Abstract

Double-belt press for the continuous production of webs of material, the pressing belts being supported by means of supporting strips acted upon by fluid pressing agents. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a double belt press with a hydrostatic belt support, at the press belts are supported by support strips.

Continuous double belt presses are for example from EP-A-544645 known. They are particularly used to make sheets or sheets Materials used that pass completely through the double belt press or are partially flowable. In particular, plastics come as materials, such as B. Thermoplastics or thermoplastic phases passing through thermosets into question, which may contain fillers or reinforcing fibers. It is also possible to run a reinforcement web into the double belt press to let the materials on before entering the double belt press be applied, such as in the manufacture of with Glass fiber mats reinforced thermoplastics is the case.

The materials become the entry point of the double belt press in general fed without pressure. Only in the gap between the press belts is the material web exerted pressure. With isobaric presses, the pressure is fluid pressure medium, such as. B. hydraulic liquids or compressed air, in Pressure chambers exerted on the side of the press belts facing away from the material. The pressure chambers are from one side of the pressure plates, the respective press belt and annular seals between the pressure plate and Press belt formed. The hydrostatic pressure of the pressure medium thus acts directly on the respective press belt, which this pressure as a membrane directly on the Material web in the press nip transfers, which in turn on the opposite Press belt supports. The opposing pressure chambers of both Press belts must therefore be subjected to the same pressure. The Material web thus begins its passage through the press without pressure, reaches in the press zone in zones of the respectively set pressures and leaves the press again without pressure.

If the material web in the double belt press is in a flowable state, then wants to flow according to the pressure gradient. For the part of the press that is in Direction of tape travel before the zone of higher pressure, it means that the flowable material wants to flow back against the direction of belt travel. This can only be counteracted by toughness, being in the area the pressure build-up a relative speed between material and Press belts against the direction of transport, by means of which the pressure in the Material is built up and which ensures that a pressure before it is reached of the respective pressure zone. This is contrary to the principle the isobaric press with the same pressure everywhere in a pressure zone should. Due to the premature build-up of pressure, the press belts put on Pressure chamber walls, seals or heat transfer bridges. This is particularly disadvantageous because the machine parts mentioned are not for Glide are designed under high pressure and excessive wear subject to.

To solve the problem, EP-A-544.645 proposes the press belts to be supported with a roller bed each. However, since on the material side a flat one There is power, but only a line print on the support side Pressure lines between the belt and support rollers is transferred, which continues in these Hertzian pressure resulting in contact lines very close to this principle Limits. Both the belt surfaces and the support rollers are covered by the Hertzian pressure in the contact lines constantly changing to close to the Yield stresses, which soon increases, especially with the press belts Leads to fatigue. In addition, the press belts are subject to Run over the support rollers of a high bending stress, which leads to increased Wear of the press belts leads.

It was therefore the task of supporting the press belts in such a way that the mentioned disadvantages in support by means of support rollers can be avoided. The object could be achieved in that the press belts with flat Support strips which are acted upon by fluid pressure media will.

The invention accordingly relates to a double belt press for continuous Production of material webs (23), in the production of which the material passes through a flowable state, with a rigid press frame, with in Press frame rotatably mounted deflection drums (2.2 ', 5.5') with an upper and a lower, endless press belt, which is guided over the deflection drums (1,1 '), wherein between the opposite outer sides of the Press belts (1,1 ') the press zone is formed, in which the material web is guided and is pressed under a surface pressure and with pressure chambers (14, 14 ', 15, 15 '), the vertical pressure plates attached to the press frame (7,7 ', 10,10') and the inside of the press belts (1,1 '), in horizontal Direction through an inner (9.9 ', 12.12') and possibly an outer (8.8 ', 11, 11 ') each have a ring-shaped, self-contained sliding surface seal, between which an annular space (13,13 ') is formed, are limited and to generate the Fluid pressure can be applied to the surface pressure on the press belts are characterized in that in those pressure chambers with a operate lower pressure than that in the running direction of the press belts in each case the following, and if necessary in the press inlet Part of the annular space (13,13 ') in front of the first in the direction of the press belts Pressure chamber, band support strips (16,16 ', 17,17') are arranged, which against the Pressure plate are supported and the surface facing the tape (18 '), projecting side boundaries (19') of this surface and the band form additional support pressure chambers (20 ') with a constant flow rate same fluid pressure medium are applied as the pressure chamber in or in front of which they are arranged.

The support strips extend across the entire width of the press belt. The number of support strips and their width in the belt running direction is chosen so that the entire zone of the retroactive product pressure is supported. It depends on the type of product and the respective operating conditions, in particular on the transport speed of the press belts.
The volume flow of the pressure medium is adjusted independently of the pressure in such a way that there is a constant flow of the pressure medium from the supporting pressure chamber (20) between the press belt (1) and the side limit (19) into the surrounding pressure chamber (14) or into the surrounding annular space (13) . As a result, the press belts slide with little friction on the fluid pressure medium and not on solid elements. The pressure medium flowing into the annular space (13) can, for example, be suctioned off and returned to the pressure medium circuit. The gap between the press belt (1) and the side boundary (19) which arises due to the slight lifting of the press belt (1) when the fluid flow introduced into the supporting pressure chambers flows over it is of the order of magnitude of approximately a few hundredths of a millimeter.

The support strips are preferably designed at the same time as heat transfer strips, heating or cooling of the material web via the press belts enable. For this purpose, the support strips preferably contain either holes with electrical heating elements, such as. B. heating elements, or channels with are flowed through a heat transfer medium.
