Description

The invention is directed to a piece of jewelry made of platinum and high-quality gold, in particular fine gold, the connection of the two metals being effected by applying the gold in a solid state to the platinum and heating the gold to its melting temperature.

Such a piece of jewelry is known from DE-A-2 733 602 by the applicant. In the known piece of jewelry, platinum is used as the carrier metal and starting material and a fine gold plating metal is used, which accordingly covers the entire surface of the supporting surface provided on the platinum, with the known piece of jewelry the platinum portion being at least equal to or greater than the fine gold portion of the entire piece of jewelry, since the Fine gold plating has an essentially decorative character and should not itself form the main part of the piece of jewelry.

From DE-C-561 705 a method is also known in which thin platinum sheets are welded onto gold sheet of sufficient thickness by the duble method. Such trinket plates are intended for cans, watch cases and the like. be used, i.e. the process there does not strengthen the gold sheet, it should be sufficiently strong from the start.

Other jewelry parts, formed from thin sheet metal in some areas, are also known from US Pat. Nos. 3,955,934 and 4107,947, where a jewelry effect is achieved by inserting sheet metal parts made of different noble metals into corresponding openings in a noble metal base sheet and the entire sheet metal parts on one Carrier plate are welded on.

When processing high-quality gold sheets as the starting material, the processor is bound to certain natural limits, since high-quality gold does not always have the desired strength, even in the solid state, which is necessary for jewelry and, moreover, there is a risk that the edges of thinning sheets fray, tear, accidentally deform, and the like. more.

The object of the invention is to provide a solution with which it is possible to exceed these natural processing limits of high-quality gold sheets.

In the case of a piece of jewelry of the type mentioned at the outset, this object is achieved according to the invention in that the piece of jewelry is formed at least in regions from thin high-quality gold sheets, in particular fine gold sheets, as the starting material, which are provided with an applied edge and / or inner reinforcement made of platinum.

Surprisingly, it has been shown that a fine edge reinforcement made of platinum is sufficient for a thin gold sheet or sheet, which has been produced in the procedure specified in the genus, to give it a very high strength, which makes further processing possible. In the case of comparatively large gold leaves, it may make sense to provide internal reinforcement instead of or in addition to an edge reinforcement, whereby internal reinforcement means both an intermediate storage of platinum areas in the gold leaf surface and the intermediate layer of platinum in the surface, i.e. possibly between two gold leaves, so that such reinforcement is not visible from the outside or only in certain areas. The edge and inner reinforcement can also be combined to form a one-piece, thin platinum sheet, which forms a bimetal sheet with the gold sheet. The term “reinforcement” is understood here exclusively to mean that the proportion by weight of platinum is less than that of gold as the starting material. In an embodiment, the invention provides that the gold sheets have a thickness of less than 0.5 mm.

The piece of jewelry expediently has an inner field made of high-quality gold with a platinum border, platinum elements being arranged within the platinum border in the gold inner box, or in a further embodiment the platinum elements are designed as a skeleton connected to the platinum border.

The platinum boundaries, the platinum elements within the gold and the platinum skeleton elements can have geometrically simple shapes and / or, as the invention also provides, can be arranged within the gold field or fields of any configuration and design.

A special decorative effect can be achieved in that the platinum elements are arranged only on one side of the gold inner field passing through the platinum boundary.

The invention is explained below with reference to the drawing, for example. This shows in
  • Fig. 1, 2, 5 and 9 and 10 simplified reproduced jewelry with an edge reinforcement of fine gold sheets by platinum with different designs, and in
  • 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 pieces of jewelry with an edge and inner reinforcement in a simplified representation.

A fine gold sheet or sheet designated 1 in the figures is provided with an edge reinforcement 2 made of platinum, the connection between platinum and fine gold taking place according to DE-PS 2733602, i. H. the fine gold leaf is z. B. placed on a platinum wire and heated in this area to its melting temperature and thus connected to the platinum. Further processing can be carried out subsequently, e.g. the fine gold leaf can be further thinned with the edge reinforcement, which is possible with the invention up to wall thicknesses that were previously not possible without running the risk of the edges fraying, tearing or the like.

In addition to the edge reinforcements 2, inner reinforcements 3 can also be provided, for example in geometrically simple shapes, such as for example in FIG Fig. And 6 or in contours of any configuration, as indicated in Fig. 4.

In Fig. 5 ist eine Besonderheit gezeigt, nämlich diejenige, dass die Randarmierung 2 einstückig in die Fläche des Feingoldblattes 1, dort als Dreieckteil, einläuft, was mit 2' bezeichnet ist.5 shows a special feature, namely that the edge reinforcement 2 runs in one piece into the surface of the fine gold leaf 1, there as a triangular part, which is denoted by 2 '.

Die Fig. 7 und 8 zeigen Möglichkeiten, die Feingoldfläche 1 mit einem Skelett aus Platinstäben o.dgl. auszurüsten, im Falle der Fig. 7 aus miteinander verbundenen oder aus nicht miteinander verbundenen Stäben, wie dies in Fig. 8 angedeutet ist.7 and 8 show possibilities of the fine gold surface 1 or the like with a skeleton made of platinum rods. equip, in the case of FIG. 7 from interconnected or non-interconnected rods, as indicated in Fig. 8.

5' umgrenzen.9 and 10 again only show edge reinforcements 2 ', which, however, delimit both the outer edge and the edges of openings 5 and 5', respectively.

Of course, the exemplary embodiments described can be modified in many ways without departing from the basic idea of the invention. In particular, the invention is not limited to a specific contour or shape shown in the figures, neither of a piece of jewelry nor of the reinforcing inserts or boundaries. The platinum-reinforced gold sheets of thin wall thickness produced according to the invention can be further processed into a variety of jewelry, devices or objects. It is also essential for the invention that the edge and inner reinforcement 2, 3 can be combined to form a full-surface reinforcement made of thin platinum sheet, i.e. a bi-metal thin sheet made of platinum on the one hand and e.g. Fine gold on the other hand for the jewelry design or the like. is made available, this bi-metal thin sheet has excellent processing and strength properties.
