Abstract

A combination of decorative elements or blocks of various shape and of fastening elements for applying adaptably for the elements against a wall for decorating it by relief elements.

Description

The old buildings most often presented doors and windows provided with cut and decorated stone frames, in relief on the facade, cornices, consoles, balusters, balconies and other decorative parts in cut stone. The architecture of recent decades has eliminated practically all of these decorative elements, which, moreover, with the current high level of costs, would incur very high and hardly acceptable costs, if these elements were to be made today according to the traditional method. .

It is known (FR-A-2 167 112) to produce a wall of the so-called "sandwich" type by fixing to a load-bearing wall prefabricated covering panels forming the external part of the "sandwich" wall. In this known construction, each of said panels has at least one attachment member comprising first means for anchoring it in the load-bearing wall and second means mounted in an adjustable manner on said first means and shaped to cooperate with said attachment means covering panels for supporting and holding these panels in place once the fastening members have been brought into cooperation with said load-bearing members.

However, the panels forming the exterior wall of the sandwich are not mounted "on the wall" on the load-bearing wall. They are arranged at a distance therefrom to enable thermal insulation material to be placed between this load-bearing wall and the exterior wall formed by the panels. Although retained and supported by the load-bearing wall, the panels form an exterior wall also resting on the ground. In addition, the known attachment means allow only a limited and approximate adjustment in the horizontal direction.

The present invention aims to provide a new solution for decorating the facades of buildings or even the interior walls, by fixing "applied" decorative elements in relief, giving the same aesthetic appearance as constructions "old" , but by much cheaper means.

The subject of the invention is a material for the relief decoration of walls of buildings, which conforms to claim 1.

Figs. 1 and 2 show a door frame, in relief, produced by means of a first embodiment of the assembly according to the invention. We see in 1 the exterior wall of a building, which can be concrete or otherwise made. In 2 is the opening of a door with a raised frame on the facade. This frame is made of an assembly of lateral elements 3, 4, 5 and 3 ', 4', 5 'and three upper elements 6, 7, 7' forming a pediment. We see in 8, 8 'two basic elements. All these elements have a flat face, intended to come opposite the wall1.

The elements 3, 4, 5.3 ', 4', 5 ', 6.7, 7', 8, 8 ', are prefabricated, in a stony material such as marble, alabaster, natural or reconstituted, concrete, or granite, molasse or limestone, for example. The reconstituted materials may or may not be tinted in the mass. These elements are fixed "on the wall" against the wall 1, as will now be described with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5.

A decorative element, similar to one of those visible in Figs. 1 and 2, which may be made of concrete for example, has a fastening member 10 made of steel, anchored in it and having a part 10 ′ visible on the face of this element which is intended to be applied to the wall 1 A reinforcing iron 12 is provided inside the element 9; the latching member 10 presses against it as indicated in FIG. 4.

One or more bearing members such as 13 are fixed to the wall 1 and each cooperate with a bearing member 10-10 '. Each support member 13 comprises a part 14 which is sealed in the wall 1. This part 14 is internally threaded and a bolt 15, forming part of this support member 13 is screwed into the part 14, passing through an oblong hole 16 of a support plate 17 having a part 18 in the form of a gutter, shaped to receive part 11 of a member 10.

The part 10 ′ of the attachment member 10 and the gutter 18 are shaped to allow precise horizontal adjustment of the member 9.

It is clear that other fixing means than those illustrated by way of example in FIGS. 4 and 5, could be used to allow the hanging of decorative elements against the facade.

Fig. 3 shows other forms of decorative elements fixed against a facade as just described. In 22 are elements placed above a window 23, and in 24 other elements placed below this window. At 25, 25 'are two decorative elements (simple or composite) placed respectively to the left and right of the window 23, at a certain distance from it.

The decorative elements are preferably modular. In the case of fig. 1, the marquee 6, 7, 7 'can then extend more or less, relative to the sides of the frame 3, 4, 5 and 3', 4 ', 5', depending on the width of the window.

In other embodiments, the decorative elements can be used to form cornices, balconies, balusters, columns or half-columns, etc. They can also be used inside buildings, for example to form living room chimney surrounds.

The mass production of decorative elements achieves low prices. These elements are preferably dimensioned so as not to be overweight, which facilitates rapid installation. However, in some cases, a door or window frame can be made using a single prefabricated element.

Claims (2)

1. A material for decorating in relief building walls, comprising an assortment of prefabricated decorative elements (3, 4, 5, 3', 4', 5', 6, 7, 7') made of a stony material, each presenting a plane face designed to be applied on a building wall (1), each of these elements being provided with at least one fastening means (10, 10') accessible from the plane face, and comprising carrier devices each provided with first means (14) for the fastening on a building wall (1) and with second fastening means (15, 16, 17, 18) adjustably mounted on said first means and conformed to cooperate with the fastening means (10, 10') of the decorative elements for supporting and maintaining these decorative elements in their place against the building once the fastening means (10, 10') have been brought to cooperate with said carrier devices (13) previously anchored to a building wall, caracterized in that the aforementioned second means (15, 16, 17, 18) of the carrier devices (13) are made of a plate (17) provided with a vertical slit (16) designed for the passage of a bolt (15) which is engaged with the aforementioned first means (14) for adjusting and fastening this plate (17) exactly at the height desired for the decorative elements (9) on the wall (1) by tightening the bolt when the first means (14) are anchored, this plate being provided in its lower part with a horizontal gutter (18), and in that the aforementioned fastening means (10, 10') are provided with a portion (10') having a rectilinear horizontal shape designed for suspension in said gutter (18) with the possibility of sliding longitudinally therein for ensuring the accurate horizontal positioning of the decorative elements (9) on the wall (1).

2. A material according to Claim 1, characterized in that for improving the fastening of the decorative elements (9) »mounted« on the wall, grooves (20,21) are provided on the plane face of the elements facing the wall (1) for receiving an adhesive mortar (19) poured between these elements (9) and the wall (1) after the accurate positioning of these elements (9).
