Claims (18)

1. A piece of furniture having a pivotable door comprising on the inside an electrical consumption circuit (U) fed from a supply block (20 fixed to this piece of furniture, electrical connection wires connecting the supply block and the consumption circuit (U) via an electrical connector made of two pivotably mounted elements one on the other according to the axis of the pivots, one of these elements being fixed to the door, characterized in that the supply block (20) is fixed to the center of a frontal bandeau of the piece of furniture in order to allow a reversible mounting of the door (P or Po or P1) and of its pivots, that means at the right side or at the left side, without the necessity of disconnecting the connection wires between the supply block (20) and the consumption circuit (21).
2. A piece of furniture according to claim 1, characterized in that the supply block (20) is fixed to the center of a lower bandeau (19) of the piece of furniture.
3. A piece of furniture according to claim 1, characterized in that the supply block (20) is fixed to the center of an upper bandeau (190) of the piece of furniture.

A piece of furniture according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that, the pivots being of the simple rotation type, the electrical connector (R1) constituting the lower pivot of the piece of furniture comprises, on the one hand, a support element (2) including a socle (5) and two cylinders (3, 4) made of electrically insulating material and delimiting a central circular boring (6) and an annular groove (7) which is coaxial to the boring (6), elastic metallic contacts (a1, b1) projecting from the bottom of said boring and said groove, and comprises, on the other hand, a pivoting element (10) fixed to the door and including a socle (11), made of electrically insulating material and bearing a projecting metal cylinder (12) of rotational symmetry, constituting the central electrical connection contact, and a metal cylinder (13) which is coaxial to the cylinder (12) and constitutes an annular connection contact, these contacts (12, 13) constituting the electrical contacts (a2, b2) of the male part of the electrical connector (R,) conceived to cooperate with the metal contacts (ai, b1) of the support element (2) constituting the female part of the electrical connector (R1).

A piece of furniture according to claim 4, characterized in that the socle (11) of the pivoting element (10) presents a concentric cap (56) around the cylinders (12,13) intended to cover the cylinders (3, 4) of the support element (2), the free end of the cylinder (4) being applied against an inner shoulder (51) of the cap (56).
6. A piece of furniture according to any one of claims 4 and 5, characterized in that means for fixing two connection wires (f12, f22) are provided for the connection between the consumption circuit (U) and the two metal cylinders (12, 13) respectively.
7. A piece of furniture according to any one of claims 4 and. 5, characterized in that means are provided to connect the connection wires (f11, f21) of the supply block (20) to the elastic metal contacts (ai, b1) which are fixed to the support element (2) made of electrically insulating material.

A piece of furniture according to claim 8, characterized in that a bent sheath (51) for guiding the wires, intended for the passage of the connection wires (f11, f21)' is fixed to the second pivoting element (40) and constitutes a movable arm able to follow the rotation-translation movement of the door (Po).

A piece of furniture according to one of claims 1 and 3, characterized in that, the electrical connector (W) constituting the upper pivot of the door (P,) of the piece of furniture, two elements (A, B) are equipped with electrical contacts, and a sleeve (101) is able to link them to each other and to center them mutually, one of these elements (A, B) being intended to be fixed to the piece of furniture and the other being intended to be fastened to the sleeve (101) which itself is fixed to the door (Pi), and that means (107, 112) ensure the permanent establishment of the electrical contacts between the pivotably mounted elements (A, B), especially if the door (P1) is submitted to a downwards vertical displacement due to its weight.

A piece of furniture according to claim 10, characterized in that the reversible door (P1) is provided at its lower part with two sleeves (101) disposed respectively at the right end and at the left end of the door (Pi), the elements (A and B) being associated to the sleeve (101) which - corresponds to the selected opening side of the door (Pi).

A piece of furniture according to any one of claims 10 and 11, characterized in that the element (A) which is fixed to the piece of furniture and constitutes the pivot of an axis XX on which turns the element B fixed to the door (Pi), is provided with a central electrical conductor (C1A) made up of a rigid metal rod, and with an electrical conductor (C2A) made up of a metal cylinder disposed coaxially to the conductor (C1A), and that the element (B) comprises a core (104) made of insulating material and bearing a central electrical conductor (C1B) constituted by a rigid metal rod, and an electrical conductor (C2B) constituted by a metal cylinder disposed coaxially to the conductor (C1B), the electrical conductors (C1B, C2B) of the element (B) being conceived to be respectively placed in face-to-face relationship and to be brought into contact with the electrical conductors (C1A' C2A) of the element (A) with which they cooperate.
13. A piece of furniture according to claim 12, characterized in that the element (A) is constituted by a cylindrical hollow pivot (124) made of electrically insulating material, two half- cylindrical half-shells (102) being inserted into this pivot and conceived to immobilize the cylindrical electrical conductor (C2A) which is slideably placed inside the pivot (124), and that means are provided to allow the electrical conductor (C1A) to be centered with respect to the electrical conductor (C2A).
14. A piece of furniture according to claim 13, characterized in that the two half-shells (102) are respectively provided at their lower ends with a half-plate (118) having a half-circular opening (119) for the passage and the centering of the central electrical conductor (C1A).

A piece of furniture according to any one of claims 10 to 14, characterized in that the element (A) presents at its lower part baffles (114, 115) made of insulating material and protruding with respect to the ends of the electrical conductors (C1A' C2A) in order to ensure the electrical safety of the connector W, if the element (A) is disengaged from the sleeve (101).
16. A piece of furniture according to claim 15, characterized in that the core (104) of the element (B) is provided at its upper part with protruding baffles (116,117) provided for interlacing with the baffles (114, 115) of the element (A).

A piece of furniture according to any one of claims 10 to 16, characterized in that the means (107, 112) allowing to maintain a permanent electrical contact between the elements (A, B) are constituted by springs which push the conductors of one of these elements against the conductors of the other.

A piece of furniture according to any one of claims 1 to 17, characterized in that, the piece of furniture being a refrigerator, the electrical consumption circuit (U) is a circuit allowing the temperature control of a compartment located at the inside of the door and provided for conserving butter in a creamy consistency.
