Abstract

Figure imgaf001
For a bulletproof arrangement made of woven, knitted or the like with high-strength fibers, it is provided that a continuous material web with overlapping folds is formed in a continuous sequence in accordance with a scale arrangement. In addition, the corresponding distances between the fold edges are dimensioned smaller than the caliber of the projectiles to be warded off, so that impinging projectiles are deflected in accordance with a ricochet effect in the arrangement and are kept away from the object to be protected.

Description

The invention relates to a bulletproof arrangement made of woven, knitted or the like, which are formed by high-strength fibers such as aromatic polyamide fibers (aramid fibers).

It is already known to use high-strength fibers of this type for bulletproof protective clothing. Here, inserts and inserts of hard materials such as metal, plastic and ceramic in the form of plates and platelets are additionally provided in order to achieve a desired protective effect.

It is also known to compensate for the protective effects against projectiles with high kinetic energy by increasing the size of the protective clothing. This inevitably results in a reduced possibility of movement for a wearer due to a larger volume and weight in protective clothing.

Known lightweight protection vests made of aramid fiber fabrics can be used to protect against bullets with a kinetic energy of 500 joules = 51 mkp when the tube exits. Up to now, higher performances can only be achieved with light protection vests of this type by increasing the fabric layers or by using hard materials. In these cases, however, dimensions are achieved whose volumes and weights have a movement-reducing effect on the respective carrier. This also counts for the multiple use of aramid fiber fabrics, whereby a vest then weighs about 10 to 12 kg.

The object of the invention is to provide a bulletproof arrangement of the generic type with a To reduce the volume and thus to save weight, which ensures an increase in the protective effect in a simple manner.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that at least one continuous material web with overlapping folds is formed in a continuous sequence in accordance with a scale arrangement and corresponding distances between fold edges are dimensioned smaller than the caliber of the projectiles to be warded off.

The advantage of this arrangement is that a lighter volume and weight than conventional arrangements is created. In this case, the projectiles hitting are forced, regardless of their angle of incidence, from the firing direction predetermined in each case via the sight line to considerable directional deviations by the fold edges. Then energy is consumed by the continuing deviations from the storey until the storey stops in or between the folds after a relatively short distance. Likewise, shock transmissions are transmitted in the directions resulting from the projectile deviations, whereby, due to the arrangement, the braking effects caused on the projectile are increased and the elastic tissue deformations are reduced and related to the part to be protected, and impact injuries are reduced to insignificant.

In particular, material webs arranged parallel to one another and folds fastened to underlays, as compact fold composites, produce kinetic energy consumption, which are increased in each case by further layers joined one on top of the other. The arrangement according to the invention causes a projectile behavior which is comparatively approximately as Ricochet effect can be referred to, whereby the projectile energies are brought to a standstill much more effectively than in the previously known soft methods in the fold layers that become inevitable.

Further refinements of the invention for increasing the effectiveness are characterized by features in the subclaims.

The use of the arrangement is not limited to the use for protective clothing. In particular, use in the form of protective mats for objects to be protected as object and surface protection is also conceivable.

  • Fig. 1 eine Anordnung mit drei parallel angeordneten gefalteten Materialbahnen;
  • Fig. 2 eine Anordnung gemäß Fig. 1, wobei die Falten der mittleren Materialbahn um 90° gegenüber den Falten der anderen Materialbahn gedreht sind;
  • Fig. 3 eine einzelne gefaltete Materialbahn;
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown schematically in the drawings. For clarification, a graphical representation has been chosen on an enlarged scale and the distances do not correspond to the actual conditions. Show it:
  • 1 shows an arrangement with three folded material webs arranged in parallel;
  • FIG. 2 shows an arrangement according to FIG. 1, the folds of the middle material web being rotated by 90 ° with respect to the folds of the other material web;
  • 3 shows a single folded material web;
  • 4 shows an arrangement according to FIG. 1 in a simplified form and on a reduced scale, the folded material webs being sewn onto a base in each case and the individual material webs being connected to one another by seams.

In the arrangement shown, material webs 1 made of fabric using aramid fibers are provided with overlapping folds 2, a continuous material web being used. The overlapping folds 2 form a surface element with a scale arrangement, and the selected depth 3 determines the overlap. The fold edges 4 formed are arranged at a distance 5, which is smaller than the caliber of the projectiles to be warded off, in order to detect at least one fold edge 4 when fired at.

According to Fig. 1 and 2, three folded sheets of material are arranged respectively 6.7 and 8, wherein in Fig. 2, the middle web of material 7 has' 90 0 offset folds 2 with respect to the folds 2 of the other webs of material 6 and 7. In these versions, the individual folded material webs 6, 7 and 8 are each applied to a base 9, 10, 11 and are each connected to one another by a sewing process by means of a thread 12. The elements thus formed are in turn connected to a thread 13 by sewing, as shown in FIG. 4. Of course, other connections can also be made. Such an arrangement is arranged for protection against a body 14. The direction of fire is indicated by an arrow 15.

The material webs 6, 7 and 8 on the base 9, 10 and 11 each form a fold assembly which can be produced in the required widths and lengths.
