12, the flanks 13 therefore remain at a noticeable distance from one another. A pressure or a force is therefore not exerted on the paper layer in between in this area. The waves are embossed essentially between the corrugated tip 11 and Riffelgrund 12, which results in a high quality corrugation. This quality is also not affected by the fact that the corrugated tips 11 necessarily wear out over time and the radius r5 becomes somewhat larger.
