Description

The invention relates to a roller-supported double belt press according to the preamble of the preceding claim.

Double belt presses are used to exert a surface pressure on plate-shaped workpieces or on material webs that are continuously guided through the machine with the supply or removal of heat to or from the pressed material.

In contrast to discontinuously operating plate presses, such continuously operating double belt presses allow the pressed goods to move continuously and thus to overlap the pressing and transport process, but in particular to exert surface pressure on any length of material.

Presses of known type work, as far as they have proven to be permanently reliable in the past, either according to the fluid cushion principle (cf. DE-A-2 737 629, DE-B-2 722 262, US-A-2 528 168) or according to Role principle. Disadvantages of the fluid cushion machines are their high energy requirement at higher pressures from approximately 200 N / cm 2 and the need existing there to fully cover the working width and length with press material or to provide partially switchable cushions which are susceptible to malfunction. The disadvantage of the roller-mounted double belt presses is the Hertzian pressure that occurs between the support rollers and the press belts, which limits the surface pressures that can be reliably controlled to a technically uninteresting area.

From DE-A1 -2 729 263, an isochore-isobaric double belt press has become known, in the press frame of which pressure chambers are arranged, in which there is a roller bed with press rolls extending over the entire width of the pressure chamber, which are used to calibrate the pressed material. In the pressure chambers provided with seals there is a fluid pressure medium which, in addition to the press rolls, serves to support the press belts.

However, the large length of these press rolls leads to a strong deflection in the transverse direction, especially at higher pressures. Also due to their long length, the press rolls must have a larger radius, so that a tight arrangement in the longitudinal direction is not possible. Thus, neither a calibration of the pressed material nor a reasonably effective support of the press belts can be achieved. There is also no teaching on mastering Hertzian pressure to the size permitted for the press belts.

It has been found that such a roller bed of an isochore-isobaric, roller-supported double belt press is improved, i.e. can significantly expand the range of reliably controllable surface pressures in double belt presses without giving up the advantages of both the fluid cushion principle and the roller-bearing principle.

It has now been found that a special configuration of the roller bed in the pressure chamber acting as a shape-compensating chamber in the case of a liquid pressure medium such as oil, use of the lubricant located in the shape-compensating space as pressure medium and arrangement of an additional pressure chamber sealed off from the shape-compensating chamber can achieve the aforementioned task .

The advantages that can be achieved with the invention are that, in addition to the fluid pressure exerted by the pressure medium acting in the shape-compensating space, a roller pressure exerted by the roller bed placed against the press belt with the pressure chamber is applied, thus increasing the overall surface pressure at such a level configured double belt press is achieved. The special design of the roller bed ensures safe operation while limiting the Hertzian pressure occurring on the press belt to a non-harmful size. For optional isochoric or isobaric operation of the double belt press, the roller or fluid pressure can also be applied individually.

A pressure is generated in the additional pressure chamber, which can be acted upon individually with fluid pressure media compared to the shape compensation chamber, and acts on the rollers via the heating plate and the support bearing strips of the roller bed. This pressure is applied from the rollers to the press belt and transferred from there to the material to be pressed. This creates a reaction force in the material to be pressed, which tries to bend the press belt in the unsupported area between two rollers in the longitudinal direction. Together with the deformation caused by Hertzian pressure, stresses would now arise in the press belt due to these deflections, which are greater than the tensile strength of the press belts and thus lead to their destruction. In the case of a liquid pressure medium such as oil, the lubricant contained in the shape compensation space, which comprises the roller bed and is sealed on the sides by means of seals, is pressurized so that it acts as a pressure pad pressure medium and reduces the deflection of the press belt in the longitudinal direction. Since the total of the pressure applied via the roller bed and the pressure medium in the shape-compensating space acts on the material to be pressed, the transmitted surface pressure is simultaneously increased.

In order to ensure the lubrication of all elements of the roller bed that slide or roll against one another, full-needle needle sleeves are arranged in rows offset from one another on common axes in such a way that their radial distances are only so great that the Have voids between the heating plate, support, press belt and needle sleeves filled with a molded body that allows gaps of the same thickness between the heating plate, support, press belt and needle sleeves to form, into which liquid lubricant can penetrate under capillary action, but on the other hand ensures its shape that it does not hinder the necessary rotating and sliding movements between the press belt and needle sleeves.

If a double belt press with a roller bed is operated with oil as a pressure medium within a fluid cushion designed, for example, according to DE-B-2 722 197 or DE-A-2 907 087, the arrangement of packing elements can be dispensed with, since the pressure medium ensures lubrication.

If the machine according to the invention is only to be operated isochorically, then the fluid or gaseous pressure medium and the seals necessary to maintain the pressure cushion can be dispensed with if the liquid lubrication is maintained by replacing the drag losses of lubricant collected at the outlet of the roller bed.

For purely isobaric operation, the gap height of the machine is dimensioned so that the rollers have no contact with the press belt and only the roller bed of the lower press belt takes up any sag of the belt package.

For the pressed material, e.g. B. chip fleece for the production of chipboard or fiberglass mat with copper foil for the production of printed circuit board laminate, the different pressures adapted to the material to be pressed are set in the individual fluid cushions. For this purpose, the shape compensation space comprising the entire roller bed and the pressure chamber are divided into individual and mutually independent, pressurizable fluid cushions which are sealed against one another.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in a sectional side view.

The needle rollers 2, which are usually arranged in rows parallel to the feed direction of the press belts 6 between support bearing strips 1 on support shafts 12, are offset by half a roller width such that every second support bearing bore 5 is replaced by an opening 3 which is larger than the capillary gap height 4 than the diameter of the needle roller 2. On the support bearing strips 1 adjacent in the transverse direction, the bearing bores 5 and the opening 3 are offset longitudinally with respect to one another in the tape feed direction, so that needle rollers 2 installed between two bearing bores 5 are offset in the transverse direction. The cavity between two needle rollers 2 is filled by a filler 11 so that to the adjacent needle rollers 2, the heating plate 13 and the support bearing strips attached therein 1 gaps with a suitably dimensioned capillary gap height 4 are formed, into which liquid or semi-liquid lubricants 8 draw in under capillary action.

If liquid or semi-liquid lubricant 8 is now added to the belt or the roller surfaces of the first row of rollers at the entry of the press belts 6 into the roller bed 7, it is distributed across the roller gap 9 and the remaining excess of 2 adjacent needle rollers 2 each fed through the support bearing gap 10 in the middle of the next following needle roller 2 in the direction of tape feed, where the process described is repeated. On the side facing away from the press belt 6, an additional shape compensation space 19 and a pressure chamber 15 with seals 16 are provided over the entire roller bed 7 and can be acted upon by fluid pressure media.

The shape compensation space 19 is delimited in the vertical direction by the heating plate 13 and the press belt 6. The pressure camera 15 is also limited in the vertical direction by the heating plate 13 and the closure 18. This makes it possible to exert a surface pressure on the press belt 6 in addition to the Hertzian pressure. The fluid pressure medium emerging from the shape-compensating space is stripped off and collected from the press belt with the aid of the seals 14. So that it cannot adversely affect the material to be pressed, bores 17, through which the pressure medium which has escaped are discharged, are made in the shape compensation space 19 comprising the roller bed and under vacuum or vacuum.
