Claims (7)

1. A door latch, in particular for a motor vehicle, comprising a case enclosing the latch mechanism, a bolt (2) and a keeper (10) movable relative to each other so as to be capable of mutually hooking together and disengaging from each other when the latch is latched or unlatched, the bolt being associated with a locking element (12) which is adapted to retain the bolt
(2) in its position hooked to the keeper (10) and which is controlled by driving means (20, 22, 23) adapted to disengage it from the bolt (2) in opposition to an elastically yieldable return element (41) for returning this locking element, said driving means (20, 22, 23) being moreover coupled to the bolt through a transmission (25, 30) so as to bring the bolt (2) to its hooked position during the final latching of the latch, characterised in that the bolt (2) and the locking element (12) are both pivotally mounted on the case (1) and said driving means (20, 22, 23) comprise a driving element (20) which is adapted to act separately and in succession, on one hand, on said locking element upon the unlatching of the latch and, on the other hand, on said transmission (25, 30) for the latching of the latter.
2. A latch according to claim 1, characterised in that said driving element (20) is a gear wheel (20) rotatiovely mounted in the case (1) and provided with a boss (24) constituting a push member on one of its sides, said gear wheel being coupled to an electric motor (23) through a worm, said boss being capable of acting on said locking element (12) during a semi-rotation of said gear wheel (20) and on said transmission (25,30) during another semi-rotation.
3. A latch according to claim 2, characterised in that said locking element (12) is a lever pivotally mounted on the case (1) in the middle thereof and having at one of its ends at least one step for retaining the bolt (2), its opposite end cooperating with said boss (24).
4. A latch according to either one of the claims 2 and 3, characterised in that said transmission comprises a first pivotal lever (25) adapted to be shifted by said boss (24) of the gear wheel (20) and a second lever (30) coupled to the first lever (25), on one hand, and to the bolt (2), on the other hand, for urging the latter to its latching position when the gear wheel (20) is rotated through said other semi-rotation.
5. A latch according to claim 4, characterised in that said second lever (30) has, at one of its ends, a thrust element (33) adapted to cooperate with a heel portion (7) provided on the bolt (2).
6. A latch according to claim 5, characterised in that said second lever (30) is pivotally mounted and has close to its other end a thrust element cooperating with a cam surface (29) formed on the first lever (25).
