  • Nichrome alloy and titanium metal are other electrically resistant materials that might be used in place of tungsten carbide, however, nichrome alloy" is much less preferred since it does not readily lend itself to serrating for the formation of serrated pads or inserts 6, and flat or plane-faced pads 6 are inclined to stick to each other when heated and pressed together, whil titanium metal is much less preferred since it is highly costly.

Abstract

Dispositif de pince à épiler (1) possédant des jambes de pince élastiques (2) permettant d'éliminer les poils du visage et d'autres endroits du corps grâce à la chaleur produite électriquement aux bouts (6) des jambes de pince (2) lorsque l'on serre le poil entre les bouts (6) des jambes de pince (2), ces jambes de pince (2) ayant la forme d'une paire d'électrodes élastiques rapprochables en acier inoxydable ou en un autre matériau électriquement conducteur adapté pour être connecté par un fil électrique (3) à une source appropriée de courant électrique servant au chauffage des bouts (6) des jambes de pince (2) et isolées l'une de l'autre par un manche électriquement isolé (5) permettant à l'utilisateur de tenir le dispositif à pince (1) lors de son utilisation. Les extrémités extérieures (4) des électrodes sont recouvertes de carbure de tungstène ou d'un autre matériau présentant une résistance électrique élevée de manière à produire une température appropriée aux bouts (6) des jambes de pince (2) lorsque ces bouts (6) se réunissent sous l'effet de la force exercée sur les jambes de pince (2). De préférence le dispositif à pince (1) fait partie d'un appareil électrique portatif pouvant être alimenté par une batterie ou par le réseau à la maison ou ailleurs par un utilisateur, le dispositif à pince (1) étant relié par un fil électrique (3) à une batterie électrique ou à un transformateur électrique logé dans un boîtier (13), le transformateur électrique possédant un fil électrique (14) permettant de le relier à une prise électrique du secteur. Lorsque le dispositif à pince (1) est connecté à la batterie électrique ou au secteur par l'intermédiaire du transformateur électrique et qu'un utilisateur saisit un poil entre les bouts (6) des jambes de pince (2), en disposant le poil entre les jambes de pince (2) et en appuyant sur ces jambes pour serrer les bouts (6) l'un contre l'autre, le circuit électrique allant de la batterie électrique ou de l'alimentation du réseau par l'intermédiaire du transformateur
