Description

The present invention relates to a feed water heater for a steam production boiler of an electrical energy production installation.

It is known that steam power plants include a steam condenser which receives and condenses the exhaust steam from the low pressure turbine and heaters placed on the boiler's feed water circuit, these being supplied by steam drawn from the turbine at different pressure levels.

In order to facilitate the installation of the engine room, the first low pressure cylindrical heaters are, most often, placed in the condenser sleeve which connects the exhaust pipes of the turbine to the condenser body which contains the tubular condensing bundle .

The heaters are installed horizontally inside the condenser sleeve and perpendicular to the axis of the turbine and are supplied with extracting steam by pipes directly connecting the turbine to said heaters, pipes which are also confined inside headlines.

However, in these known arrangements, the shape of the heaters, generally cylindrical, and the arrangement of the withdrawal conduits supplying the heaters mean that the assembly remains relatively bulky and does not allow good passage of the exhaust steam from the turbine to the tube bundle of the condenser, in particular because of the draw-off lines constituting obstacles on the passage of this vapor and therefore increase the pressure losses.

The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks and relates to a feed water heater element of a steam production boiler of an electrical energy production installation comprising an alternator driven by a turbine comprising at least one low pressure body, said heater element consisting of a bundle of tubes and being located inside a cuff connecting said low pressure body to the steam condenser located under this low pressure body, the tubes of said element of the heater being supplied with water from the condenser extraction circuit and the outer surface of the tubes being supplied with steam from a withdrawal of the low pressure body, the tube bundle being substantially horizontal and perpendicular to the axis of the turbine , the bundle of tubes having a narrow and elongated section the length of which is arranged substantially vertically, the bundle of tubes being enclosed in an env elope channeling the steam around the bundle and receiving the steam draw-off pipes, characterized in that said envelope has, in the connection region of the draw-off steam supply pipes, a section from which one of the sides deviates gradually from the bottom to the top of the corresponding side of one of the two substantially vertical sides of the narrow and elongated section of said bundle of tubes, and beyond this region, a section which follows, with space for passage steam, the profile of the section of the tube bundle, the steam supply being made from above said envelope.

According to a characteristic of a preferred implementation of the present invention, the supply of steam through the upper part of the envelope is carried out between said side of the envelope and the corresponding side of the narrow and elongated section of the tube bundle. .

The invention also relates to a water heater characterized in that it comprises two separate water heater elements as above, placed at the same level and supplied with tapping steam of the same thermodynamic level at by means of pipes coming from a low pressure body with central intake and two symmetrical exhausts.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the two so-called separate water heater elements are supplied with withdrawal steam of a first thermodynamic level, a second heater being located outside of said sleeve and being supplied with steam. withdrawal of a second thermodynamic level, by pipes passing between the two said elements.

Advantageously, the withdrawal pipes connect said low pressure body to the upper face of said envelope in a substantially rectilinear manner, and the section of the envelope and tube bundle assembly is slightly inclined relative to the vertical so as to facilitate the condensate flow on the side opposite to the steam supply.

The invention will be explained below in more detail in the light of the description of an embodiment of the invention with reference to the appended drawing in which:
  • Figure 1 shows schematically in section a water heater element according to the invention.
  • FIG. 2 gives a general representation showing the situation of a water heater according to the invention with respect to the turbine and or condenser.
  • Figure 3 is a side view of Figure 1.
  • Figure 4 is a section on IV-IV of Figure 3.

Referring to FIG. 1, the water heater element according to the invention comprises a bundle 1 of tubes which, in the assembly described, are tubes bent in a U shape and therefore whose inlet 2 and outlet 3 , as seen in Figure 3 are located on the same side, and a water box 4 realizing the separation between the inlet 2 and the outlet 3. The section of the bundle 1 of tubes is narrow and elongated, substantially rectangular, the greatest length being placed vertically. The tubes are supplied with water by the condenser extraction circuit and the outside wall of the tubes is supplied with withdrawal steam by withdrawal pipes. The bundle 1 of tubes is enclosed in an envelope 6 which channels the vapor around the bundle of tubes. This envelope 6 does not have the same section over the entire length of the heater. In the region of the connection of the withdrawal pipes 5 with the casing, the latter has a section as shown by the reference 7 in FIG. 1, that is to say essentially such that one of the sides of the envelope, the one on the right in the figure, progressively departs from the bottom upwards, on the corresponding side of the section of the bundle 1 of tubes. Beyond the region of connection of the withdrawal pipes 5 with the casing 6, this has a section 8 which has the same shape, according to a slightly larger homothetic ratio, than the section of the bundle of tubes. The admission of steam via the withdrawal pipes 5 takes place from above the part 7 of the envelope 6 between the sloping wall of this part 7 and the bundle 1 of tubes.

In Figures 2, 3 and 4, we see a low pressure turbine 9 of axis 10 with two symmetrical exhausts 11 and 12, placed in an exhaust box 13. The exhaust box 13 is connected to a condenser body 14 by a sleeve 15. Inside the condenser body 14 are placed two bundles of condenser tubes of which sections 16 and 17 have been shown. The tubes 18 are supplied with water from the cold source by water boxes 19 and 20. Spacer plates 21 hold the tubes.

In the sleeve 15 is placed a water heater with draw-off level S1 comprising two elements A and B similar to the element in FIG. 1. These elements A and B are supplied by draw-off pipes 5 coming from draw-offs similarly thermodynamic level. Each element A or B is supplied by two pipes 5 as shown in FIG. 4. These elements are arranged perpendicular to the axis 10 of the turbine.

The figures also show pipes 22 for drawing off a second thermodynamic level passing between the elements A and B but in this case, these pipes lead to a heater (not shown) placed outside the sleeve 15.

These figures make it possible to see and understand the advantage of the structure and the arrangement of the heater according to the invention, in fact it can be seen that the assembly is particularly picked up, the pipes remaining under the turbine in an area which does not interfere with the passage of the exhaust steam, the withdrawal pipes have a particularly simple layout reducing the pressure losses.

The very shape of the bundle, narrow and elongated, leaves a large space for the passage of exhaust vapor, all the more so since the bulge of the envelope 6 at 7 exists only over a part only of the length of the bundle. Furthermore, the internal supply of the withdrawal steam heater is excellent without it being necessary to extend this bulge 7 over the entire length.
