In this way, the screw 11 exerts on the fixing element 8 a force F which remains constant in intensity and in direction whatever the exact position occupied by the element fixing 8 and screw 11; the fixing element 8 thus behaves like a lifter which distributes the force F equally over the two turns of the tube 3.
- the fastening element 8 has an exact position in the space which is imposed by the position of the rod 5 in which it is engaged, and the screw 11 must not itself impose a precise position to the fixing element 8 since this fixing element has its position imposed by the rod 5.
- the connection of the ball-joint type 12 of the screw 11 with the fixing element 8 satisfies this condition and consequently establishes an assembly which is isostatic.
