Claims (12)

1. Rotierendes Druckelement (58) zur Verwendung in einem Schlagdrucker, wenn auf einer rotierenden Drehwelle (68) montiert, wobei das Element in der Mitte eine Nabe (78) aufweist, von der sich mehrere radiale Speichen (80) erstrecken, die in Druckzeichen tragenden Verbreiterungen (82) enden, und enthaltend eine Einrichtung (86) an der Nabe zum Montieren des Elements an einer Antriebsdrehwelle in solcher Weise, daß eine relative Winkelbewegung zwischen der Welle und dem Element ausgeschlossen ist, und wenigstens zwei Vorsprünge (88) an der Nabe, welche Vorsprünge einen Winkelabstand zueinander aufweisen, der für das Element charakteristisch ist.
2. Element nach Anspruch 1, bei dem beide oder zwei der Vorsprünge von derselben Seite der Nabe vorstehen.
3. Element nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, enthaltend einen dritten Vorsprung, der von der anderen Seite der Nabe vorsteht, wobei einer der Vorsprünge eine Bezugsstellung angibt und der zwischen dem Bezugsvorsprung und einem weiteren Vorsprung eingeschlossene Winkel die Charakteristik des Elements bestimmt.
4. Element nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, bei dem der zwischen zwei Vorsprüngen eingeschlossene Winkel kleiner als 180° ist.
5. Element nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, bei dem das Element scheibenförmig ist.
6. Verfahren für die Identifizierung in situ der Charakteristik eines rotierenden Druckelements, das an einem Schlitten in einem Schlagdrucker montiert ist, wobei das Druckelement Identifizierungsvorsprünge enthält, die sich davon nach außen erstrecken, wobei der Winkel zwischen den Vorsprüngen um die Druckelementachse die Druckelementencharakteristik angibt, enthaltend die folgenden Schritte:
Montieren des Druckelements an einer Antriebsdrehwelle,
Drehen der Drehwelle in einer ersten Richtung,
Erzeugen eines Signalzuges in Abhängigkeit von der Winkelbewegung der Drehwelle,
Einführen eines Einschiebers in den Zwischenraum zwischen den Vorsprüngen,
Anhalten der Drehwelle, wenn der erste Vorsprung den Einschieber berührt,
Ermitteln des ersten Auftretens der angehaltenen Bewegung,
Erzeugen eines ersten Identifikationswertes, der für die erste Anhaltestellung kennzeichnend ist,
Umkehren der Drehrichtung der Welle,
Anhalten der Drehwelle, wenn der zweite Vorsprung den Einschieber berührt,
Ermitteln des zweiten Auftretens der angehaltenen Bewegung,
Erzeugen eines zweiten Identifikationswertes, der für die zweite Haltestellung kennzeichnend ist, und
Identifizieren der Druckelementcharakteristik aus dem Unterschied zwischen den ersten und zweiten Identifikationswerten.
7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 6, bei dem einer der Vorsprünge ein Bezugselement ist, und enthaltend den Schritt der Identifizierung der örtlichen Lage der Druckelementbezugsstellung aus den ersten und zweiten Identifikationswerten.
8. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 6 bis 7, bei dem die Antriebswelle mit einer Geschwindigkeit gedreht wird, die wesentlich langsamer als die Geschwindigkeiten beim Drucken ist.
9. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 6 bis 8, enthaltend die Ermittlung des Winkels zwischen den Vorsprüngen in Abhängigkeit von der Differenz zwischen den ersten und zweiten Identifikationswerten, und wobei, wenn der Winkel kleiner als 180° ist, die
Druckelementbezugsstellung beim Vorbeilaufen des Druckelementradius durch den Berührungspunkt zwischen dem Einschieber und einem der Vorsprünge ermittelt wird, oder wenn der Winkel größer als 180° ist, die
Druckelementbezugsstellung an der Radialtangente an einem der Vorsprünge fern vom Berührungspunkt zwischen dem Einschieber und dem Vorsprung ermittelt wird.
10. Vorrichtung für die Identifikation in situ der Charakteristik eines rotierenden Druckelements (58), das an einem Schlitten (22) in einem Schlagdrucker montiert ist, wobei das Druckelement ein Paar Identifikationsvorsprünge (88) enthält, die sich nach außen davon erstrecken, und wobei die Winkel zwischen den Vorsprüngen seine Charakteristik kennzeichnen, enthaltend:
eine Einrichtung (84, 86) zum Befestigen des Druckelements an der Antriebswelle (68) eines Antriebsmotors (56), der an dem Schlitten befestigt ist,
eine Einrichtung (56) zum Drehen der Antriebswelle,
eine Einrichtung zum Bewegen eines Einschiebers (90) in den Zwischenraum zwischen den Vorsprüngen, um die Antriebswelle anzuhalten, wenn ein Vorsprung den Einschieber berührt,
eine Einrichtung zum Erzeugen eines Signals, das für die stufenweise Winkelbewegung der Antriebswelle kennzeichnend ist,
eine Einrichtung zum Ermitteln des ersten Auftretens angehaltener Bewegung, wenn der erste Vorsprung den Einschieber berührt, und zum Ermitteln des zweiten Auftretens angehaltener Bewegung, wenn der zweite Vorsprung den Einschieber nach Drehung in entgegengesetzter Richtung berührt,
eine Einrichtung (96) zum Speichern von Information, die für die Winkeldistanz zwischen den Vorsprüngen kennzeichnend ist, und
eine Einrichtung (96) zum Identifizieren der Druckelementcharakteristik in Abhängigkeit von der gespeicherten Information.
11. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 10, bei der der Einschieber an dem Schlitten montiert ist und zwischen einer ersten Stellung, in der er die Vorsprünge freigibt, und einer zweiten Stellung, in der er sich im Weg der Vorsprünge befindet, beweglich ist.
12. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 10 oder 11, bei der der Einschieber an einer Wand des Rahmens des Druckers befestigt ist, wobei ein Schlittenstopp benachbart der einen Wand vorgesehen ist, um den Schlitten an einer Stelle anzuhalten, wo der Einschieber sich im Weg der Vorsprünge befindet, wenn das Druckelement gedreht wird.
