Claims (22)

1. Fastener for tyre chains, in particular anti- skid chains, having a basic body (1) having at least one connecting eye (4, 5) for the end link (6, 7) of a retaining strand (8) and having a pull-through opening (2) for a tension chain length (10), which pull-through opening (2) has an elastic insert (11), and also having a locking slot (3) for locking the tension chain length, which locking slot (3) adjoins this pull-through opening, characterised in that the insert (11) gripping over the basic body (1) on both sides with retaining shoulders (17, 18) forms at least one catch dog (13, 14) narrowing the mouth (12) of the locking slot (3), for elastically locking a side of a chain link (9) of the tension chain length (10), which side is inserted into the locking slot (3) by overcoming the catch dog (13,14).
2. Fastener according to Claim 1, characterised in that the insert (11) is formed by a ring injected into the pull-through opening (2) and provided with a slot.
3. Fastener according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the insert (11) is made of low-pressure polyethylene.
4. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the insert (11) is anchored in rotationally fixed manner in the basic body (1) of the fastener.
5. Fastener according to Claim 4, characterised in that the basic body (1) is formed from a stamped part which is provided with catch notches for the insert (11).
6. Fastener according to Claim 5, characterised in that the catch notches are formed by dovetailed punchings (15) of the receptacle (16) for the insert (11).
7. Fastener according to Claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the receptacle (16) has at least two catch notches.
8. Fastener according to Claim 7, characterised in that two catch notches are arranged close to the mouth (12) of the locking slot (3).
9. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the retaining shoulders (17, 18) are made flange-like.
10. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the width (b) of the locking slot (3), in the area of the catch dogs, is approximately equal to 0.9 times the thickness (d) of the sides of the chain links (9) of the tension chain length (10).
11. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the depth (T) of the locking slot (3) is equal to 2 to 2.5 times the thickness (d) of the sides of the chain links (9) of the tension chain length (10).
12. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 11, characterised in that the width (B) of the locking slot (3), outside the catch dog area, is approximately equal to 1.2 to 1.4 times the thickness (d) of the sides of the chain links (9) of the tension chain length (10).
13. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the radius of curvature (RA) of the catch dogs (13, 14), which radius of curvature (RA) is facing towards the root of the locking slot (3), is greater than their radius of curvature (RD) facing towards the pull-through opening (2).
14. Fastener according to Claim 13, characterised in that the radius of curvature (RA) facing towards the root of the locking slot (3) is equal to half the thickness (d) and the radius of curvature (RD) facing towards the pull-through opening (2) is equal to one-third of the thickness (d) of the sides of the chain links (9) of the tension chain length (10).
15. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 14, characterised in that the greatest height (H) of the insert (11) is approximately equal to 1.3 times the height (h) of the basic body (1) of the fastener.
16. Fastener according to Claim 15, characterised in that the height (h) of the basic body (1) is equal to the thickness (d) of the sides of the chain links (9) of the tension chain length (10).
17. Fastener according to Claim 15 or 16, characterised in that the height (H) of the insert (11) decreases towards the mouth (12) of the locking slot (3).
18. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 14, characterised in that the greatest height (H) of the insert (11) is at least equal to one-and-a-half times and at most equal to two times the thickness (d) of the sides of the chain links (9) of the tension chain length.
19. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 18, characterised in that the insert (11), in the area of the mouth (12) of the locking slot (3), is provided with deflection notches (19) for the catch dogs (13,14).
20. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 19, characterised in that the insert (11) has a colour which contrasts with the colour of the basic body (3).
21. Fastener according to Claim 20, characterised in that the insert (11) is of a reflecting design.
22. Fastener according to one of Claims 1 to 20, characterised in that the insert (11) is of a fluorescent design.
